  1. If you could go back in time and pick ONE GAME the Huskers lost and change it to a win; which game would you change and WHY?

If you have a personal story that surrounds your pick please share.

    :bonesflag:

    Just one??

1984 Orange Bowl (1983 season). That was one of the best offenses in college football history. Defense was still running a 5-2 to stop the run oriented Big 8. Playing in the "neutral" Orange Bowl played in Miami, came up inches short vs Miami. The next year that defense with many of the same players back was the top rated defense in the country. That team along with the 1982 team should have been back to back undefeated national champions.

others ( I will try and limit to winable gamesand limit to 10 total)

    1982 Penn State (see above)

the last 2 Big 12 Champ games.

1966 Orange Bowl vs Alabama (1965 season) Devaney said he didn't do a very good job in prep for this game and should havae won it. L 39-28

1994 Orange Bowl vs FSU (1993 season)

1996 Big 12 Champ Game vs Texas

    1999 Texas

    1978 Mizzu

1998 Texas, that stopped NUs home win streak, which would have eventually been record.

  2. The Eastern Washington Eagles are FCS National Champions. They installed the red fileld this season, went 9-0 at home (including playoffs). They were 3-2 on the road and won the NC on a neutral field. I live in Spokane WA area and saw part of a game on tv. It makes you want to turn your color off on the tv and watch in black and white, but they were undefeated on it.

  3. I am a Hawkeye fan, I have been watching them since I could see (41 years now). With that said I hate thier board/fans. What a bunch of whinney, rumor spreading people. It's nice to come to a board where there are good conversations, with knowlegeable fans. Cant wait to come to Lincoln me as a Hawk fan and the woman a Husker fan and do this in person over a beer.

    WELCOME!!

This is the best Nebraska Footbal Message Board!!! Very few jerks or idiots..

  4. It was a let down - disappointing season. Going into the season some goals were -

1 - Win the Big 12 our last year there.

    2. Beat Texas

    3. Finish as high as possible in national ratings.

Things started off good with Martinez but then

    1. We lose to Texas, and then A&M

    2. We don't win Big 12

    3. Even if we win bowl game we might not finish in final top 10 rankings.

not a bad year but a disappointment IMO.

  5. Without going to the grief of thinking about other bad losses, I would put yesterdays game in the top 10 of biggest disappointments ever. More than likely its the last NU/OU game I will ever see. I also don't want to try and think of all the OU games I have seen the Huskers find a way to lose a close one vs the Sooners. I knew it would be hard to win, but with Martinez and a 17-0 lead I thought we had it.

I'm not an expert but the play calling at times seemed off.

As far as Martinez, I hope he comes back next year. Keep in mind he is Freshman and its his first year playing. Tommie Frazier only completed 44% of his passes when he was a freshman and we lost to ISU who had a losing record that year. I also remember Scott Frost being booed early in his Junior year. Both of those guys turned out ok. I Taylor had a great year, at least up till when he got hurt. If he was 100% all year, I think we beat aTm even with the officials and the manhandler, and maybe OU as well. It wouldn't hurt to have a better oline and guy calling the plays.

One last thing, NU can get recievers from all over the country who have speed, height, moves etc. and thats great, but I also hope we get some Nebraska kids who would crawl through broken glass to get on the field, they seem to at least be able to catch a football once in awhile.

  6. Hopefully the aTm game will reignite the team - to drill Colorado and whoever we play in the Big 12 Champ. game, and take the Trophy along to the Big 10 next year. (that will be tough without a 100% Martinez ( I guess there is not much of a chance to play aTm again?

The on screen menu for Camcast Cable here in Spokane WA says Colorado won last years NU game 65-21. Also see last years Big 12 Champ Game playing over and over. I know it was the last one played but why can't they play 1999 when NU beat Texas? Originally wanted to play Oklahoma for title game, but wouldn't mind aTm.

What are the odds that anything will be done to the player who sexually assaulted Cotton? Better odds that Cotton will be the one punished by the conference if anyone?

How could the refs go about "rigging" a game vs NU. Wouldn't someone with a conscience spill the beans?

I keep getting a bad feeling Bo will leave when a decent offer comes along. Tell me he won't.

Will things be better in the Big 10? Remember there are still people sore about NU winning the NC in 94 & 97. Anyone go to the PSU game in 2002? Graham Spanier wrote a letter of apology in the Lincoln Paper for the bad conduct of Penn State fans.

  7. I don't know many Huskers but I assume ecstatic? Is it bittersweet at all? I live in Big Ten country with the biggest Michigan fan you'll ever meet and people here are excited to have you.

I will most likely be seeing you guys at the Big House in Ann Arbor on November 19th (EDIT: 2011). FYI, it's COLD here. ;)

Its might be somewhat of an age thing. If you're older like me you might be less likely to like it. I will mist playing Oklahoma. I understand it and can see where it will probably work out for the best long term, but still don't like it. When you get old you tend not to like change.;)

  8. I live in Washington State and don't watch many interviews done with Bo, try and read most articles. I hope I am wrong but sometimes get the feeling Bo isn't very happy most of the time. Maybe its just that he is so intense and I don't see the whole picture, just more of the negative.

What do fans think that live back there??

  9. Will the Huskers have a rare loss to a team that ends the season with a losing record?

Past losses to teams finishing below .500% (since 1962 - Devaney's first year).

1968 lost to K State 10-0 in Lincoln. . KSU finished 4-6, NU was 6-4

1992 lost to Iowa St. 19-10 in Ames with Tommie Frazier at QB. ISU finished 4-7, NU 9-3

2004 lost to K State 45-21 in Manhattan. KSU finished 4-7, NU 5-6

2007 lost to Colorado 65-51 in Boulder. CU finished 6-7 after bowl loss and NU at 5-7

2010 lost to Texas 20-13 in Lincoln and so far the Horns are 4-5. They still have to play Okie State, Florida Atlantic and Texas A&M.

Texas is 1-5 in their last 6 games with NU the only win. AAARRGGGHH
