  1. This is the guy I like the best. He is currently bringing in $850,000. Could a $700,000 raise persuade him to leave the land of the potato? I think this is a guy we could be proud to have as coach. His mannerisms reflects our better than BP. Granted, BP gives us that intial jolt, but what happens in a couple of years if we have a down year and BP starts talking that smack we have seen in the past? I think by then it would wear a little thin. If he was god's gift to football, he would have been hired last year. BP might be damaged goods. If he is hired next week, I will support him (BP). But, I am hoping we can still do better. We dont have to settle. "Hayden, I'm not ashamed to admit I come from a long line of settlers" - Luther Van Dam "Coach" one of the best shows on at 5 AM

  2. I thought we were in trouble last year when we did not beat Texas at home in the snow, with them starting a freshman QB. I still say NP's grandma could have pulled that one out as well as the K State game. Look at the Weiss picture. i still think he looks like sloth from Goonies or Master Blaster (sans helmet) in Mad max Thunderdome. Look it up and tell me you disagree. Callahan will land on his feet very soon. Hell, the New York Jets will probably take him to be a HC.

  3. I just hit the link and I think Charlie Weiss looks like one of these characters below

    You decide.

Please forgive my lack of cut and paste skills. Maybe one of the masters of the board can refine. Love to have the action figure on my profile. If anyone figures it out, let me know.

  4. I could see TO talking to Barry Alvarez about current coaches and his thoughts on who would be a good replacement. No way no how would he be in serious talks about hiring Alvarez? The only conclusion would be that Barry misses game day and is dipping his toe in the water. I think we need to either name tom ad for x number of years or tom needs to get his guy in to give prospective new coaches and idea of who is going to be their "boss" along with 1.7 million of us. Word was nobody wanted to work for PUD

  5. I would put the money on Bo. I have stated numerous times that he is the best for our short term ills, but might not be the best answer for our long term success. It seems that too many people who claim to be first cousins etc.. or a secretary of the program insist it is Bo's to lose and he is already signing a contract and will be on campus by Dec  . If we dont hire him and he goes and has success, we will be left with what ifs... and a divided nation again. It trust Tom's decision and will support it wholeheartidly.

  6. My neighbor is a state senator, and he said the same thing that Callahan's buyout will be roughly around $2.3 and the University has a $2 million limit on Pellini. Bo is willing to leave LSU depending on the conference title game. Most likely, he will not attend it --to jump start recruiting. If we are to attend a bowl game, he might or Watson will coach. Common sense would tell me that we would have to interview a few more candidates or suffer the wrath of Jesse Jackson etc... I think Jesse threatened us last time we searched for a coach. If it is all true and Bo is the next coach (ticking time bomb) I hope we can get Marvin Sanders to come back and be the DC. I think Bo is a great choice for a short term solution. I have reservations about the long term and his temperment. I think we would tire of him in about 4 years. I love his style for an assistant coach, but have a few reservations about him being our HC. He just gives me a weird vibe. The cool thing is our cupboard is not bare. We will be back and in the hunt for the north next year regardless who is coach. Even if BC is allowed to return with new DC.

  7. Possibly.... The conventional wisdom says--- new DC and revamp all def coaches: and wait for new AD in a year or so to make coach change. I am cool with that as long as we dump Coz. Of course, we all know someone on the inside that says Pellini (NOT THE RIGHT HIRE FOR LONG TERM SUCCESS HERE)has already accepted the job and the point in mute.

  8. Voted other. I like Bo, but I do not love Bo. I think he is a powder keg waiting to go off. I agree he can provide the spark this team is missing. But, I also think his tone and style would wear out after a while. Buddies at OU do not miss him much. I think a guy like Peterson at Boise State would fit our fan base the best. I really like his bio. and it seems he can recruit talent to play way out in Boise. Think what a young guy like that could do with our resources. Either way, I will support the next coach.

  9. I like Jim Rose, he reminds me of a poor man's Dennis Miller. I even atended school with him. This is his dream job and I believe he is much better than Swain. I wanted to share something that I heard while I was listening to the pre-game two weeks ago (the Texas A&M), and Jim Rose was discussing the A&M quarterback and he mentioned his running ability was pretty good for a whitie(or a white guy). I did not believe what I heard,(I even asked a few people as I tailgated before the game) until the next day when I was attending a sporting event with my daughter. I asked a buddy if he listened to the pre-game show on Saturday. He said yes, and that he heard something strange and preceeded to tell me the same story I am sharing with you. It was approxiamtely around 9:27 AM. BTW this is my first post and I see all the people who are reading and trying to get a handle on this situation. Just thought others might have heard it to, and if that had anything to do with his unusaul absence.
