  1. The direction of the program is a good one. We saw several steps forward, this year we may see a step backwards. We have very young very talented players who will take time to develop. Patience is not something that we see very often in this era of football, but I think right now patience is what we need.

  2. This stat would irk me more if the vast majority of those losses didn't fall exactly in the worst Husker era since the 50s

we probably (i say 'probably' because i don't want to do the research) beat more top ten teams in the 90's than we lost to in the 2000's. either way, it's not a big deal stat. how many teams would be in a similar boat? how many top ten teams have we played on the road in that period?

I took on the challenge of doing the research. In the 90's we won 14 games against top ten teams (counting home, away, and neutral) posting a total record of 14-9 against top ten teams. 200-2009 we lost 14 posting a total record of 2-14. To answer the questions 14 wins in the 90s vs 14 loses in the 2000s

as for the number of top 10 road games since 97 it was 8. (not counting neutral site games) So it is an eight game lossing steak.

  3. Where was OU ranked when we beat them a couple of years ago? I do think that was in Lincoln though.

They were 24. And, yes, that game was in Lincoln.

Think he ment in 01 when they were ranked 1 or 2, but that one was in Lincoln also. Whatever the case these stats are bogus and stupid. They will keep changing it. I remember just a couple years ago when we were talking about how long it has been since we beat a ranked team. If we win it will be Nebrasak hasn't beaten a top 5 team since so and so.

Which year? Because we've beaten ranked teams in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2010. Must have been 2009 since there haven't been very long periods of time.

Probably was and it may have been a top 20 team. Just pointing out how pointless and lame some of the stats people worry about are.

  4. by the way weve played our first 4 games i would expect nothing less. I bet the coaches are just sitting back smiling thinking about what we have in store for the B1G. We have alot to show on both sides of the ball, i dont care what anyone says. Lets hope the boys execute, execute, execute and well be fine, i will be there in person to find out. GBR!!!

We can only hope that this is true. If we haven't been holding back I'm afraid it will be a long season.

  6. I had an issue I just noticed. Most of the time I will type out the img to post a picture, just saves me time to use the key borad instead of the mouse. Since the upgrade it shows up like thisa> looks like it tries to put it as a link automaticly. Is there a fix for this or do I just need to stop being a cry baby

  7. Now it says that they are applying to the ACC. This is interesting since they are two of the schools the Big Ten was potentially looking at.

Wouldn't go that far re: Pitt. Already in the footprint, and Penn State pretty much owns Pennsylvania media markets.

    Syracuse, possibly--Pitt, probably not.

And this is interesting in that it was intimated that all of the 'leftovers' from the Big XII would end up as part of the Big East (read: Baylor, ISU, KSU, et al).

Perhaps some of the Big East schools aren't down with onboarding TCU next year and Big XII refugees in future years?

Baylor and ISU have pretty much offered themselves to he Big East.

But, is the Big East still salvageable even without Syracuse and Pitt? Word on the ESPN street — and it should be noted that is is far from confirmed — is that Iowa State and Baylor have reached out to the Big East if the Big 12 falls apart. Baylor has previously expressed confidence that if the Big 12 were to dissolve, that an invite from the Big East would follow.
