  1. A part of me wants them to be suspended. It might bring more national focus on the issue.

I also think Martin is a liability now. He's going to get called for nothing because he's infamous.

Can you imagine if Martin saw the field as a rush end? With the hard-on the refs have for him, he couldn't hit anyone without drawing a flag.

  2. Per Ubben's blog on ESPN

"Despite an ugly incident on a pile after a fumble recovery by Nebraska's Ben Cotton, Texas A&M defensive lineman Tony Jerod-Eddie will play against Texas on Thursday, Aggies coach Mike Sherman said on Monday.

Immediately after Texas A&M's 9-6 win over Nebraska, video circulated of Jerod-Eddie engaging in what Sherman called "extracurricular activity" in the pile, and Cotton was flagged for a personal foul and unsportsmanlike conduct on the play.

"I don't have time to look at YouTubes and what not, but I heard something about it, I asked the player about it, and he said there was some extracurricular activity on the pile, and I said 'That's not what we're about, that's not what we coached you to do,' and he agreed," Sherman said. "He's really remorseful about it, and I said I don't want to see it again. The results and the consequences of that are between me and that player. It's been addressed."

  3. Enough is enough and I'm getting sick and tired seeing innocent kids getting screwed fro the wrong reasons. I'm here as well as other Husker fans to back up Bo and Tom on this subject. Kids are being screwed for the wrong reasons and it needs to stop.

I agree totally. Granted, Bo could probably tone it down in a couple areas, but he was fighting because he felt we were getting screwed, and rightfully so. He's fighting for our team. Look at the way the team came out after we started on our 5 after the Unsportsmanlike Penalty Bo got, there was some fury in that drive right up until we got screwed again by picking up the P.I. flag that I was amazed they threw in the first place.

I think the thing that is getting lost in this whole mix is the fact that Martinez & Helu made us feel a whole lot better about our offense when they were busting out 60 & 70 TD runs, but since they haven't been doing that, our O hasn't been able to stay on the field for a variety of reasons. Bo needs to get the Offense fixed just like he did the defense. If we were putting up some big points, there wouldn't be the opportunity for game changing calls like we saw Saturday

  4. What would be happening if we were not leaving the Big 12? Would we be handling this situation any differently?

I honestly think we wouldn't even be in this situation if we weren't leaving the Big 12.

  5. You guys realize in the last 3 games our opponents have a combined 6 penalties?

CRIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most penalized team in the Texas 12 is KU, against us they had 1 penalty. 2nd most penalized team in the Texas 10 is A&M, against us, they had 2 penalties. Must be amazing coaching going on there to improve on something they had been doing so bad at all year up until the point they play us.

  6. Imo was as bad and as costly as the roughing the passer. Correct me if wrong but all i saw when i went back and watched was their wr grabbing his arm. Did I miss anything? And that was 3rd down right?

Dennard had his arm across him and wasn't looking back at the under thrown ball, that's what the ref saw. The A&M receiver did pull him back to get back to the under thrown ball. Offensive pass interference hardly ever gets called. What pissed me off was when they threw the flag on what would have been our TD drive, then decided to pick it up and say no pass interference happened. When's the last time you ever saw that happen?

  7. I'm absolutely amazed we haven't had a penalty called on us this drive. Maybe Bo finally made a point with these suck-asses with that unsportsmanlike. Just like in Basketball, usually after the coach gets a T, they start to get some calls

  8. I'm more concerned with the post-game things that have or have not happened than the in-game things. The refs are human, they're going to miss things, and unfortunately, this year they've been pretty bad for the most part. What concerns me most, is what the Big 12 did to Eric Martin. It was clearly a knee-jerk reaction to Cunningham and Franklin's rambling. I've seen the same and even some far worse hits in the Big 12 this year, even after that game that drew no suspension. Hell, ISU's best defender tried to rip off Burkhead's head and was clearly shown on TV and that doesn't draw a suspension? This is what concerns me most, the fact that in the 3 years that they have supposedly been reviewing game tape, Martin is the only person that's ever been suspended.

  9. I will take the BCS game anyday. 5 years down the road people wont remember who we played only that we have a BCS win under out belt.

Amen to that, plus, by making a BCS game, it would lower our buyout from the Texass 10 by $500,000. In today's money, that's like 2 1/2 Cam Newtons!!! :wasted

  10. Unleash the Carn-age, and ride him all the way to a BCS bowl game victory. Shelve TMart for the year, then move him to IB/SE/WR/WB/KR/PR next year.

Just kidding. If the rumors are true, I have no idea what we should do. I don't like the spot we are in though.

Oregon may find themselves in this same boat to if their #1 gets hurt. Their #2 is out for the year and #3 & #4 haven't seen the field as QG's this year.

  11. I thought we were weak at LB, so this one really surprised me. So what is the depth at LB?

Martin really struggled at LB in several areas, he struggled with assignments and calls on the field. He also did not have the speed or hips to cover TE's or RB's which is a must for Bo's LB's.

DE is the right fit for him, but I don't know how much he will contribute this year.

    Good points there, jliehr.

That was my initial reaction too sheepdogmark, that being concern over our depth at LB. Martin brings the wood though, of that there is no doubt. So if he can't find the field at LB move him around and find a spot for him. Maybe he can be a "spinner" or whatever...although Meredith looked pretty strong there. And I don't know if that is a position of permanence anyway, or just a fleeting wrinkle we threw out there.

Perhaps the coaching staff makes this move with one eye on potential DE recruits for '11? Maybe there is not a ton of confidence in who they can land come February? I actually don't really think that has much to do with this decision, just a speculatory thought.

Ekeler also said that Martin is up to 246 and still climbing.

Lavonte David is at 220 today, expect him to get to 230 in the offseason.

David should easily be able to put on 10 pounds in the offseason, hell I'll put on 10 pounds this weekend coming back for the NU/KU game. Gotta get my fix of Runza and Valentino's and I'll probably mix in a beer or 12.

  12. Oh. That sucks. I didn't see that thread, but now I am pretty depressed. Ouch. South Florida. That would totally SUCK. I would actually be worried that we might not be up for that game. Well boys, guess there is only one solution to this quandry. Start hoping for a few upsets so that we can get into the MNC.

Other than we'd be playing a lesser team than anyone else in the BCS, it would look good to lay a smack down on National TV much like last year in the Holiday Bowl. Bo would have the guys ready and would have a game plan in place to make whoever we face look stupid

  13. Why couldn't we battle against Boise State or TCU? Oklahoma made the Fiesta a few years back and drew Boise State. And I would LOVE to play an unbeaten team in the Fiesta.

In a different thread it was explained about how Fiesta has last pick this year. It rotates around, since Glendale is sight of MNC game. Boise & TCU won't be around when Fiesta picks
