  1. Northwestern is a team that has seemed to be wore out by halftime every week. The way our O line has played, and the toll our rushing attack has on opposing defenses, NW may be gased by the 2nd quarter. Combine this with the pressure and coverage we displayed against MSU, and NW won't have any choice other than try and run the ball. The only eyebrow lifter is that Persa and Colter are mobile QB's. Still I think we stay in the Peso and let our speed take the game over. GBR!

    Predicting a shut out BTW.

    NU - 38

    NW - 0

  2. This year we are lacking experience everywhere except RB, C, and TE.

    and WR (kinnie),

and QB (martinez has what, 20 starts under his belt...how much more before he's "experienced"),

    and RT (Jones)

    and FB (Legate)

...and a number of the OL spots that aren't experienced are because they beat out someone that was experienced (Hardrick over Sirles). We've got some young guys - but there is a reason why they are in there. This offense has the players it needs to be successful. I have no doubt about that.

I completely agree with you, and yes with 20 starts at QB you should be somewhat experienced, however, we are only 7 games into a new system.

  3. Comparing Beck to Watson is really a ridiculous argument to me. Offensively we haven't been the same team for more than a year. 2008 we had an experienced QB. 2009 we had a QB with no experience and a really limited skill set (imo). 2010 again no experience at the QB position. I haven't even to begun to compare skill positions and linemen. 2008 was the last chance we had to field a successful offense, we had a more experience all around, most importantly at the QB spot. This year we are lacking experience everywhere except RB, C, and TE. We do have some very dynamic skill players coming up, but they are lacking experience as well. The next couple years really has my mouth watering though.

Has this offense gotten better under Beck, yes, has Beck himself improved as the season progressed, yes, I think they both have from where they started the year at, but to go back any farther is pretty stupid IMO.

  4. Really, I thought it was going to be more like 4.5-5.5 in the other direction...

Sports betting might not be a good idea for you then................

Actually, sports betting may be perfect for them. If a person really thinks NU should be 4-5 point dogs then this would be the ideal game to bet on MSU. You would be getting an extra 8+/- pt cushion. I haven't bet all year but MSU +4.5 sounds too good to be true. Based on having watched both teams I see nothing that leads me to believe the Huskers will play a complete 4 quarter game or that our D will miraculously "come around" this week. Hey if a guy has to be disappointed in how the game goes, making a little extra cash in the process can't hurt. And if you lose the bet, so what, your Huskers just won a big game.

The key phrase here is "too good to be true"....Vegas knows it will be extremely difficult for MSU to get up for a game with the Huskers and they set the line accordingly...I think they come into Lincoln flat after 2 huge weekends with Michigan and Wisconsin.

I'm not buying that. If MSU wins this game they're nearly a lock for Indy. They know that.

  5. Was doing a little messin around with the idea someone suggested: red top, black pants...I have one beef with it, lets see if anyone picks it up. Its not the black numerals. Those probably wouldn't fly for TV purposes without some pinstripe/stroke/shadow or just having them white but I liked the look so I went with it. I have an all black version but its late and I realized I got lazy and the striping on the pants is inverted on the jersey. Also, not my best work but still looks pretty cool.

If we show up in those, I'm going to listen to the game on radio.

The other ones don't look bad, but aren't us. I still don't think we should change our look. But I suppose it's inevitable, after TO steps down.

No one is talking about a complete change, but what is the harm in doing it once a year?

  6. Has Bondi played at all this year or is he redshirting? I haven't been paying attention at all, so if he's the one who has been doing kick offs then I deserve a silly slap.

Either way, I sort of wish we would utilize more people when it comes to kicking extra points. I don't see why only one guy should be given all the extra point opportunities especially if it's late in the game and we have a good lead. Bring in a young guy to kick a point or two before the season ends.

As far as I can tell, Bondi has been in on three kickoffs. I'd hate to have burned his shirt for so little time.

I'm also getting very concerned with the amount of touches we're getting to our Freshman RB trio. I still think one of them should have redshirted.

Agreed, considering Rex is only a Junior we should've redshirted at least 1 if not 2 of them.

  7. The helmet should never change, but small changes to the jersey and/or pants is fine. I loved the red socks of the Crouch era. Seems everyone is in black socks & black shoes these days.

I agree the helmet should remain just the way it is. However, I wouldn't mind seeing the uni's changed up once in awhile for big games.
