  1. Adrian is a much stronger dude than he was only a year ago.  And let's be honest, his injury was intentional, so a bit of a fluke.  I'm looking forward to an injury free career the rest of the way.  Encouraged by this strength staff.

He threw at least one TD at UCF. It was a long pass.

Yep, you're right.  The one site I looked at wasn't accurate I guess.  Played in 6 games with UCF, Bethune Cookman for us.  24/38, 305, 1 TD, 1 INT (against BC).  25 rushing, 90 yards, 3 TDs (1 for us).

Disclaimer: I think it's most likely that Vedral currently has the edge for backup.

But just to be objective, we really don't know what Vedral looks like at all in-game. I could be mistaken but I don't think Vedral has seen a single snap at the college level.

Played in 4 games with UCF.  19/22, 0 TDs, 0 INTs, 13 rushing attempts for 70 yards, 2 TDs.

I think he's the clear # 2 (assuming no long term injury to Martinez, then probably McCaffrey).  I think there is a degree of loyalty here as well.  If it's not critical game situations, I'd think Vedral gets the nod, simply because he won't lose you the game, moved with the staff, knows the offense, etc.

I got the feeling Bunch tried to transfer during the offseason and he couldn't find any takers.  I wish the best for the kid, but don't think it'll be as a Husker QB.

McCaffrey didn't start at QB at Valor Christian until his senior season of 2018.  His brother Dylan was ahead of him in 2016, and is now at Michigan.  Blake Stenstrom was ahead of him in 2017, and is now at Colorado.  That's two Power 5 QB recruits ahead of him.  I am sure Luke was doing plenty of QB work prior to 2018, but because he was so athletic, he primarily played WR and CB before his senior season.

Thanks.  That's what I thought I'd read as well.  I believe Dylan saw a little bit of playing time at Michigan last year and was pretty impressive, at least with his feet anyway.

EDIT - Now I see why I remember Dylan.  Had his best game against us last year, including a 56 yard pass.

  5. If I recall, McCaffrey didn't play QB till his senior season.  We know he's got the athleticism to make plays, but maybe they want him to continue to mature into a better decision maker before they commit him to any playing time.  I'd like Vedral getting mop up duties at QB2, with maybe McCaffrey seeing the field a little later in the season.  Without burning his redshirt.  I think he looked like he could put on a few pounds of muscle before serious playing time as well.

I'll be honest. He doesn't look that fast.

From his videos, he's clearly the fastest player on the field.  Leaves everyone in the dust.  He does have a kind of easy, effortless, stride that might appear slower on film.  I haven't seen anyone catch him from behind though.

You know who dealt with him the best?  His HS coach.  Sat him during drives, yanked him from drives for being a dick.

So there might be something seriously wrong with this kid then, if discipline apparently has no effect.

Looking at last year's CSU roster, there is a Zach Schlager from McCook on the 2018 roster but not the 2019 roster

Only other offer from 2018 was from Harvard, if I'm reading his page right.

Glad to see this.  Miller has always caught me as a very good teammate, enthusiastic, hard worker.  Maybe not as gifted as others, but one of my favorite players because of how he carries himself. Happy to see the staff getting a lot out of him.

It could be the city aspect of it. Denver has changed a lot in the past couple decades.

Probably a big part of it.  Most folks around me are either CSU fans or Husker fans.  Generally agree that CU sucks.  :cheers

Oh, huge fan of Frusciante here too.  :woo

  11. I've only lived in Loveland a short time, but my experience so far has been the opposite of Fru's.  Very rarely encounter contentious people.  I have no desire to visit Denver or Boulder, so maybe that's part of why I've only been around pleasant people.

What's the worst thing that anyone in this thread has had happen to them specifically by Colorado fans? All the urban legend stories always seem to be at least one degree of separation away from the people telling them.

I am a new resident in Colorado.  In my line of work, we had the local fire department send all of their fire fighters to our facility for walk-throughs.  We were proudly wearing our Husker gear during a few of these, and had some fun conversations, especially with some of the Buffalo fans.  They openly admitted that there is a fair share of very bad fans in their fanbase.  They told me if I wanted to go to the game this year in Boulder, they would accompany me, and to not attempt to go by myself, or with just other Husker fans.  They basically guaranteed that something bad would happen if I did.
