They may have earned their time, but look at our team and record.  They go hand in hand.

Those guys are the only ones doing anything out there for the most part.  Weber is the the best player on our defense and I don’t even think it’s close.  If anything I’d take some more walkons especially on defense and offensive line.

It's going to take a while.  Look at our two-deep.  How many walk-ons are there?  We need to gather talent and that'll take time.

Look at Minnesota’s two deep and recruit rankings.  Sick of people trying to blame the fact we have walkons playing. They earned their time and, he’ll they are some of our best performers.

Can't wait until we face Barkley next week.......................he might be Melvin Gordon's rushing record against us if Minny did this to us.

Might as wel forfeit the last two games

I'm sorry, I agree lots of offense in that conference.   I've watched several of the games.  Just not up to the level of play in most power 5

    programs.

Show me a big win over a big school and I'll be impressed.  Cincy, SMU, Austin Peay, Navy, Maryland, etc etc.........Not exactly power house programs.

Honestly we would lose to all of those.  Maybe not Maryland now that Bortenschlager is their QB.

Bob is saying this transition takes time.  Our personnel doesn't fit what we want to do and it takes perfect execution for that to happen and we aren't near that level of awareness of the concepts on defense.  Hence we have crazy talk from the highest paid coordinator at a post game presser.

No that’s what you said.  He said a bunch of Mumbo jumbo about stress and strain and reasonable reasoniness. Lmao

Agreed.  We are the poster child of firing winning coaches and hiring marginal coaches.  Georgia looks to have gotten it right.  They fired a coach with a similar record as Pelini and Solich and looked to have upgraded.

That’s the thing.  It’s been this way a while, places can get away with head scratching fires if they have something lined up.  We haven’t had something lined up ever or if we did they backed out last hour or with eichorst what we had in mind was not so great

Frost being mentioned as a possible candidate for the Gators...hate to say it but if I am Frost, I'd jump on that: more money and top shelf recruiting in your front and back yard...better be ready to hand over the keys to the kingdom.  Venables is not a bad plan B.

Who says it will be better paying?  And I think we have a better administration in place here.

Very interesting you mention the toxic environment of Nebraska. I was talking with some of my buddies this week and they mentioned how toxic the fan base is and how difficult it may be to bring in someone big.

I am sorry but this is not a toxic fan base...

I absolutely expect to get our doors blown off vs. Penn State. But, it would fit Riley’s M.O. to play spoiler in a big November match-up.

Assuming a touchback, that’d be the 25. Otherwise, I have no faith in our coverage team to stop them at the 20.

I “learned” Langsdoofus needs to have receivers run their routes at least two yards further, rather than posting up in front of the sticks.

I also learned this staff indeed does have more ways to mismanage the clock. Substituting with the clock running that late in the game?!? WTF?!?

So we really did sub on that Play where a ton of time ran off bc that defender was running off the field?  Lmao that is one of the dumbest things I have seen a coach do if that is the case.  It was a spike the ball or snap next Play immediately situation you don’t substitute.

Bo had opportunity to change his staff and refused to even if it meant the difference to being successful.

Mike realized too late that he had to change things up to be successful.

Not only that but he seems to have made things worse.  I think have a bunch of guys that had never worked together ended up being a mistake.  The DC probably should have mostly brought his people in.

I won't argue that he was a good DC, but to say bad/horrible wouldn't be correct after looking at the whole body of work. I would say giving up over 30 ppg is horrible aka Mr. Diaco

PEople act like that Colorado team was terrible. They were pretty stacked on offense talent wise as I remember.  I think they had an OL or 2 and the TE that had decent nfl careers and the RB’s were pretty deep.  Barnett was a pretty good coach at the time too.

I don't really have any issue with what Diaco said, btw.

Reality is, at the end of the day he's not allowed to say things like, "Hey, we'd be an elite defense if we didn't have a borderline top 30 roster talent-wise." At the same time, every coach's approach to teaching from scratch is different, and some have better immediate success than others. I'd have zero issue whatsoever with Diaco being around next year.

Our 2008 defense was 81st in the nation in scoring defense. Our 2009 defense was #1. Pelini benefitted from a roster loaded with NFL talent, make no mistake, but it still took a year of arguably bad defense for him to really turn it around.

Yeah but to all of us watching the turn around between 2007 and 2008 seemed like a notable improvement where as in this case it looks worse.   At least banker could kind of limit traditional offenses.

A guy on Scout knows Mike Riley will be fired before Mike Riley knows he's going to be fired.

What planet do people live on where they actually think a message board guy knows more about what's going on with a football team than the coach of that football team?

Welcome to Earth.  This mentality precedes message boards, it just used to be that guy at the bar that "knew someone"
