  2. I would just like to offer a helpful suggestion to those whose hopes and dreams about this coming season's successes may not come to fruition (and I want 10 wins! or any number as long as we beat the Bluffs!!), just two words that got me through the past several years: stay drunk.
  3. Thank you for serving your country!! And Merry Christmas to you and all military over there!!
  4. LOL! So was "Peewee's Big Adventure."
  5. What an absurd notion, that "% of roster" has anything to do with wins or losses. Post "% of starters" and we can discuss something of significance. GAWD!
  6. For me it'll always be Horace "Beans" McGillicuddy, the great bench warmer of the 1939 - 1979 era. He loooovved those beans. 40 years of beans. Heckuvaguy.
  7. Very good, "voice of reason" type of post. You'll get trashed in here for it, but good for you to post those thoughts anyway.
  8. Cheese Louise!!! Keep your pants on!! What do we have before the CU game?? 3 weeks?? We've waited this long 3 more weeks isn't going to kills us! Sheesh! We sound like a bunch of whiny spoiled cry babies! TO has his reasons for waiting. I'm sure that he is doing alot of behind the scenes planning. These things take time. I would much rather have a well thought out decision than a hasty 'bandaid'. We already had that when Frank Solich was fired. The fact of the matter is this: BC & Co. are gone so whether TO fires them tomorrow or makes a decision in 3 weeks it doesn't matter. Any of us who have been around Nebraska football and Dr. Tom long enough, know that he will take care of things. My gosh, he's done so much already! We are on our way back to resuming a first rate program. If we're this impatient now what's it going to be like when we have to wait for weeks and weeks to find out who the new coaching staff will be? Anticipation is a wine that needs to be s-l-o-w-l-y sipped, not chugged like a mug of cheap beer! ENJOY THIS TIME!!!! SAVOR IT!! I can guarentee you it will be WELL worth the wait! GO BIG RED!! TLS2 Right, I agree. The wait will be more painful than we thought back when TO announced his plan to "evaluate at the end of the season." Bigger blowouts, crying Kevin Cosgrove leaving the field in Lawrence, etc. But, I doubt if TO will do anything during the season. Even though I'd forgive him for changing his mind at this point.
  9. It's true, Enrico Pelini, Godfather Pizza's award winning delivery man, is headed to Ames, Iowa to manage the new Godfather's on 13th Street, only a few miles from the football stadium! "I'll miss Louisianna," Enrico said sadly, "but at least here they have flushing toilets." Good luck EP!!
  10. That could backfire. Suppose they get the money for that and he does lose weight. Next thing you know he'll find his penis, after decades of not being able to. Slippery slope to loss of interest in coaching at Kansas!
  11. Perhaps the original poster will post the article. With credits, of course.
  12. Tom has stated that he is not presently looking for replacements for the current coaching staff, and that he would evaluate the staff's performance *at the end of the season.* I haven't caught Tom O misrepresenting himself in the past, and I doubt seriously if he was then when he made those statements.
  13. Huskers - 24 Jayhawks - 20 Rushing yardage - 112 Passing yardage - 257
  14. Nebraska's season turns around starting with this game! Huskers - 31 Shorthorns - 28 Huskers' yardage passing - 312 Huskers' yardage running - 202
  15. There ya go.. it's Pederson's fault that Bill Callahan has a history of being a substandard coach, Pro and College. We finally have our explanation of that. Thank you so much.
  16. 31 - 28 Nebraska. The turnaround begins in Austin. We win out big with great scores. We win the North and the Big 12 Championship. We win our bowl game. Bill Callahan stays. I win Powerball and purchase Catalina Island and part ownership of Guinness Breweries.

    Turner Gill

Indeed... I wonder if T.O. will give him a congratulatory call sometime this year. I also wonder if he'd be able to rally our players here behind him.. I really don't know if he'd be good here with this caliber of a program, but could he be worse than BC?
  18. have you eer thought about what a absurd screen name that is? I bleed red??? most people do..... anyway, as much as I would like to be skeptical of him, I have to say that he has been pretty accurate. He is sadly mistaken about some important things. Namely all that crap about the coaches being replaced soon. C'mon, folks, face the reality of T.O. holding to his word to us that this season is BC and his coaching staff's season to "be held accountable." The remainder of the season. This "bleed red" person is a bit of a rumor monger, imo.

    Solich

Yeah, I heard that too. He agreed to come back only after he learned of T.O.'s new job here. When T.O. called, Solich said, "Is he gone yet? Is Pederson really gone? Yay! GO BIG RED!" Then I awoke from the nightmare and turned on all the lights for the rest of the night.
  20. Warren Buffet has no financial connections with the university. Sorry, your source is incorrect about that.
  21. I have had those same thoughts. But then I recall when he got hired and the Oakland press was snickering and saying things like, "He's gone! He's gone to the 'heartland'!" He was seen as a failure there, even after taking the Raiders (via his predisessor's draft picks) to the Super Bowl.
