While that would be pretty neat, I don't want to see Rex get 1,000 yards at the expense of Roy. It's Helu's last game. I'd like to see PT for him a priority tonight.

The flashy jersey is a gimick to get people to watch. I dont mind wearing a throwback once in a while, but it took years to build up the tradition that Nebraska has. Why throw it away by buying into crappy gimicks that look cool.

All i know is if i EVER see another thread regarding the possibility/speculation of Bo leaving, it'll be way too damn soon. This is making me want to dig up the Martinez rumors just for a change of scenery.

What does it mean to be a BR columnist? The website looks more legit nowadays but I thought all you had to do was basically sign up and start writing 'articles.'

I have a coat autographed by Brook,Tommie and Lawrence Phillips. Now too small for me, too big for my wife, and years away from fitting my 2 small boys. Still a great day getting it and a hell of a souvenir!!

I'm not sure I would want to wear it. Sounds like a awesome coat. I always cheered for Brook I grew up in Western Kansas too and seeing a farm kid from my area have that kind of success always motivated me.

I don't mind Iowa as a rival, if they stay as good as they are right now it will turn into a very fun game. My only bugaboo about the game is that it needs to be on the friday after thanksgiving.

The actual scheme matters very little. What we need is a scheme that we can stik to. With T mart and the quarterbacks we have comming in I think we have it in the zone option.

I don't get where people are saying that we overhauled the offense midway through fall camp. It seemed that the offense was headed in the spread option direction since the Holiday Bowl, and coaches have said it was headed in that direction even before that, but injuries prevented us from progressing. So, what's all this "we had to overhaul the offense midway through fall camp?" I understand if we limited the playbook somewhat for Taylor, but the zone read game was in place already, I don't think the basic philosophy of our offense really changed. We knew before this season that Bo wanted our QBs to run the ball, to make the defense account for all 11 players. I don't know, let me know if I missed some article where they stated they had to overhaul the offense midway through fall camp, but I've never heard anything of that nature except randomly on this board.

 

There is a difference between running the zone read, and handing off the ball out of the shotgun. The past couple of years most of our plays that looked like a zone read, were actually a designed QB or RB run. The same thing is true with Cody or Zac in the game, and the same thing was true for the most part after Taylor got injured.

 

So a lot of times when fans are saying things like he should have kept or given the ball, it actually was called that way, it wasn't the wrong read.

 

I understand the difference between the zone read and a designed handoff. I just don't follow where people (mainly zoogies, I think) are saying that our offense was overhauled in the middle of fall camp.

Don't know if overhaul is the best word for it, but a lot of changes were made to better fit T-Mart's skill set.

Its a bunch of crap about his mom getting a job there, but it happens in, all sports LJ at penn st chalmers at kansas in basketball. It will continue to happen untill the Ncaa makes a rule sbout it

No need for these all these 'well-wishing' comments. I think it's pretty clear now that Watson is doing everything he can to leave this offseason. Can't say I blame him. He is going to find something eventually. You guys are very likely going to get your wish. Careful what you wish for!

 

When he goes, #1 on the agenda will be to find a quality QB coach to replace him. That will be tough, despite what anyone may want to believe. Innovative coordinators and playcallers are not in short supply, especially on the internet, so that's something I am less worried about

Good point Zoogies, if not this year he will be gone after next year, the way the fan base acts over the coordinators is insane, wanting to fire mcbride, now watson. Watson simply can't win no matter what he calls even when he puts up 20 aginst a good defense in OU he gets blamed. If I were him I would want out too.

He calls it the showtime kick and he practices it a lot. He also said he has ten more comming once tge merger goes through with the ufc
