  1. I heard that if you post enough "Bo sighting" rumors you will get a check in the mail from Bill Gates.
  2. a border. And the Kansas-Nebraska Act.
  3. A woman walked into a bridal shop one day and told the sales clerk that she was looking for a wedding gown for her fourth wedding. "Of course, madam," replied the sales clerk, "exactly what type and color dress are you looking for?" The bride to be said: "A long frilly white dress with a veil." The sales clerk hesitated a bit, then said, "Please don't take this the wrong way, but gowns of that nature are considered more appropriate for brides who are being married for the first time - for those who are a bit more innocent, if you know what I mean? Perhaps ivory or sky blue would be nice?" "Well," replied the customer, a little peeved at the clerk's directness,"I can assure you that a white gown would be quite appropriate. Believe it or not, despite all my marriages, I remain as innocent as a first-time bride. You see, my first husband was so excited about our wedding, he died as we were checking into our hotel. My second husband and I got into such a terrible fight in the limo on our way to our honeymoon that we had that wedding annulled immediately and never spoke to each other again." "What about your third husband?" asked the sales clerk. "That one was a Nebraska Football Coach," said the woman, "and every night for four years, he just sat on the edge of the bed and told me how good it was going to be, but nothing ever happened."
  4. I predict we will keep the yardage totals pretty close against Texas. Their offense will gain about 600-700 yards and our defense will give up almost the exact same.
  5. Whoever we get, I hope they bring more cowbell!
  6. I thought "Beano" was that stuff they sell which covers up a, shall we say, flatulent personality? Although Beano doesn't seem to work in Beano's case.
  7. An article full of absurd assumptions. It demonstrates why I give very little credence to pieces written by the national media. These guys always want to act like they know the REAL story, but they are viewing the situation from a prohibitive distance. Case in point, the idea that Callahan isn't liked here simply because his offense is too "cerebral" for us folks in the "cornlands" is balderdash. Most of his players AREN'T from here but even THEY can't seem to figure out how it's supposed to work. And SP being fired because his style was "more dictatorial in Lincoln than the citizens preferred??" Is he telling me that there are people somewhere in America who LIKE working under a dictatorial management style? Enough said.
  8. I especially like #7. It still baffles me that our own defenders talk about how complicated it is to understand this offense, yet opposing defenses seem to have no trouble with it.
  9. I think a lot of us are just getting tired of the out of control rumor mill. It seems "everybody and his brother" who has any ties to Nebraska has had his name thrown out as a potential candidate. There's nothing personal intended here. You are welcome to share you views. I just think nerves are getting a little frazzled right now so people are getting short with their responses. It's going to be a LONG four weeks until the end of the season when, hopefully, TO will make some decisions.
  10. Yeah, I hate it when people resort to that kind of behavior. It's just their own insecurities boiling over because they have their self-esteem too much tied to the football team. No, I'm not a shrink, that's just my take on things.
  11. Sorry if this was already posted: http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/?p=4048
  12. . Let's just say he's got his work cut out for him right about now...
  13. Sorry if someone already posted this but I hadn't heard about this one yet. Apparently there were students on campus Saturday wearing T-shirts that said, "T.O.'s House Cleaning Service." Found it in an article on the ESPN website: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3072127
  14. How about Planet Husker? Husker Planet? Planet Red? Red Planet? Red Swarm? Sea of Red? (wait, I think I remember someone using that one already)
  15. So YOU'RE the one causing all the mayhem this season! Another 4 of the top 10 bit the dust this week - South Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky and Cal (that's based on the AP rankings).
  16. I didn't know they'd let Pederson post on this board.
  17. Does anyone know the origins of the use of the term "Bobfather" to refer to Bob Devaney? The first time I can remember seeing it was clear back in 1978 (my freshman year at NU) in a Daily Nebraskan article. (Okay, now I've dated myself!) ........Disco....what were they thinking!
  18. No, I don't think you're alone. Most of the fans have hope, especially now that TO is back, that things WILL be getting better, although we have varied opinions on how this will take place and how soon. The FAITH part will take a little more time to rebuild.
  19. I can understand your feelings completely. I switched over to Huskerboard.com because it seemed to be more civilized/less negative than Huskers Illustrated but unfortunately negativity becomes a virus during times like these. I know I've never had any contact with you personally but please know I greatly appreciate any insider info you can provide.
  20. Yes, I do have too much time on my hands. Why do you ask??
  21. Here's the link: http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jht...ntifier=3042925
  22. My feelings have been totally out of sync with the team the last few weeks. It started with a gut feeling we were going to beat USC and spiraled out of control from there. I can't trust my gut to make the call anymore. I'll just be listening to the game today and hoping for the best.
