TB looks like the real deal, keep giving him the ball.
MR with a bo pelini impression. Well done coach.

Walter White. Duh.
Walt Whitman, Walter White, Woodrow Wilson, Willy Wonka, Wim Wenders, Wilson Wilson, Where's Waldo?, Wes Walker, William Wallace, Wallace Wensleydale, Wincent Walentine?Still trying to figure out who WW is.

No. I'm not really being serious. But where do you draw the line. Basketball makes money. At Nebraska so does girls volleyball. So are those ok and others not? What if you were raised by grandma and grandpa? What if you were part of a divorced family and have 4 parents. There are so many variables.
Just to do it for some and not others doesn't see right.
You serious?Should my parents have been flown in to watch my band concert? I was on scholarship.
Of course not, right?
Well, why is football different.
Maybe because football players make the school money?

You don't coach as long as mike has and then fire your friend because "your boss told you to". Mike doesn't need this job and his boss wasn't going to fire him for not firing banker.
This is mike's choice. To me it shows his priorities are making this team great.

OWH pumps plenty of sunshine as well. Everything laid out here is pretty tough to argue IMO.
Well except te Bo stuff. That doesn't matter, but I would bet you a $5 coffee the people in that office pretend they don't care but are just curious enough.

Our offense has some of the best skill players in recent years and puts up some of the worst yards/play in the history of Nebraska football...and people are talking about firings the defensive coordinator?
You guys crazy.

The deep pass wasn't just because they couldn't figure out what to do.
In my opinion it clearly WAS the gameplan. I seriously think they sat in meetings and that was their solution to the Ohio state problem. Yikes!

To be clear--when I said tom Osborne used to do this all the time, I didn't mean just running up the score.
He used to go for it on 4th down while up by half a hundred All-the-Time.
He would say in interviews that he did it to give the other team a chance to stop them rather than just adding field goal points. He felt it was the way a good sport would handle the situation.
-
A lot of negativity here which is expected after a blowout.
I felt like the team played hard they just were outmanned at every turn. I felt the team kept fighting even though game was over.
Tommy just elevated himself in a way I didn't think was possible. He had no need to come back to the stadium, and you know he knew the score...and he still did it to be with his team. Big balls from a big time player with a lot of heart. I can't remember seeing anything like that in sports.
It shows he loves his teammates and was hoping to support and help them in any way possible. That says a lot about him and probably says a lot about this team in general and the direction they are going.
-
Tom Osborne did this constantly. I love my huskers, but truth is truth.

Wisconsin defense is good. Many things are not going to work against them.
Still, I like our chances if TA is running more than passing. Ohio state showed that can work well--disappointed we didn't run him more.

Even though the path is not likely, it is fun to be able to at least see that a path exists.
I like to see it this way--win one of the next two and Nebraska is probably in the rose bowl or better.
-
I'm not clicking--but it would be hard to argue he is wrong.
Nebraska was king of big 8 and 12. Sometimes co-Kings but always royalty.
Since joining the B1G Nebraska has only been 2nd tier. Sometimes even in their own division.
It has more to do with competitiveness, rather than conference...but it is hard to deny that NE has made more money but is down as a national brand.

- Eric Crouch
- Tommie Frazier
- Taylor Martinez
- Jammal Lord
- Scott Frost
This is my list exactly.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but for my money their is a big gap between the top two here and everyone else.

If Nebraska loses to Ohio state and Wisconsin, and Wisconsin has two losses, they win the tie break
-
Haha. I am on a stream and didn't realize you all were a little ahead of me.
Thanks for the heads up on that INT, I was getting worried!
-
Look on the bright side. In recent years "mistake after mistake" meant we were losing by a couple scores.
Right now, still 0-0.
-
Agree with those saying to tap the breaks.
Even if we win a B1G championship we are not back. Lots of teams win their conferences.
We would need to be in that game most times over the course of multiple years to be "back".
What we have right now is a nice start to a promising season.
-
I love this--ESPN is just a mouthpiece for the games that are on their network. It will be nice to have a show more dedicated to the B1G.

Things I know are this:
1. Everyone loves to hate on Newby because he sucked last year
2. He sucked last year because he was hurt for a majority of the year
3. No one will give him the benefit of doubt for #1 and #2 despite him putting in more years through more turmoil than any other RB we have.
4. Despite his obvious experience/new found jitter/running with authority and his obvious speed (he IS the fastest back we have), he's still counted out because people can't get past #1 and #2
It's the 'cool thing' to bash on Newby right now and it's getting old really fast. As others have said in this thread, Oz benefited from some better blocking...he also got the entire 4th quarter. If it had instead been given to Newby, things might have turned out differently. Newby didn't get a carry in the 4th.
Anyone out there want to give him a break yet?
I do! I didn't care for him last year and felt Wilbon was much stronger.
Truth is that newly looked good this game. He had moves I haven't seen from him. Go get 'em Newb. Keep it up!
-
Damn it. Good job
-
I would bet the #of people in this thread who have driven above .08 3 times is over 90%
It doesn't make it ok. It doesn't mean he shouldn't get fired. But it might mean we should put away the pitch forks.

As a guy who at times thought just maybe they should be fired (during season after bad losses) I have to say that I am tilting toward the "love them" side.
I pretty much love everything about them other than the W/L thing. And that will take care of itself either way. Put me officially on the bandwagon.

Game replay help
in Husker Football
Posted
Hi all, I will be working during the game today (sucks, I know). When the games are on espn or Btn I can replay them in full, but what about fox? Anyone know how to stream a replay of the game later tonight?
i figured there might be more of us out there who are wondering how this can be done. (DVR is not an option for me)
