http://www1.ncaa.org/eprise/main/playingru...BGameReport.pdf
scroll down, second page, left side. note "illegally kicking ball" as an extant foul.
That maybe true BUT he did not mean to kick the ball. It came out of his hands and when we was getting tackled the ball bounced off of his foot and our recieve caught it. There is no harm in that. Thanks anyways oooohhhhh ya didn't we win the NC that year. HAHAHAHA

1st Game at Memorial Stadium
I don't think that this was my first game because I remember watching Joel Makovicka play but the game that I know for sure that I attended was the 2000 Nebraska vs Iowa game. I remember us just smashing Iowa and before and after the game I like to go down to the tunnel walk and take pictures and to receive some hand shakes. But I remember Kyle VandenBosch coming off of the field with a N on one side of his helmet and a Hawkeye emblem on the other side. I'm going to have to go find that picture and show you guys.
Best Moment
Would have to be the Iowa State game this year because I took my g/f's Dad to this game. The last time that he was at a game was back in 94' so he was due for one. I tell you what it was like taking a kid to the circus for the first time buy the way he was enjoying the new stadium to the big screen in the North Endzone to the Jets flying over our heads in the South Stadium. I'm also taking him to his first Nebraska Baseball game on April 18th and I can't wait to see his expressions once again.
Best Game
Again this one is in 2000 against Colorado when Josh Brown Kicked the winning field goal. I watched this game under the South Stadium behind the Endzone where the fence is....you know the fence which is directly under the sits and behind the goal posts and you have the photographers sitting and blocking your view. My sister got my brother and I tickets in the student section and before the game they went to sit in the sits while I took pictures of the players coming out of the tunnel. After that was over I went to the seats and couldn't find them..hell they weren't even at their right seats. So the whole game I watch from behind that fence but I got to see Carlos Polk come off the field...I got to tap him on his shoulder pads when he got injuried. But it was cool when it got to the wire and everybody was lining up at the tunnel walk to shake the players hands and all we could do was pass information down to one another like a chain reaction on what the play by play was. I remember a girl yelling out "We're in field goal range" and then everybody started cheering and it gave me goosebumps. So anyways when Josh Brown went to kick the field goal you could literally hear a pin drop as everybody was quite. When Josh made that field goal the WHOLE stadium erupted with cheers and I'VE NEVER HEARD THAT PLACE GET SO LOUD BEFORE. It just gives me goosebumps right now thinking about it right now. To top it off I had a football game here in South Sioux City that same day at 10 a.m. for a JV game against Ralston for a make-up game and I had two sacks and an interception in that game and then go to the NU vs CU game right after and experience that game....that was an amazing day.

Ummm my crystal ball said that both Mizzo and Kansas will yet again strugle in Lincoln this year.
-
Ya we could plant this huge crop of corn outside of the tunnel walk and when our 'New' tunnel walk music that everybody wants to change since they don't like Sirus anymore, they'll open up those doors and our 2008 Cornhuskers will run out that tunnel through these corns stocks and onto the football field to represent "The Children of the Corn"
I like to eat corn as much as everybody else here but this is the stupidest Idea that I've heard since the changing of the Tunnel Walk Music thread. I much rather have BLUE TURF field like Boise State has then to put corn in the stadium (Which I can't stand the BLUE TURF, freakin ugly).....kindof cheesy to me.

Penn St @ Penn State
33-7 Miami
9/8/01
Rutgers @ Miami
60-0 Miami
9/27/01
Pitt @ Pitt
43-21 Miami
10/6/01
Troy @ Miami
38-7 Miami
10/13/01
#14 FSU @ FSU
49-27 Miami
10/25/01
West Virginia @ Miami
45-3 Miami
11/3/01
Temple @ Miami
38-0 Miami
11/10/01
Boston College @ Boston College
18-7 Miami
11/17/01
#14 Syracuse @ Miami
59-0 Miami
11/24/01
#12 Washington @ Miami
65-7 Miami
12/1/01
#14 Virginia Tech @ Virginia Tech
26-24 Miami
1/3/02
#4 Nebraska @ Rose Bowl
37-14 Miami
[/size]
Overall I think that Miami had a descent schedule but IMO they only played 4 tough opponents. And every Nebraska fan should all agree that we shouldn't have played in the BCS National Championship. Miami was impressive against an alright Nebraska team but still isn't impressive in my book.
04' USC

24-13 USC
9/11/04

Notre Dame @ USC
41-10 USC
12/4/04
UCLA @ UCLA
29-24 USC
1/4/05
#3 Oklahoma @ Orange Bowl
55-19 USC
Overall this USC wasn't all that impressive because most of their teams that they beat were by close margins. I think that the 05' Trojans were more impressive than the 04' team even though they got beat by a very good Texas team.
95' Nebraska
Date
Team and Home Field Advantage
Result
8/31/95
Oklahoma State @ OSU
64-21 Neb
9/9/95
Michigan State @ Lincoln

10/14/95
Missouri @ Lincoln
57-0 Neb
10/21/95
#8 Kansas State @ Lincoln
49-25 Neb
10/28/95
#7 Colorado @ CU
44-21 Neb
11/4/95
Iowa State @ Lincoln
73-14 Neb
11/11/95
#10 Kansas @ KU
41-3 Neb
11/24/95
Oklahoma @ Lincoln
37-0 Neb
1/2/96
#2 Florida @ Fiesta Bowl
62-24 Neb
Overall we had a descent schedule but didn't really play anybody good except for 4 games. To beat Colorado in Colorado 44-21 when they are ranked is pretty damn good since they play pretty good in Boulder. Washington State gave us our run for the money to only beat them by 14. But IMO why our 95' team was the greatest of all time.....cause we crushed the #2 team in the Nation....can you say gator bait.

KIRK HERBSTREIT AND MARK MAY ARE FREAKIN MORONS ENOUGH SAID
If you guys watch the video and at 3:14-3:18 Lou Holtz has that look of an old beagle. And both Kirk and Mark will never ever root or pick Nebraska to win any game.
-
Mason Wald has the best inate skills of any film I've seen on any of our recruits. This young man if he has the head will be all B12 by Jr yr, flat out cuts the field to the ball ratios better than anyone since mike Brown. Cant teach what this kid shows.
Dawhusker I would agree with you a 110%. I watched the film on this guy and he's a freak. He'll run though guys to tackle the ball carrier. This guy is insane. He's fast, quick, and explosive. Mason Wald will be the next Mike Minter or Mike Brown. This guy is being under estimated as a two star.
Here's a link Mason Wald To the right of his picture you'll notice a Highlight Video so click on that. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!
-
I thought Vanden Bosch had a great career at Nebraska. I don't think that he's one of the greatest Defensive Ends to come out of Nebraska but he's pretty close.
-
I'll just sum it up like this
46-18-2
ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!
-
For those of you who are talking crap about Crouch.......could you really see Newcombe winning the Heisman Trophy.....ummmm NO. You can down grade Crouch all you want but the guy did put up some sick numbers as a QB. So please give the guy a break. Crouch is probably one of our best QB's of all time and he's a really nice person in person.
-
LB's and DB's will see the most freshman playing IMO.
I agree with you 110%. If you look at my list of possible true freshman playing right away are linebackers and DB besides Baker. Alot of people are forgetting that we lost 4 LB's and 2-3 DB's. It's open game for anybody and Bo is going to push everybody to earn their starting spot.
-
I'll be going to the Baseball game the Night (Nebraska vs Kansas) before and then the spring game the very next day. I can't wait to eat some deer brats and drink some cold ones while tailgating both days .
-
I would have to say Will Compton and yesterday on 1620 Unsportsmanlike Conduct they had Marv Sanders on and he was talking about Whitmore alot....and he couldn't wait to see what this guy could do.
My list of early playing time for 08 recruits IMO:
Baker Steinkuhler
P.J. Smith
David Whitmore
Mason Wald
Will Compton
And maybe
Sean Fisher

i didn't think D'Angelo was overhype..thought he was every bit as good as advertise until he had that groin problem...the guy would have been a star
Yeah, he had a good season in 96 for a frosh, but he also quit on the team. He never delivered on his hype. Some hoser said Lucky earlier. Lucky has produced far more than Evans ever did.
I heard that Joel Makovicka kicked D'Angelo's ass in practice or in the locker room........I can't remember where I heard this from.

I honestly don't see the the cause of the lovefest for KU.
They played a lot of crappy teams, and beat those teams. 2. Yes TWO teams on their schedule at the end of the season were ranked. They were dominated for 3 quarters by one of them, and went on to lose
Then they played VaTech. VT is an interesting team without a doubt. They, too, are in the same boat as KU. They played 3 total games vs ranked teams, and lost 2 of those games. One of em they lost by like 40.
I am not sold on KU. They play smart football, but, they just dont recruit well enough to be able to hang with top teams that arent overrated.
Yeah, I agree Pujols, I mean, they did lose to MU 36-28 on a neutral field. I mean KU only scored 76 on Nebraska, beat CU in Boulder, beat A&M in College Station, beat OSU in Stillwater, beat #3 ranked Virginia Tech (Which was a 6 point favorite). I don't understand the love feast with KU either.
I just love it when somebodies team gets a winning record for the first time in years and they think that they're the s**t. This reminds me of Iowa fans when Iowa started to do great like 3-4 years ago. Everywhere you look there is Iowa crap because now they have a winning record. Come on give me a break. Yes I was happy that Kansas had a great year and too be honest I was rooting for Kansas in the Mizzo vs Kansas game. But to predict Kansas to beat Nebraska in Lincoln is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long time. If Nebraska can score 39 points at Kansas, I think that we could almost double that in Lincoln this year. Kansas hasn't beatin Nebraska in Lincoln since 1968.
Nebraska will beat Kansas and Mizzo in Lincoln this year...............both teams always choke in Lincoln.

We're done!
According to Rivals......Rogers hasn't signed yet.......please tell me that I'm wrong and that you're right.
-
Josh Gabbert
-
God + Cooper x Tom Osborne = N
Very Niiiicccceeee!!!!!!!!!
-
You know Rivals.com own knee pads for a reason!!!!!
-
I predict that Blaine Gabbert will be another Josh Freeman........he'll go 0-2 against Nebraska going into his junior year This ones for you Blaine

"He’s straightforward in everything he says,” Micah says. “He basically said to me the three main rules: Don’t get in trouble with the law. Don’t be late, and don’t ever talk back or anything stupid with me. But he said, ‘Screw up any of those and I’ll be up your butt.’ Fair enough for me.”
Exactly what we need in a coach....he should have thrown in "I don't want to see any pictures of my players in volleyball uniforms or you will be wearing pink jerseys in practice"....that would have made that little speech the perfect speech to a recruit....
Bo Pelini can just have a long talk with Joe Arpaio the Sheriff from Maricopa County Arizona about the pink boxers uniform
-
Patrick didnt get into a bar fight as he wouldn't have been in a bar seeing as he is 18.
"He was ticketed for trespassing, third-degree assault by menacing threats, minor in possession by consuming and possession of a false ID."
Ya thanks for that, I knew he was in trouble that dealt with assault that's why I thought that it was a bar fight. Sorry the basketball player from Mizzo got in a bar fight and had his jaw broken or something. My bad!!!!
-
I read this off of Huskerextra when they were doing a story over one of our recruits Micah Kreikemeier and this is what Bo told Micah:
"He’s straightforward in everything he says,” Micah says. “He basically said to me the three main rules: Don’t get in trouble with the law. Don’t be late, and don’t ever talk back or anything stupid with me. But he said, ‘Screw up any of those and I’ll be up your butt.’ Fair enough for me.”
This is what we need in as a coach and it pumps me up just reading this. Bo is going to make these guys work their tails off from now all the way to September. For all of the people that are saying that we'll have a 7-5 or 6-6 record I believe you'll be proved wrong. Last time Bo was here he had to start from scratch and had about 9 months to do something and he turned it around and we beat Oklahoma St. in our opener who were ranked. Bo is going to turn this program around pretty fast and you can count on that.
Now I wonder what's going to happen to Patrick Witt because if you guys remember correctly didn't he get in a bar fight or something in December? I know he got in trouble with the law and I wonder what Bo is going to do with Patrick since he broke one of his rules. Anyways GO BIG RED and two more months till the SPRING GAME BABY

Personally, I never really liked the previous regime's way of basically using 3 DT's and 1 speed guy, then wondering why they couldn't get to the QB. Remember the 90's when we had speed guys on both sides?
You mean like in '05 when we led the nation in sacks?
Might I remind you that we had 11 sacks in our opening game against Maine. I wouldn't be bragging about that if I was anybody cause it was Maine. We had 42 sacks that year and 11 came from the Maine game.....but we did have good talent on that Defensive side too not to take that away from them.
Pelini practices vs. Callahan practices

Hey i found a video on what Callahan was going through when we lost 5 games in a row
