  1. Just saw the Torii Hunter Jr. hit. How the hell is that NOT targeting, but Gifford pushes FS QB and is kicked out?

Savage Husker....targeting is using your head or shoulders leading into the opponents helmet. That said Giffords was BS and the one in the Notre Dame game should've been called

Yep, Big12 refs were in the booth, they were the ones able to make that call after the play. But ya know.

If they called it and it was "launching" I'd accept it. I do get the theory of the rule, but I think they also have to take into account that the receiver leaves his feet to catch the ball and then comes down and into impact of the DB. I don't think the DB was "targeting" Hunter Jr, but ended up going head/shoulder into Hunter Jr.

  2. Updated forecast for tomorrow....100% chance of hangover

  3. One of my favorite games to attend. I taught and coached a few K-State players in HS and they got me tickets in the family/friends section. By halftime I had a whole row of seats to myself. Loved every minute of it! Unfortunately, that was that last game in Martinez's career that he was healthy, but he looked damn good that night!
  4. Gurley tears ACL in his first game back, can you say Karma?

I guess i dont have a problem with Gurley signing autographs for money. I always thought they should be able to do such things. Colleges paying players? Absolutely not. Players making money of their name? Sure. Why not. And hell, Gurley at least admitted to it and took his lumps. Winston getting his face caved in. Now THAT would be karma.

Karma for what? Signing some autographs?

  5. I was happy as hell to see a holding call on a NW lineman working against Gregory the first play of the game. Maybe it was all the beer, but I don't recall another one being called the rest of the game?
  6. We learned that a Michigan player has to go The Last Boyscout and pretty much has to shoot someone to get ejected or suspend. Nothing for Lewan last week, targeting head-to-head contact on a defenseless player on the punt return before half and not even a flag.
  7. I hope Bo puts over 100 points on them today. Complete crap call We won't put over 40, Beck will go into his "ultra-conservative" shell once we get up. He needs to keep the damn pedal to the medal and get lots of people game reps.
  8. Beck has appeared to get to the section of the playbook called "Things we never do"
  9. Thought it was funny watching Carl Pelini on the sidelines, whenever he yelled into the headphone, he always turned his back to the field. And of course, the camera was right on him at every opportunity for a meltdown

  10. Dang, that south endzone needs some work! It'd be great to do a mirror image of the north endzone, even if it was just for the big screen and sound system.

Good luck to you! (unless it was for the same position I interviewed for Tuesday)

  13. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8944240/ncaa-rule-add-ejection-illegal-hit Opening up a huge can of worms IMO. I can see it now, will not be consistent between conferences, between officials and people are going to get ejected for things that would be deemed legal in other games/conferences. If they're going to do this, hand out the punishment after a review of the hits the Monday after the game.
  14. New highlight film just released
  15. You are clearly an idiot... HE SIGNED WITH NEBRASKA And yes... I just called myself an idiot. Can you be banned for personal attacks on yourself? haha This was a surprise!
  16. Is it just me, or was she a lot more appealing when she wasn't married? The first game she did, and the announcers made sure they called her Mrs. Ponder, she looked beat.
  17. I'd love to have ACC officials do all of our games. Watching the Oregon/KState game last night I was amazed at the difference of officiating styles between conferences. Klein was hit out of bounds a couple times, took a helmet to helmet shot plus a forearm shiver and no penalties. Even saw hits by DB's from both teams to break up passes that were consistent with the penalties we were getting called on throughout the year, but drew no flags last night.
  18. I think you heard it wrong, he said those guys would only "have" to play a quarter, meaning they'd be up so much after one, he could get the younger guys some PT.
  19. On the Apple store site, check out their refurbished iPads. I got my daughter the iPad 1, and my wife the iPad 2 and saved a ton of money. When they refurbish them, they put in a new battery and screen. Comes with the same warranty as new one. They offer the 2nd & 3rd generation right now
  20. If Taylor continues this trend, he would lead the nation for 4 years in a row. Not that I'm a statistician or anything, but has any college player led the nation in a single stat for 4 years in a row?
  21. This. It ain't the 90's (wish it were) and the landscape of college football is changed forever. The reasons we had the talent in those days aren't available anymore to us and most of it was money. We could get the talent here because we had the money and were allowed to use it. That's changed now with NCAA rules. A little harder to convince some of the kids from Compton and places like that to come here and like it or not weather and location IS a big factor. And you ain't gonna win championships with milk drinkers. It has changed. Why else are there almost weekly upsets now, and every year these are happening now. People complained years ago about equality and they got their way. I think if one looks back they'll realize it isn't the NCAA rules as to why we don't get those type of players anymore. Rather, it was when we joined the Big 12 is when things changed. We weren't allowed to bring in the prop. 48 players any longer. This is when we seemed to see a noticeable change in talent. Everyone sees the SEC as having the best athletes. It's by no coincidence that the SEC has the lowest standards for incoming players to meet. Is the SEC still allowed to "over-sign" their recruiting classes?
  22. More importantly, no wind indoors at Indy!
  23. If he has a couple more games this month like he's had the last 2, he should be Defensive player of the month hands down! That would get him in the race for DROTY
