  1. A woman walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding. "Of course, madam," replied the sales clerk, "exactly what type and color dress are you looking for?" The bride to be said: "A long frilly white dress with a veil." The sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, "Please don't take this the wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more appropriate for brides who are being married for the first time - for those who are a bit more innocent, if you know what I mean? Perhaps ivory or sky blue would be nice?" "Well," replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk's directness,"I can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate. Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a first-time bride.

You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding, he died as we were checking into our hotel.

My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon that we had that wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again."

"What about your third husband?" asked the sales clerk.

"That one was a Nebraska Football Coach," said the woman, "and every night for four years, he just sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it was going to be, but nothing ever happened."

  2. An article full of absurd assumptions. It demonstrates why I give very little credence to pieces written by the national media. These guys always want to act like they know the REAL story, but they are viewing the situation from a prohibitive distance.

Case in point, the idea that Callahan isn't liked here simply because his offense is too "cerebral" for us folks in the "cornlands" is balderdash. Most of his players AREN'T from here but even THEY can't seem to figure out how it's supposed to work. And SP being fired because his style was "more dictatorial in Lincoln than the citizens preferred??" Is he telling me that there are people somewhere in America who LIKE working under a dictatorial management style? :wtf Enough said.

  3.

    7) It takes two years for your players to understand your system, but it only

takes the opposing team a week of preparation to figure it out.

I especially like #7. It still baffles me that our own defenders talk about how complicated it is to understand this offense, yet opposing defenses seem to have no trouble with it.

  4.

Never said that he would want to come back here. Didn't even say that he was unhappy in his current position. Not assuming he would want to come here "just because he was born here". Just found it interesting that he was actually from Omaha and I love what he's done with a Georgia program that was fairly mediocre before he took over.

Also, if you're going to say "no", I'd love it if you could expand on that opinion a little. This is a message board, so maybe you'd like give us a little more than........"no" :box

I think a lot of us are just getting tired of the out of control rumor mill. It seems "everybody and his brother" who has any ties to Nebraska has had his name thrown out as a potential candidate. There's nothing personal intended here. You are welcome to share you views. I just think nerves are getting a little frazzled right now so people are getting short with their responses. It's going to be a LONG four weeks until the end of the season when, hopefully, TO will make some decisions.

  5. I'm spending the rest of the season rooting for all the top teams to lose.

So YOU'RE the one causing all the mayhem this season! Another 4 of the top 10 bit the dust this week - South Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky and Cal (that's based on the AP rankings).

  6. The tunnel walk was stupid. I saw it on KETV website. I can't believe that you guys actually think that is cool and want to know what happened with it. You guys are idiots.

I didn't know they'd let Pederson post on this board.

    :laughpound

  7. Does anyone know the origins of the use of the term "Bobfather" to refer to Bob Devaney? The first time I can remember seeing it was clear back in 1978 (my freshman year at NU) in a Daily Nebraskan article. (Okay, now I've dated myself!)

    :band........Disco....what were they thinking!

  8. I feel alone on this but hope our fans have hope and faith?? :dunno:restore

No, I don't think you're alone. Most of the fans have hope, especially now that TO is back, that things WILL be getting better, although we have varied opinions on how this will take place and how soon. The FAITH part will take a little more time to rebuild.

  9. I will make sure to update anyone who wants the info. I talked to my friend and he said that a phone call was planned later today and that a meeting was planned tomorrow. I will NOT speculate on what but I will tell those of you who want to know all about it.

The reason I am mad is because there are people who spent the last 2 months telling me my thoughts, ideas, dislike for Callahan and the direction of the program were unfounded and the insulted me with personal attacks when I was careful not to name call anyone. These same people think I am trying to get credit and praise for this info and they question my source and insult my playing career. I offered this info on Huskerboard.com because I like most of the people here and I have already talked to a bar about renting out their patio for the spring game to say hi to members here.

I am not posting or giving my feedback because for no reason I am constantly attacked and I consider this info 'good stuff' that shouldn't be treated like $hit. I am not catching feelings or a wuss, rather I am asking for respect from people who have been dead a$$ wrong all year and insulted me in the process.

If I don't have you on my PM I will look you up on this thread an update you after I hear back.

    GBR!!!

I can understand your feelings completely. I switched over to Huskerboard.com because it seemed to be more civilized/less negative than Huskers Illustrated but unfortunately negativity becomes a virus during times like these. I know I've never had any contact with you personally but please know I greatly appreciate any insider info you can provide.

  10. My feelings have been totally out of sync with the team the last few weeks. It started with a gut feeling we were going to beat USC and spiraled out of control from there. I can't trust my gut to make the call anymore. I'll just be listening to the game today and hoping for the best.
