I know there have been some rumblings, but is there any evidence that Scott Frost might be in line for a job on the new staff?
-
I think there is a bug in the website... I don't think TO's votes are getting counted toward him, I voted for him nearly 5000 times in the past day and his percentage didn't rise at all.
Wow, looks like TO isn't the only loser in this deal.
-
Is IBR actually Tom Osborne?
-
My vote would be for formed NU running back Scott Baldwin. I think he could really get some things done.
That was not funny at all.
You win some, you lose some, I guess.
-
My "sources say" that there's a 100% chance that it wont be Bob Devaney! Just what my "sources say".
I don't believe you. Name your source.

What happens if Nebraska struggles to find a new head coach. Surely we won't settle for some second-rate hack, so what are we to do? Perhaps, Dr. Osborne will have to retain his 'interim head coach' for a little longer than expected....
It's not even possible. We already know there are 2 men willing to take the job.
-
DAMN! Sorry for the double post.
-
Whoever the new HC is, what kind of reception/support do you think Husker fans will give them? Will the appointment divide the Husker Nation again? Will it be a wait and see attitude? Given the strife raging on the various Husker boards about who is good and who isn't, will we get behind the new coach? I will just because it's the Huksers. I know a lot have said they will support whoever is picked by TO.
But I am wondering, if we're so enamored with TO and his legacy, that no matter who is selected, we're in for more years of "XXXXX sucks" Fire XXXX" and that it will start right from the git-go.
I would certainly hope that our fans would be smart enough to fully back whomever is chosen...until they give us reason not to, I guess.
I'm hoping for Gill, but if it's Pelini or anyone else, I'll be 100% behind them.

Everyone has the threads mentioning the 15 or 20 people that will be our new HC. I thought we should have a post that will eliminate coaches from being mentioned. People that will not become our new HC.
Steve Spurrier
Pete Carroll
Urban Meyer
Mike Ditka
People like that.
Here's the list...
Everyone in the world besides either Turner Gill or Bo Pelini.
End of list.
-
I don't think LSU will keep Pelini whether Miles stays or goes. He could be an assistant and DC at Nebraska just to make sure he has a job if he knows he's out at LSU. But with saying that, I think it's highly unlikely that Gill and BP will be here....
Again, I just can't imagine Bo taking any other job here besides head coach, regardless of the circumstance.
-
No knowledge, just a feeling... either Gill or Pelini will be head coach, but if Gill is head coach no way do I see Pelini going anywhere as just as assistant. He's ready for the next step.
Has anyone shown interest in him besides NU?
-
No offense, but I think the better question is if Pelini comes, do we get some LSU commits? I was going to start a thread on this earlier, but figured it's already been discussed. But with LSU losing Miles and then if Pelini comes to NU, I would image one or two LSU commits might come with him. Thoughts?
Doubtful. He hasn't even recruited any of them.
-
No offense to Buffalo, but do we really want their recruits?
My sentiments exactly.
-
I remember Jamal Lord.

As far as Pelini being an assistant coach, I've addressed this in another thread, but here goes...
Can you really see a guy like Pelini taking a DC job at a school that had turned him down not once, but twice for the head coaching position? No way. If Bo doesn't land a head coaching job this year, and is forced to leave LSU, I can't see him coming here as an assistant. He's got too much pride, and would pretty much have a 'f#*k you' attitude towards us if we pass him over as coach for a second time.
Its his parish, man. The parish is what would draw him back. Never underestimate the power of family and God.
Oh that's right, the parish. The parish and the wonderful Lincoln Public School system which Bo's wife is supposedly so enamored with.

Solich looks like a leprechaun to me.

Hey everybody thought ya could use a good laugh.
Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.
In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the
year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of
sh**.
However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a
purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.
Remember: Water = Poop,
Wine = Health
Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of sh**.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service!!!
Have a great day !!!
Awesome.

We're getting closer by the day, people. The Turbo Gillini era is almost upon us.

I truly believe that its Gill for Head Coach and Bo will be Assistant Coach. I believe that tom has weighed in on this. As Individuals they have flaws. To little coaching experience, not enough fire. But together they mount a formitable force. TO knows this and believes that this system will work. Gill Has been a proven assistant coach and now a Head coach for a couple years. What makes him any different then any other assistant coach that was handed the reins of a major program. Pelini has coached blackshirt defence at nebraska and brought it back to respectable measures and is a fan favorate. On top of that is the dc to one of the best teams in the country. With TO as AD for the time being he will be able to help the unseasoned coaches if they should need any. It makes sence to me. If you are looking to make a turn around, I mean a huge turnaround. Why not do both. What would that do to the rest of the country when these 2 names have been thrown around for a month and TO is like. Were Nebraska and well take em both.
In not throwing this out for kicks or to stir the pot. If Someone really wanted to show what this team is all about. If they wanted to show what we can do then y not do everything you can to get the most dynamite staff on your rebuilding year.
Think about it.

Neither Turner Gill nor Bo Pellini will come back as an assistant. One or the other may come back as the HC, and the other one will not be with our program next year.
i agree, unless TO is head coach for a year
Give it up, people. Osborne will not coach here.

I just spoke with someone close to the situation involving the new coach at NU. Under a condition of anonymity this individual says Gill is the new coach and Gill is looking to bring Monte Kiffin in as DC.
Reading these are better then watching Comedy Central!
That's not saying much.

For future reference, don't ever tell anyone the size of your head especially if it's an 8. It just gives them more ammunition than they need, IMO.
How do you even measure your head?
By the size of hat you wear.
Oh I dont wear hats.
Then why was this found in your room?
It wasnt found in my room. Not sure whose bedroom you were in when you found that hat.
I don't either; that's just where I woke up. The last thing I remember is being at a club in Lincoln and Corey McKeon giving me a drink. Wierd.
Love to see some good old fashion homophobia working its way into the board. Way to go, guys.
Gill coming back home to Nebraska?

He wouldn't confirm it until after LSU's conference title game, out of respect to Pelini and LSU. So I do believe TO could have his mind made up. That being said, I hope its not true.
