  1. Atleast we know one thing...this team will not quit no matter how the game is going next week. Hope for a similar offensive game as Texas Tech where we chew clock and put together solid drives.

  2. Seems like Joe could take a little bit off the ball on a couple of those passes. I know we don't want an interception but on the play where he rolled out and Swift dropped it he threw a bullet and was only about seven yards from Nate. He could use just a little more touch on a few of those passes.

  3. this is NOT the same team that we have seen the last four years.

true-- didn't the huskers win the north and play in a bowl two years ago?? 2006 I think?? ;)

Of course they did but I'm not sure the Big 12 was what it is today. I guess it's wrong of me to believe that we can win each week no matter who we are playing. I guess that is what makes me a fan. All I'm trying to say is that the attitude this year is much different and that counts for a lot. If you want Billy C back to take us to that one Big 12 champ. game in a very less than mediocre north be my guest.

  4. Why shouldn't they be handed out to this team? In the past there has never been a "let's wait and see how good this defense is before we hand out blackshirts" policy. There have been far worse defenses at Nebraska who have been known as the blackshirts. This defense plays with heart and goes all out. May not be the most talented but those two reason I just mentioned are enough to be awarded blackshirts.

  5. This team may not go undefeated the rest of the season, however this is NOT the same team that we have seen the last four years. This team will play hard which gives them a chance to win any game they play in. I think we have all gotten used to "hoping" for a win but knowing the reality that we would probably get killed. I think we can stop feeling that way and start being a little more optimistic about our chances.

  6. Kind of off subject but how about what's going on in Boulder with Dan Hawkins splitting QB time between his son Cody Hawkins and Freshman Tyler Hansen. Pretty big move to dump Hansen's redshirt not to mention benching his own son. I guess that's the chance you take when you decide to play for your dad.

  7. I would say that there are way too many Big Ten teams ranked above us. I don't care how many rushing yards Iowa's RB would have against us there is no way we would lose to the Hawkeyes. And Minnesota at #36...that's tough to take.

  8. I felt Burkes played very well for his first start. However, no one is talking about all of the false start penalties on our O-Line. There are just too meany. It gets old when each drive's momentum is killed by a dead ball penalty. What does everyone else think?

  9. Lets Compare D-II 5'7 195lbs. is Danny Woodhead.

Then people like D-I 6'0 263lbs. Jorvorskie Lane.

    There is a difference.

I am a fan of Woodhead, but really.

HAHA thats a good one. I got one for ya.

    Mike Hart "D-I" 5'9 202lbs.

Danny Woodhead "D-II" 5'9 200lbs. (Official height and weight)

Last time I checked Mike Hart was a Heisman frontrunner....Javorskie Lane not so much. Oh yeah and Danny Woodhead has been mentioned with the Heisman. Once again people need to get there facts straight instead of throwing just anything out there.

  10. IMO this thread should just end. All this has ammounted to is people speculating and acting like they know for sure Danny would not do anything at Division I because he plays at a D-II school. If that is your only basis for an argument then you don't have one. I believe the NFL scouts, they know talent. His 40 time is pretty good and it is legit. Falcon's got him at a 4.41 and thats comparable to the RB's at the combine last year. Let's not speculate on whether he'd do anything at the D-I level because really it's just an opinon (often times an uneducated one).

  11. With Danny's success here in Chadron has us all wondering what his brother is going to do. Will he try to walk on at Nebraska, or will he come here to Chadron State? Danny has told the local media repeatedly that his brother is better than he is.

HAHA well all Danny is trying to do is talk up his little brother. Now i like Joel (danny's little brother) he wasnt even the best running back on NP team this year. There was a junoir at NP named Corey Sorrano who is 5 times better than joel and has a legit chance to go DI cause he is probably as fast or faster than Danny and is about 6-1 190 or close to this.

So to answer you question there is no way he is walking on at UNL and he might walk on at CSC

Are you kidding? Walk on at CSC??? Please, know what you're saying before you say it. He is good enough to receive a scholarship.

  12. The thing that is funny about this whole thing is that Danny couldn't be more happy at Chadron State. Anyone can say whatever they want about how he would do at Div. I or look at the teams that Chadron plays. There is no comparison between Danny and Marlon Lucky. All you have to look at is who has produced with all of the hype out of high school. It doesn't matter because Nebraska didn't want him and here we are looking at this kid make history. Part of me wants to tell you that he would have been one of the better backs in Div. I but I won't because there will be the haters who say that we will never know. I do know however, because this kid has heart and athletic ability. I'm not sure that anyone on this current team has both of those things. Danny is making history so lets not knock him and say what he would or wouldn't do at Nebraska. Lets celebrate him for his accomplishments. After all he is the #1 rusher of all time.

  13. I was a big supporter of Callahan. I always would stick up for him when someone would say something negative about him. But now I have lost all faith and I see the coaches quitting mid-season. They know that the end is near and they are letting those distractions affect how they coach. That is why I believe we should cut the negativity out of there now. What hope is left for the rest of the season?
