They are struggling in year 4 with moving tickets. The stadium will be 20k short next season if you stroll into another year with a losing record. Now look at the lost revenue and interest overall from that each home game. Merchandise wont be moving off the shelves like it was before etc.

The streak ends in five days.  I just got an email from the LJS quoting Frost begging people to come to the game.  I can buy tickets direct from the UNL-AD right now.   Coivd has people scared and the product on the field has people wondering if we win two games this year.  If we win less than five games it wont matter if we keep Frost, thousands wont turn out for anything next year no matter who we hire.

This is a very hard place to coach at. You have fans that are insane about football. Pressure on your kids that you would otherwise see at a school that finishes in the top 10 every year.

    .

Get out of your bubble and you'll realize no one cares anymore.

Because we can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Do you only want to talk about the problems on offense? How about only defense? Both? Because if you can do both, you can add a conversation about crappy Big Ten refs in as well.

It seems its what we've been talking about since joining the Big, and we b!^@hed about it during the Big 12 days, and the Big 8.  Refs are terrible.

7-4 minimum.  And that's a BARE minimum.  I was excited for the hire.  he needs to just quit talking and flush his pride.  His scheme, staff, style insert "whatever here" isn't working and IMHO won't. Ever.  In the B1G.

Possibly.  I think there will be dump trucks full of excuses about this season, and not just here [Cough] Michigan [Cough] Lincoln media was hedging in the days to kickoff at tOSU.  I'm so numb to it I have no idea in the end, probably why I set my expectations so low, I have no reason to hope.

    Serious question for everyone:

How many games do you think Frost needs to win next year to safe his job? Bowl eligible? Win the division?

At least go 500 and be competitive in all they drop.  This season was seemed to be toted as "if we win great if not COIVD".  No clue f that holds true if we win one game tho.

How embarrassing they handed out black shirts this week and we are currently repping black jerseys with the bones on them while in Memorial Stadium while absolutely s#!tting the bed. Retire the blackshirts for the next decade until we become relevant again and until they stop making the tradition an absolute joke. Frost’s old teammates should be telling him this too.

100% This.  No more until they actually earn it.  Or just get rid of it

Fortunately, there are a lot of other people that'll snatch those tickets up right quick. If I had the money, I would, for sure. Losing seasons or not, the Red runs deep in this state, and we'll keep showing up, in all kinds of weather.

Those people waiting for tickets are getting scarce.  With better TV coverage, a continued poor product on field and the fact games continue to get longer with more pauses in the action makes for a worse experience in the stands.  Evidence can be seen with NU slowly removing seats and reports of tickets remaining deep into the summer a few years ago.

  8. Let mine lapse about eight years ago.  Took the "donation" and turned it into a 65 inch plasma and enjoy watching from home.  I was mainly sick of the people around me selling their seats 95% of the time and only showing for the "big" games and when they did show they'd spend most of their time telling people to sit down.

Now we tailgate and head home when the rest go to the stadium.  We can pick up BBQ on the way and still make it home before kick off.

A team that didn't win its conference shouldn't be able to play for the national title.  I thought we established this long ago.

Who is "we" if you mean The Committee, then no they never applied that logic, see 13 months ago.

The BIG, Big XII, PAC and ACC should withdraw from the NCAA and start their own association

This isn't an NCAA event, the bowl system is outside NCAA control.

The committee decides to have an LSU vs Alabama re-match for the MNC

The BCS computers picked that game and that event was the watershed moment when everyone agreed something had to be done, taking us to the committee.

Incidentally, what kind of arguments would we have this year without a playoff?  Which two out of Clemson, Auburn and Oklahoma would get in?

The old Champ-game-pick-a-matron has Clemson v OU.

Reports confirming Les Miles has been contacted by Phil. If they pull Les Miles and Tee Martin as OC/Coach in Waiting, that's a hell of a salvage job considering what could have happened.

Best possible outcome.  Not a long-term solution since he's 64,  he should get things moving the right direction.

ull of venom and hate for the Husker program, the State of Nebraska, and now Scott Frost, have no basis in what they are all actually arguing over

Have you seen the crap Nebraska "fans" have been spewing all over their boards?  It's absolutely pathetic and embarrassing.

Are you trolling them?  Your posts make it sound like you are.

  13. Solich had best overall situation.  Fans, legacy etc.  All on his side.

Bo was second.  A fan fav, hand picked by the Lord God almighty, he rode in on a wave of renewed optimism for the program with an AD that promoted long-term stability over hastily made decisions.

BC probably next, somewhat polarized fanbase, still had some talent.

MR really had it bad.  A confused and concerned fan base, further spit over Bo being let go.  Years of blowouts and mediocrity, he was placed in a bad spot and unfortunately wasn't up to the task.

I thought the options were going to be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.

Honestly, I was shocked it wasn't today, yesterday and last week.

If it is Frost and he is undefeated I'm ok with him being announced and returning to UCF to lead them in their Bowl game, those players deserve nothing less.

Honestly, those few weeks won't make or break anything, NU is a steaming pile that will take years to fix, three weeks away won't make that much difference in the long term.

So what I was getting at, ( it obviously has been taken too literally) is the principle or idea that you shouldn't take money for doing nothing, and the point it would make to him if he were asked to give back.

Former HCMR did not have win/loss on his contract.  No NCAA coach does, they may get a bonus for winning certain things but they are not contractually punished for losses.  He agreed to follow the NCAA rules, paint the program, University and State in a good light, encourage his players to fulfill their educational requirements and probably had some kind of "morals' clause.  MR upheld all of that.  We fired him for losing games, he didn't violate anything on his contract, he deserves that money, sorry if you are so angry you cant see that.

We should go down this path.  I've seen so many posts how easy it is to coach at the top levels of CFB, we should just hook into Huskerboard and let the posters call the plays.  Natties til infinity.
