Shaw is my #2 after Frost.
He’s a proven winner but will he leave is alma mater?
Agreed. He may be 1b for me

I think we know sometime this week if it’s not Frost.

We offered the job to Scott in Dallas the weekend of 11/4. As of last Friday he verbally agreed. None of that has changed. I guess I do not know what in the press conference makes any of that void?
You can't expect Moos to bring any of that to light. If Scott backs out and Moos says he offered someone and they verbally accepted but he cannot say who for a week then what? He literally has to play the cards he played today. Saying he had a list and was doing his due diligence etc....nothing he said makes me question anything I was told from a rather hefty booster.
Not to mention the fact people are making a big deal out of his press conference comments. He flat out said he’s looking at Scott Frost. That’s all anyone should care about

Hmmm... wonder if Fuente is the plan B Hedley was talking about with the “middle of the country” line
Or Matt Campbell...

I think the best sign that we might have Frost locked up is that we haven't heard any other names gain traction in the rumor mill. You'd think at least another name or two would have come through.
Not only this, but our local media has been very very quiet about mentioning any name other than Scott Frost. OWH writes an article daily about Frost, gotta think they have a hunch who the new coach is.

I don’t think it’s as ridiculous as anyone else to think we could get David Shaw or Chris Petersen. For all those people who thinks we will break our own story on this hire, they fit the bill. I mean, you only have to look as far as our AD to find a hire that no one would think was going to happen. His alma mater, age, etc. A big splash hire outside of Frost is not unrealistic if something were to go south with Frost.

Just curious...so these heavy hitters are basically agreeing to help supplement Scott’s salary each year? Is this a formal contract or is Moos taking their word?

Interesting how many flights occurred between Omaha and Dallas forth worth on 11/3 and 11/4.......
Wasn’t this about the time he was rushing home in the event he had his baby?

Look, it would be great if Riley would stay on as a recruiting consultant, I just don't think he would do it.
Does this not make the Mario Goodrich comments make a ton of sense?!?

Folks, there is a reason why you are not hearing any news about Frost and other schools outside of Nebraska. Stop and think why that could be. All of the evidence has been out there to connect all of the dots.
Literally posted this yesterday...but it’s a big thread so no harm

Ground rules being negotiated. Scotty plays dodgeball. Six or seven days there will be reaching for the lever.
Something's brewing in recruiting and offensive player development.
Complaints on such issues as stale popcorn, cold dogs continue to be fielded...
All speculations heretofore of coarse. (Ha)
Trust Moos! :-j
Uhh... Wha?

Cause the UCLA job came open so now folks either think:
1. Chip Kelly is going to go there and Florida is going to press harder for Frost
or
2. Frost will go to UCLA
Those are my guesses why they're freaking out.
I just can't understand it... did everyone forget about the tweet from Lars on Friday night or his series of tweets yesterday? Scott Frost has not been credibly linked to any other job like he has been to Nebraska's, and there's a reason for it. There's a reason why two Power 5 coaches texted a certain Nebraska recruiting analyst this past Wednesday and told him what he thought about Nebraska getting Frost. Those things didn't all of a sudden not happen. Everyone needs to relax and just trust that the Moos has done his job. He's earning his salary...

Am I missing something? Why is everyone all of a sudden freaking out?

Frost gave them his word?
I would just say, Frost has relationships with people in Nebraska to this day. The obvious one being TO, but he knows the people in this state and at the University. It's funny to think about how this stuff gets around, but when you think where the program is you can't blame people being excited about a little good news.

I appreciate your expanding more about what you know. But I have to be honest, when I was reading the list of Facts I grew concerned that there wasn't anything that just simply said it was a done deal.
These coaching hirings are never truly known until a contract is signed.
#4 should tell you everything you need to know.

I am going to expound a little bit here even though I shouldn't
Lars Anderson isn't full of it and he isnt spreading rumors etc. He stated something that is factual. I can also tell you that he most likely was told not to give details etc out and was told in confidence. Definitely not suppose to spill it on twitter for millions of people to see.
Facts
1. NU will not be outbid by any other school for Scott Frost. Bounds and Green as well as Moos know the importance of this hire.
2. Our administration wants frost, our fans want frost, our big money wants frost.
3. Our top donors have blank checks ready to bring Scott home.
4. I can't expound on why I say Frost is coming home but for him not to at this point would make me question some of his values (I know this sounds harsh)
Well, I'm sold. This next week won't be as bad as I thought. I will enjoy going to the Iowa game knowing that the future is bright.

When did reporting turn into some guys opinion and not based off anything
The internet is really driving headlines to be the catalyst to get clicks and sell add space. "Journalism" has gone in the tank. Any Joe can set up a website and perpetuate a narrative

Anyone interested in a few laughs should check out Florida message boards. They are in full panic/denial. One even stated that they had inside knowledge that Frost wants Arizona State over Nebraska....hahahahaha

No just a little bit more on where this info is coming from. Which entity or typed of connected person

You're absolutely right and it would be hilarious if Nebraska leaked false info directly to SB Nation about talking to Paul Johnson "if" they wanted a triple-option coach.
That would be some pretty sweet payback for SB Nation after they leaked the Frost contract info.
Bleacher Report writer leaked contract info, not SB Nation

Let's just say there is a reason Lars tweeted what he did and the numbers he listed. And a reason why Frost didn't say there were no talks or no deal on the table.
Next year college football is going to look a lot different and I am looking forward to it. A&M will have a new coach. UCLA is getting so much Chip Kelly buzz on Twitter I can't keep up with it, UF will be laughed at for letting things leak to the public and end up with a Taggart or Strong (where my money would be going to now), Auburn's coach will be going to Arkansas, and more.
I would put Arkansas getting Malzahn at .01%

Frost is 100% N, I have been saying it for days now after talking to a few people with first hand knowledge. We won't be outbid period.
Can you expand on the "first hand knowledge" part?

Do we hear something tomorrow stating that Mike will be coaching his last game this Friday?
-
Sharp and Benning continued to say last night that they thought that Nebraska would be the one to break the story on the new head coach very similar to the way the AD hire took place. In other words, they continue to believe it is going to be no one is talking about right now.

I know we all have our own thoughts about the Nebraska media, but when your states biggest papers most well known journalist goes out on a limb to say he believes Scott Frost is a done deal, I tend to believe them. This, coupled with Dirk’s sources saying Moos met with Frost in Philadelphia the weekend of the Penn St game, and Moos’ dance around the question today I’d have to say it’s a done deal too
