  1. I must have missed what he said, anyone care to elaborate? Thanks Here's a portion of the conversation: Q: You do radio now for Nebraska so you’ve seen them a bunch. What is going on defensively? I mean they’ve struggled all year, they gave up a ton of yards in the air to Ball State, they haven’t had a chance here tonight. What is going on with them defensively? Davison: Well, you know, I think it’s a chemistry thing. I think if you look at the talent across the board for Nebraska defensively, they’re not that bad. There are teams that I think have lesser talent on defense around the country that play better defense than Nebraska is right now. It’s a chemistry issue. I don’t think they . . . play well together, and right now I don’t think they believe in each other. I don’t know that they believe in the system, and it really shows. They don’t play together. You don’t see the emotion. You don’t see the fire that you have to have when you go on the road in college football. It’s such a game of emotion and momentum, as we know, you have to go out there and play together. And you haven’t seen them jumping around a lot tonight, you know, when somebody makes a play. They haven’t made a lot of plays, but at the same time, when they have you don’t see a lot of emotion out there either. Q: Matt, let me ask you this. You know this ball club extremely well, being around them on a consistent basis. What is this going to do to Nebraska tonight? This is not just a loss, this game has gone behind the woodshed . . . . Davison: Sure. It’s going to be an ugly week at Nebraska for sure. And you know, this is the fourth year for Bill Callahan here at Nebraska and expectations are high . . . and I have high expectations and I won’t apologize for having high expectations for the program. And it’s going to be a long week for sure. . . . Obviously some things need to change because right now this isn’t the way Nebraska football is supposed to be playing. And you know, they were a field goal away from losing to Ball State. Iowa State has a 10-point lead, in Lincoln, last week, and I don’t know if Iowa State is going to win another game this year. So, you know, there are a lot of issues right now. Things that are going to need to be addressed and there’s going to be some questions asked this week that are going to need to be answered.
