Seems like he's found the right job. He's proven he can raise money for husker athletics. He's no boyscout but that fits the grey-area world of NIL, it is largely buying/paying-off players under the guise of them marketing themselves afterall.
Kudos for the Thomas Sowell quote..just got another t-shrit of him over the weekend. Brilliant man.

MJ still gets his audition. But why not Meyer? Can we not have nice things here? We were once excited about getting Fred Hoiberg and thought we could not pull that one off. Yeah, I get we might have buyers remorse on that one. But for Pete's sake, we cling too tightly to our dignity and illusions.

UNL and the fans have a very high opinion of themselves ( to justify not going after Urban Meyer) that is not translating into a relevant program any longer. Can't serve beer because of their image. Can't fire a coach because of their image. Can't hire certain coaches because of their image. And on it goes... We are not relevant anymore, unless one is scheduling a homecoming game. I think that would be a mistake to over look him. If you want to be relevant be bold. Swing large and have a stretch goal. 'Redemption in the Heartland' would make a nice title for the mrs and I to watch on the Oxygen/Hallmark Channel in 10 years.

Neon Deion Sanders? 2-0 and heck of a recruiter.

Mike Locksley would be the death of the program. FIre a loser and hire an even bigger loser.
I hope that was a drunken misunderstanding in stating Locksley on Thursday- who doesn't day drink?.. I had to ask twice just to make sure he was no saying someone born in Maryland... I would give it 18% credence on Locksley.

I'm so old, I remember when the nickname "The Scoring Explosion" applied to the Husker offense instead of the defense.

I hate to even type this, take it for what it is worth (where the hell is "Sock Puppet" when he is needed), but.....I had a booster tell me Trev is looking hard hard at Mike Locksley, from Maryland....of course, 8 hours later, another one told me Campbell/Meyer- I was thinking Meyer is in town this week with the OU game- what a great way for him to see our new $160M facility that casts a shadow over Memorial Stadium. Some of the $$ people hate the idea of Meyer- ok- so what? The guy would sell a ton of "real" tickets- sell-out streak intact, we would be relevant again and where the heck do we get off thinking "Nebraska is too good to hire a guy with a few skeletons in the closet"? Do we prefer they create those skeletons while her on our watch? I hear we need a good motivator- many of the names listed on this thread are those types of guys. Either way- The Frost experiment is coming to an end shortly. The league has adjusted to his coaching rather rapidly.
It has been said many times here: There are no moral victories. I will have to continue to explain to people why being "close enough" and "almost there" is a load of crap, especially after watching last night's debacle.

I was thinking the same thing. I expected and except AM to have some big days providing he stays healthy. Mizzery will be a better test for him next week.
"Some fans may feel underwhelmed with what he showed them in this game. To be fair, though, he didn’t need to do anything special to lead his team to this victory. The Wildcats won so easily that coaches pulled him at the end of the third quarter and let third-stringer Jake Rubley finish things out."

Just got back last week from 10 days in England. We spotted a couple Husker promotional posters on their tube system. Pretty cool to see that across the pond. That got me excited and contemplated if we should have stayed another 15 days and watch the Huskers in Ireland. So far this week, as I am traveling parts of the state, people are very excited (or curious) to see what we will have on the field this weekend. We will learn a lot and then we have two weeks where we will learn very little (due to our opponent). I just hope HCSF checked the portal one last time before taking off just to see if anyone else is out there lol...GBR and I so love the weekly prediction contest. We will win them all except Purdue

Yes- I know at least 16 people attending. Huskers will have a great showing in Dublin

Just got the word from NU Athletics: Fred Hoiberg has dismissed Doc Sadler.

I do not recall leaving. a Husker basketball game 8 minutes into the second half. It was a hard game to watch/attend

And he actually held on to the ball when he was trapped, because he wanted to be the one to shoot the free throws; if he passes out of the trap, I like our chances with some other shooters at the line (although McGowan did keep us from winning the North Carolina State game in the same situation)
I was there. Not only we needed half the bench to tell Mayen to go play defense after his dunk and posing for pictures We had a wide open guy down the court for an easy lay-up game over....if you are going to be the guy who holds onto the ball, at least make those free throws. I come from an old school coach who always believed to get rid of the ball in. a full court/trap situation. I think I am part of the minority esp when I watch other games or still play in my basketball league.
Who should our next HC be?

Agreed... I believe we already have a person who was vetted last year.
