Something that has been bugging me since we walked out of Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
If you switched Nebraska's & Wisconsin's offensive lines, who wins that game? Guarantee you it's us, and we'd likely be undefeated right now.
It really comes down to five players right now.
Maybe but if we still had Langs he'd be chucking it around and running the stupidest situational plays so it might not matter. As good as wiscy online was at run blocking they didn't seem that great at pass pro

Bo, Frank, Bohl, Watson, etc... there are guys who had some really good to decent success who have coached here, but suffered from the same issues at Nebraska. What is more nonsense is you saying Frost should have had the job three years ago. You have to be out of your mind.
I expect this thread to be a good one where people look at this from a big picture stand point since the issues beg the observer to look that way. I know there are tons of people who are sick of the fire coach speak. There are also others who do not understand the logic of firing Riley and advocating bringing in a inexperienced HC just because he played here. All I ask, is that you refer back to the overall message of my post and quit saying the same thing people have been saying. Its low hanging fruit and does not solve anything in the current state.
All of those people are having similar success to what they had here. Bohl and Bo have had greater success at a lower level

I think a lot of the anger husker fans would be feeling and showing is appeased by the fact that Perlman is no longer here and Eichorst is out. I noticed that the fans weren't as negative after a loss like that as I would have expected but I don't think it's fan apathy as much as most people thinking it's just a matter of time before we have a new AD and Coach.

Fire our head coach after just 3 seasons? Seriously? Name one established coach who would have one inkling of interest in stepping into this program if that is the reality - just one. The magical coaching merry-go-round just keeps on spinning.
Man I think if you saw the record and took a look at the roster you'd feel pretty good about coming in and have an improvement in year one with a breakout year in year 2. We are a young team that just needs better development, preparation and playcalling.

if you want to know why the newspaper industry is losing money its because the articles they put in the paper now come from Twitter and other social media sites like it.
No, I'm willing to bet click bait articles are much more profitable than actual journalism so I doubt that is a primary reason. I'd say more because "the internet is free" and an aging/dead customer base along with rising production/distribution costs.

Langsdorf is not that good. Answer me this, If we fire him how many teams will be lining up to hire him? Thats one good way to tell how good of coordinators and coaches you have.
I think people would want him as a qb coach. He is a terrible coordinator though

I'm hoping hoppes. Need I start working the TE/Hb/FB on play action instead of having them block

I don't think Frost is coming here. It sounds more and more like Mike Riley's time is done here at NU regardless of finish. There is a name I've heard surfacing now for a couple weeks. He might be our next head coach if his current AD has his buyout waived. Heard from someone I know who said "it's the guy that whipped us 70-31."
Take that FWIW. I know Nebraska tried to get him in 2014 right after Bo was fired. Now the guy wants back in the B1G. Sounds like he regrets not taking the job 3 years ago
I don't think he'd be the best choice. Far better coaches to go after, IMO.
Man I'd rather just keep what we have than get Bert

I was surprised with UCFs defense. I honestly think they would beat us about the same as they beat Memphis. They aren't as talented as Oregon on O but the type of offense they run would shred us. And their D is good enough that I don't think we would score more than 20s.

Throwing money at problems when you have money to throw at it typically does solve problems. When you consider that NU football generates over 30M/year in profit for the NU athletic department, it's probably smart to protect your golden goose.
So 20 mil a year for Saban?

There is nothing to complain about in this game at all. Nice win on the road on short rest. I was impressed with it and really this is the formula for Riley and has been since he got here.
Oh there are always things to complain about

Love watching us play well, but in the end this game doesn't really matter that much. Once we lose to Wisconsin, OSU, PSU, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Iowa, we won't really remember tonight.
What if OSU and psu are the only losses? I think it should important to be open minded

After that pick six against NIll have we thrown a wr bubble or screen of any kind?

I'm sorry but we don't have any backs near the talent, size, and skill that Saquon Barkley. That's a laughable post.
Hey he didn't say how long they could run with him, just that they could

I wonder if Tanner Lee ever gets pigeon crap on him during the games.
Before the season coach took him north of the stadium, pointed to Brook Berlinger and said "I want you to be like this young man." He didn't expect Lee to take him literally.

Riley and Langs look at more mobility as a negative.
You need a good statue to draw the pass rush so you can run a play action screen pass with almost impossible to run correctly timing.

When Oregon showed that corner blitz he made some kind of call to hit stanley. I remember thinking they were baiting us or something but no they just brought that corner with nobody in an area that could cover
-
Purdue is not a good matchup with the way we play defense right now I think we have a better chance at Wisconsin than Purdue
-
We still have alignments that don't make sense for down and distance or just the general game, and we still often have tons of linebackers trying to run around in coverage doing absolutely nothing but at least we are doing less of all of that

The injuries would concern me a lot more if Rutgers had any semblance of an offense. I think everyone by now is aware that this is a team you beat if you just don't hand them scores.
The problem is, we have done that every game so far.

We are on the verge of that or more with Riley. Looking at his best season's, they have almost all had one key ingredient, a veteran QB. MR's first year QB's turn the ball over before things start to click. Once they do click the entire offensive performance makes a night day transformation in a good way.
Honest question. If this was Lee's second season as a starter aren't we 3-0 right now? He has more INT's than TD's, that will change and I hope starting this weekend. When it does, we win.
Honestly if we are going to have a losing season every year we start a new quarterback then no, let's end this all now.
