  1. Benning mentioned “Coach Gill” by name just out of the blue with no context.  That would be quite the shocker for a number of reasons including the fact that his boss endorsed him recently as the one who would lead Liberty into the FBS...

This what I do not understand. Our AD is meeting and negotiating with Frost. Everyone in this world and every other alien in outer space know that we are going after Frost. Heck, even the pets know that we are going after Frost. So why doesn’t our AD tell Riley that he is fired? At least by doing so, may be the team will play harder in the last two games knowing they need to impress the new coach. Keeping Riley at this point is simply a humiliation and not out of respect.

    Do we know he hasn’t?

  3. Played with Erwin Swiney, Clifford Brye, Jeremy Bender (Tay Bender's dad) and Trevor Johnson in high school and against Eric Crouch, Willie Miller, John Gibson, and Jon Bowling. Erwin was the fastest dude I've ever seen and strong as a bull. We kept Crouch in check our junior year but they still beat us. Played Millard North again senior year but Crouch didn't play due to an ankle if I remember right.

  4. Maybe it’s one of those john Conner situations where he has to constantly be running from the terminator.

That is funny unless your dad is Bruce Banner. I do not know his background either. That is some serious moving around. Were the schools in similar zip codes/cities? If they were within 15-20 miles of each other and his father wasn't Bruce Banner or his mom Sarah O'Connor, than maybe they flipped houses for a living.

It's my understanding that they are all in the same general area and 2 of them (Norco and Centennial) are in the same town of Corona. I also read somewhere that there was some controversy regarding his eligibility going into his senior year due to some transfer rule...FWIW

  5. The only thing that will obstruct you there is the Nebraska bench. Usually rows 1-10 are somewhat obstructed by the team standing on the sidelines, and you want to be a little higher. You can see most of the field, just not the sideline in front of the team.

Here's a link to the seating chart.

Thanks! As long as we'll be able to see most of the field, we'll be happy. I was worried we'd be smack dab behind the bench and not able to see anything. I can live with it if the only part obstructed is directly in front of the NU sideline.

  6. The problem that I, and many others, have is NOT that Watson is willing to adapt the offense to take advantage of the strengths of the team. My problem is that Watson is apparently unable to analyze the strengths of his offense during the spring and fall practices. A good offensive coach should be able to see how his team performs in practice and determine what they are good at, and what they struggle with. After making these observations Watson can tailor his offense accordingly and hopefully it will be productive from the very first game. However, Watson has NOT done this. I love that Watson is adaptable . . . I just wish he would do his adaptations prior to the season rather than halfway through.

:yeah Based on the fact Lee is returning next year, you'd think that would be enough for Watson to nail down exactly what offense will succeed from the 1st snap in 2010. But, what if Cody Green steps up this spring & hits a homerun as the clearcut favorite for the job? That's another new QB for Watson to figure out & yet another Watson mid-season offensive overhaul just waiting to happen.

If Cody makes himself the favorite as early as this spring, there's no reason we can't have our offense in place in plenty of time for game time. Plus, I think the direction they are going with the offense is more intended for a Cody Green than Lee anyway.

According to Sipple, Cody Green is generating some positive buzz around winter conditioning...Scroll all the way to the bottom.

"A few days ago, I mentioned sophomore-to-be running back Dontrayevous Robinson as a player who has impressed the Nebraska coaching staff with his progress in winter conditioning.

I'm hearing another name come up frequently: Quarterback Cody Green.

"He's just kind of thriving right now," a Husker staff member told me Wednesday.

    Should be an interesting spring."

Does the play at 5:30 remind you of a certain former NU QB?? Maybe in a game that took place in Tempe?? Hmmm. :thumbs

He's definitely electric, but I may be just as impressed with his pocket presence and poise. He seems to be a pretty cool customer in most of the film I've seen...
