I think the Kellogg hailmary is the best.
I forgot just how fast T Martinez was when he was healthy. Holy smokes. He left everyone in the dust.

No they don't.
We've made more yards on the year on swing passes than we've lost.
Stats don't back you up.
We averaged 1.5 yards positive IN THE IOWA GAME. So it wasn't a good game...but we lost Kanoa and he was a better perimeter blocker than most...so I'd imagine that's partially to blame.
Overall, our swing passes worked well this year.
A whole 1.5 yards? Wow. I retract my statement. We should have thrown more. Sorry, I think we have different definitions of "working".
And I'm not sure why you keep bringing up this year. I was specifically talking about the Iowa game. This is an Iowa game thread.

Luke isn't the best passer. I think if he had more extended playing time, people would see this. The playbook was pretty limited when he was in this year. It was mostly read option or QB runs. That one play where he connected with JD was most likely scripted, and practiced over and over throughout the week.
I may be wrong, but it seems to me like Martinez has a lower body injury. He just looks slow. Maybe he's not fully healed from his previous injury this year? I don't know. I just know he doesn't look the same running the ball.
From what I have seen, I don't think Luke would transfer, but I definitely could be wrong. The thing is, in this type of offense, QBs get injured a fair amount. Even if you're the number two QB, you have a pretty good chance of getting playing time. When was the last time Nebraska made it through a season without the starting QB getting injured?

Actually, no...it's not about questioning him. It's about people here stating their opinions as fact and calling for coaches to be fired. It's pure stupidity and it's what got us into this mess in the first place.
For every swing pass that didn't make positive yardage...I guarantee you we had plenty that have positive yardage. I remember the 75 yarder to Washington vs Colorado. Plenty of others to Wandale and JD have netted plenty of yards this year.
What you've done is create a narrative that all our swing passes are bad because you don't like the results from Iowa. That's it. And it's a piss poor argument NOT based on facts.
I argue for patience. Not having it is what got us into this mess. Let Frost recruit and develop.
I haven't created any narrative. I stated the swing passes to the WRs were not working. They weren't working. The stats back this up. I don't really care how they worked in the past. Against Iowa, they were not working.

The thing about is....even if the coaches have watched hours of film and thought the swing pass was going to work on Iowa....that doesn't explain trying it all game in just about every single game of the season.....did every team's film show our coaches that this play was going to work and just somehow with bad luck it just didn't end up working in every single game?
Don't question Coach Frost. Blitz will lose his mind. He's very sensitive when it comes to questioning Coach Frost, even when it was obvious that the swing passes to the WRs were not working. This isn't an opinion. This is a fact. You can go back to all the swing pass plays to WRs and see they were not working.

You definitely aren't. You microwave your meals.
You also don't get to call your opinions facts. So enjoy thinking you're an awesome chef with that Kraft mac'n' cheese.
Did you have a bad day? Are you okay?

We need more hot takes about swing passes. It's obvious people that make these comments know more about football than Frost.
I don't need to be a professional cook to know when food sucks.
I also don't need to know more about football than Frost or be a coach to know that they weren't working. Why run something over and over that consistently lost yards or went for no gain? The play calling was horrendous.

Will he be coach? Yes, he isn't getting fired anytime soon.
I guess the thing I find the most troubling is his strategy. He stated he wants the defense to hold the other team to 30 and under, with the idea the offense will score more than 30 to win the game.
This might have worked in the AAC. It's not going to work in the Big Ten. The coaching is much better, and the defenses are much better. Getting consistently over 30 is going to be difficult.

I was watching UCF play USF and they threw the same pass a ton most of the time with one receiver blocking and got 8-12 yards every time so I see why frost uses it obviously you have to execute your assignment in order for it to work.
Soooo, keep using it even though it hasn't worked well all year long? I don't really care what was used at UCF. It hasn't worked at Nebraska with these players. Maybe adjust and don't use it that much.

We need to throw more swing passes. Especially when Adrian is QB. He's really good at those passes

Wishing we hadn't used him for that one play in the 3 games prior to Maryland.....Gonna need some RB help Friday.....
Yeah, I think this can be a learning experience for this staff.
It is unfortunate though. I really think Rahmir would have given this offense a boost vs Iowa. Iowa tends to be good at defending at the point of attack in the middle. There are yards that can be gotten on the outside. Mills hasn't been too good at getting the edge.

I trust we can get a push, D line has been pretty solid. We need the backers to make plays behind that push
If the backers have a good day, I like Nebraska's chances. D-line, for what they are being asked to do, have indeed been pretty solid all year. I just have a feeling the Iowa game is going to be a strange one (not necessarily in a bad way).

FG locker has looked pretty good. That last kick looked really good. Hopefully he can keep being consistent

It seems like Martinez is better when he's not in the pocket

The only play Martinez is really good at

Watch the defensive line use their hands. That's good to see

We will trade Martinez to them for a sixth round pick

I'm not really sure what it means. I stopped buying this after the first season when the players that wanted out, left.
I will say, Frost's comments during interviews probably didn't help team chemistry. When watching the last four or five games, I definitely didn't get the feeling certain players weren't trying or were loafing around. Then again, I'm not an insider, so I don't know what was being said during practice or lifting. I can only go off what I saw on Saturdays.
