Guess what, that probably isn't the last violation at Nebraska. I am sure they have self reported infractions just like OSU but a newpaper or blog hasn't requested the public records.  It is foolish to think that a coach at Nebraska hasn't accidentally texted a recruit when they shouldn't have at least once in the last 2 years or some of the other stuff that OSU self reported.

Maybe.  We aren't unique, or immune, from petty violations like any other school.  However, I would have to imagine coaches and staff are frequently and thoroughly reminded what the rules are.  There's so many, and some are rather subtle, that a program probably has frequent meetings solely on these rules.  And before clicking send, I'm sure a lot of coaches get proper advice, just to make sure.  We're obviously a little, a lot, biased here, but most agree the integrity of this coaching staff is pretty high.

  2. I totally thought that was John Candy till now as well.   :dunno

Oh, and funny story about the sharing of the account.  I shared it with my brother and his family.  The other folks I've shared it with just get me lunch every once in a while or something, not that I ask.  My brother has decided to mail me a card and a $10 check every month.  Jeez, it's not even worth going to bank for that!

Reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry finally cashed in all those checks his grandma had been giving him for years, and it bounced.

  3. What do you see in his film that makes you think this?  He's already a beast of a man, combined with a high motor, development by this staff.  I see nothing that would suggest he doesn't have a very good career at Nebraska.

This guy will not only be the next SUH but surpass him in my estimation.    Rich Glover, SUH, now Polar Bear

Let's pump the brakes a bit.  The kid's already being compared to an enormous carnivore.

   ;)

  5. Moiraine, I think you're probably right about the outside influences causing parents to be overprotective.  When all they see in the news, social media, etc. is horror stories of kids getting hurt or killed, they tend to overreact so it doesn't happen to them.

A fastpitch softball, I'm told by a friend who played college ball, gets on the hitter faster than a baseball, because, as you mentioned, the mound is so much closer.

Ha, this was our rule too, and no one followed it either.  Our wars ended when my brother had a BB go through his nose.  We made up a story, but then bragged about it on the bus.  Being a small town, word got back to our dad and guns were taken away for a while.  Eventually got paint ball guns.

  7. That's so weird.  I love the idea of bringing baseball back to Montreal, but splitting a single team between two towns is just odd.  Will be interesting how they do this.  I'm sure Tampa fans won't be happy.

Saw this on the news yesterday.  They said Papi's friend, last name Hernandez I think, was the target, and always sat at the same chair at the same restaurant on the same day every week.

Seems to me, if you're mixed up in something, might want to change up your habits a bit.  Be just a little less predictable maybe.
