I’m guessing NU 24-7 at the half and final NU 41-17

Seems like many, but not all, of the college stadiums that sell alcohol use it to help draw attendance.
NU doesn’t need any help drawing crowds.

It would be awesome if the smoke machine started going , and out drives a big combine harvester painted with the logos, with Herbie at the wheel and it drives out leading the team , kind of like the Sooner Schooner.
Doesn’t need to come out after every touchdown, but what a cool entrance that would be. And for no good reason at all, it has a train diesel horn just blaring .

You just have to “run what ya brung”. They’re not going to alter the game plan to protect the QB because they don’t trust the back up.

There's an entire thread talking about Akron:
Oh. Right. The conversation about Akron game week started on March 1. I guess I’m late for the party. I’m going to head over to the basketball forum to start a discussion on the 2019 big 10 basketball tournament.

There hasn’t been much talk about our upcoming opponent.
I’ve always liked Coach Terry Bowden, has some early success at Auburn, enjoyed his commentary on ABC, and interesting how he landed at North Alabama and now Akron.
Not sure what their style of football is and they seem to be a mid level MAC team who will probably struggle at Nebraska.
So there’s my contribution to the conversation ..

I don’t think the up- tempo offense is as shocking as when Oregon originated it.
There are teams in every conference that go up tempo , so it’s more common now to have to prepare for it, be conditioned to defend it and ready with the personnel substitutions.

Read through all the posts and am disappointed like many others.
Gebbia obviously thinks that he has the talent to start and be a playmaker for a team right now and I can’t fault him for that.
Martinez being the starter for the next 4 years isn’t a guarantee either, so a little bit of me is surprised that Gebbia decided to bail.
All I can go by is the spring game, but Martinez just seems to have the intangibles needed to improvise in this offense. Gebbia seems more programmed and looks like he was made for a pro style offense... doesn’t have the right body type either for this offense. Anyways, good luck Tristan !

TO handed the reigns to Solich who was assassinated in the name of mediocrity by Pederson. TO returned to restore order to Middle Earth and fired Callahan and handed the Reigns to Pelini. TO then trusted a Ginger who turned out to be an assassin and killed Bo to hire the Nicest Guy in the world. TO gave his blessing to kill the Ginger Assassin and hire a Cowboy named Moos. Moos forged and alliance with TO and a Kicker of a WR to coup Frost from the South to replace the aforementioned Nicest Guy.
Tom Osborne coached for 25 years, so following 25 years of coaching Frost hands off the reigns to his RB's back coach Ryan Held, following in TO's image who did the same. Held's grip isn't as tight as he thought and he is unexpectedly fired by a former Alumni turned AD Trev Alberts. Alberts' is stood up at the alter by Houston Nutt III and is forced to hire Brian Callahan, son of former coach Bill Callahan in a panic. Frost returns and fires Callahan and replaces him with, you guessed it, Patrick Pelini! Frost then hands the reigns to Chad Alvarez, son of Barry Alvarez.( Fun fact, Chad was arrested for killing a parrot IRL). Chad soon replaces Pelini in favor of an unexpected hire than no one understands. This fails, Frost gives the blessing for the hiring of Ben Moos, who hires Gebbia.
Does Bob Diaco have a son ?

I agree - expectations do seem high. All of that comes so much from the feeling that this staff at this exact time is so right for Nebraska and the fact that this staff will clearly talk about fixing the issues that have been holding this program back.
I think the “high expectations” also hold a bit of desperation, because a lot of fans feel like this is the last Hail Mary to save NU. Because man, if this staff can’t get it done ... I don’t even want to think about that.

Well, maybe Gates will kick it up a notch and do something in the NFL.
I’d be surprised because because the only word that comes to mind when I think about Gates as a player is lazy.

I would like to see UCF in the playoff to see how they’d fare.
I’d also like to see UCF go through a Big Ten, SEC, PAC 12 or Big XII schedule and come out 13-0.

If you look at the comments following the article on ESPN’s site, there is still some bickering between fans on both sides.
There was one sentence in the article that even mentioned some UCF player pushback when they found out that Frost would be back. Reading into it, maybe some animosity about the coaches leaving them.
Sounds like Frost and company feels that the right way to end things at UCF is to coach this game. The incoming UCF staff also seems to like the advice and camaraderie with the exiting staff, working towards a common goal.

Looks like it was played as a regular game format with the roster split into Team UCFast and Team UCFierce.

If Frost can keep the program on an upward trajectory, I think he’ll keep even the most impatient fans off his back.
Most fans understand when things just don’t look right and start losing hope and confidence with the staff. From Callahan to Pelini to Riley, it happened.
Frost will win the games that we’re supposed to, and eventually the games that matter. He’ll get a longer leash than any of the previous coaches.
We are Minnesota or Northwestern at this point and it’s going to take some seasons to get up to Ohio St level. Any fans that don’t realize that truly don’t understand how far the program has sunken.
I do believe Frost will get it going here again.

Thanks for posting that. I’m hopeful that he can get our guys in top condition.
Good comments from Epley, though he did hint that he wasn’t totally on board with the last strength staff. I get that the head coach hires his strength coach , but as AD of Strength Training, you’d think that Epley would have some say. Future looks bright !

That was a big part of it. He (and his wife) guilt tripped Osborne and convinced him Solich was owed it for his loyal service. When Osborne was having second thoughts about retiring after the 1997 season, they put a full court press on him to force him out so Solich could have his turn. Osborne was only around 60 years old at the time and was giving increasing thought to continuing to coach.
