  1. i just have to chime in.

Lucky is our BEST back hands down. Yes, he is an every down back, just not in Cally's system.

Disagree, he's a good back, but his weakpoint is that he cannot break tackles. I won't lie in saying that he can make people miss, but we need a RB who can make plays on their own. If there isn't a hole to break through, an "every down back" should be able to blast through and get yards when they aren't there, something Lucky isn't very good at doing. Like many of you are saying, hopefully BO will play the best players and make the offensive scheme fit to those players. Lucky would be deadly as a slot back, maybe taking some outside tosses and sweeps, and swing passes out of the backfield. I think we need a power back to go knock some heads off, and make people scared to tackle him.

  2. Hey Mods, think we can get rid of Rumorville? Isn't it time to end all the conspiracy theories? The Staff has been pretty much named. It is time that Husker fans take a more positive look at Husker Football, and end all the rumors and speculation.

This board has gotten worse than a bunch of old ladies sitting around gossiping. We should be looking forward now, and remembering the glory days so that the young Husker players and fans know what it should be like. If I didn't know anything about Husker football, and this was my first exposure, I would think that Husker fans did nothing but sit around and think about impossible scenarios and complain about staff and players. It is time to move on...take a more positive and factual look at Husker football.

No way! There is still time to spread rumors...ooops I mean when "my sources" say who the next water boy will be named for the 08 staff! :sarcasm;)

    :yeah

  3. I personally don't know anyone close to me that has died due to alcohol, but I am a junior in college, and yes nearly every weekend me and my buddies go out drinking, and yes a majority of the time we get hammered. It's all about being smart, if you are out drinking somewhere the smart thing to do would be to pass out there and stay in the morning. Also it's your responsibility to help take care of your friends so tragedies don't happen! In Witt's case, I'm pretty sure a majority of freshman in college are experimenting with alcohol, which doesn't suprise me, but the sh#t that he did was just kinda stupid. He should've had some friends there (or teammates ) to help him so sh#t like that doesn't happen.

  4. Personally I don't care if he stays or goes, If he does stay I don't think that he should be starting in the backfield, when it comes down to a true I-back he does not fit the bill very well. To be a good back you must be able to break tackles, something Lucky did not do very well at all. He would make a better slot back catching passes in open field. We need to get a power back that can break tackles and be able to make plays themselves (i.e. Green, Philips, Ross, and even Castille)

  5.

i cant help but agree, as selfish as it is. bo being a part of winning a national championship for another team after he is named head ball coach at nebraska... kinda takes away from the sense of urgency we have at nebraska.

"so bo, are you ready to win a NC for nebraska?" "i guess so"

    as opposed to

"so bo, are you ready to win a NC for nebraska?" "I NEED ONE LIKE CRACK!"

I personally don't think that we are in a "sense of urgency" we still have good players, and yes we do need to go out and do a good job of recruiting, but we have a whole new badass coaching staff that is working their asses off to do that. Its not like Bo was going to start teaching new defensive schemes and working on plays from now til January with the players.

I think that he should go coach his ass off for LSU, he made a committment to the LSU team at the beginning of the season, and i think that means alot that he's coaching the game, shows to me that he finishes what he starts!

  6. I think what he was trying to say is we need to do a better job recruiting around the midwest. I know that in the glory days there were numerous players from small town nebraska who probably weren't the most talented football players, but nebraska took these kids and developed them (with great coaching) into all-americans and nfl players. Personally i think that 4-5 star ratings from a website don't mean sh*t. You can have the world's greatest stats in H.S. but that doesn't account for what type of player they will be in college.

  7. I would love for Kansas to get a BCS bid. I think that it is great Kansas and Mizzou are having great years, because when Nebraska returns to be a powerhouse in the Big XII they will be key victories in our schedule. And how can you seriously say that you would want a team besides a midwestern or Big XII team to make a BCS bowl?? That provides some credibility to why we had such a horrible season and that the Big XII is one of the best conferences in the nation.

  8. I believe with the prestige that coach callahan had coming into the huskers everyone had some high expectations for him.. But I agree we had a pretty decent program here before cally came, and IMO he turned it to sh*t. You can blame him, or many of the position coaches, but we all agree... changes are needed, and its time to get this boat turned around!

  9. I just thought I'd add this in here relating to the original post. A few months back I was at my parents house back in Norfolk, and they were watching old home videos. It was November 21st 1987, and I was only 4 months old and I was dressed in a little baby Husker outfit and on the T.V. was OU vs. NU. NU did get beat 7 - 17, but correct me if i'm wrong I beleive OU did compete in a NC game that year.

When I saw this video it made me wander how many other Husker fans I bet were raised like this. I bet the number is countless... And although I was young, the OU NU rivalry was probably the greatest of that era. GO SKERS!!!!!!!!!! HUSKERS FOR LIFE!!!

  10. My first husker game was when i was 8 years old, it was October 15th 1994 versus UCLA. One of the greatest experiences of my life to this date. Nebraska beat um up 49 - 21. I remember my dad took me down to the sideline by the fence and I got to see (which seemed like monsters to me at the time) Tommy Frazier, Peters brothers, Minter, the list could go on forever. I'll never forget that
