  1. its touigh to bring a kid to nu, in the middle of no-where...the weather is bad during the winter, just not that much to do in lincoln as compared to other places....but the that could be a plus, no distractions to interfere with a quality education....now if you like hunting,,,etc,,,nu is great.

  2. nebraska,s offense this year was just too predictable. a good offense would be able to spring the i-back for some long yards ,,,,and this didi not happen much this year at nu.......but you have to consider nu,s offensive line,,,,very young....they just could not open the big holes and make a push on the defenses.....will be interesting to see these players in 2 or 3 yrs from now..

  3. i remember a kid from harlan, iowa, kevin kruse...he was a running back, ran 100m, and tore everyone up in 3a..i thought for sure he would make it in d1.. he was on des moines reg elite team.....kevin went to d1 school, tryed full back, linebacker...did not work out....the big , eye opening high school player kevin quit the team, seeing he had no future in d1...he was about the same size as this kid

  4. a lot will depend on the play of the offensive line, which should be better next year.....i still don,t think we will be a top dog yet, and might have 3 loses next year..i hope i am wrong, but we are still a very young team....i am still not convinced that beck is a good offensive coach, but who am i too judge......

  5. my prediction at the beginning of the year(you can find it in my threads), was that nu would have a good year with 3 loses, and 4 was expected..i quess i was not far off....you just cannot win with freshman, rd freshmen playing...this means that the talent is not at the senior and junior level...hopefulling nu can bring in some recruits. they still cannot get a great qb, at least i have not seen it, and appartently the line is lacking, even if you get a good running back..but in defense of the lineman, they are really young a lot of them....

  6. i am wondering if the texas pipeline has dried up. nebraska now in the big 10(which i think sucks) , and it seems it has put a damper on the texas recruiting efforts....there have been quite a few texans that nu has tried to get, but have lost their commitments to texas schools.. i never liked the nu joning the big 10, one reason was recruiting.....nu has not had a great track record in the areas where they now play

  7. One of the hardest things to do is to get kids to go away from a school they grew up rooting for. And the first thing good programs do is make sure the best talent in state stays home. Look at it this way, if there is a 5* kid at say Omaha Burke, we will all say NU had damned well better get him in. Its the same elsewhere, so we tend to get the kids that didn't get the offer from the hometown team. And many of these southern states have a several schools instate. So Bo and Co. need to not have many misses. They need to be better than most other powers at finding the 3* who will out work and outplay the 5* It happens alot, wait for the list of All Americans to come out, every year there are as many 3s as there are 5s on it.

winning is part recruits, but part coaching, take a look at the state of Texas. UT is now 7-5 with class after class after class of top 10 talent, and Baylor is 9-3.

And every year there are around 3,000 3* recruits, but only what...25 5* recruits. That means 2,950 3* recruits won't be all americans.

agree...and look what synder at kansas state does with mostly 3a kids,,,,,,shows ya what a good coach can do.....got to be coach of the year

  8. yea, i agree, why don,t we have more recruits now.....iowa state has i think 24, but mostly 3 star recruits...nu is trying to get better quality players, which are tougher to get....then all the hype nu got at the begiining of the season, and then some of the bad games we had, the northwestern game really hurt us as for recruiting.. also, i just don,t think the coaches have the charm to grab players..the head coach is no tom osborn, familys wanted there kids to play for tom, he was like a father figure..just my 2 cents worth....joining the big 10 has probably hurt us in texas, were we getting a lot of recruits...why can,t we recruit florida, iowa state grabs many players from down there? and now we lost a recruit, deon jones , decided on lsu...

  9. penn state seems to have problem scoring, and i am going to say michigan is probably the toughest test for nu....the michigan state win was big, i thought we would loose it.....should really give this group some much needed confidence, espically the younger players

  10. fire bo and his good buddy, high school staff.....and hire snider from kansas state....that is what i wish would happen

out of the next 5 games, well,,,they shoud beat minnesota, if not, they will laughing stock of the nation...i am not sure if they can beat the other 4 teams on there schedule...this team could be 6-5, or 5-6.....a real possibliity

  11. This is still a Pelini defense. They're going to improve as the season goes on.

As for 5-6 losses... You obviously didn't see Michigan barely beat an average at best Notre Dame team, or Ohio State escape Toledo, or Iowa lose to Iowa State. At this point, I think we lose to Wisconsin, but we're beyond capable of winning every other game on the schedule.

On the other hand, I saw a couple people say we wouldn't see another QB this year as good as Carr. They obviously haven't heard of Denard Robinson or Russell Wilson.

Michigan is garbage, they play no one OOC, all their games are at home. Ohio State is decent, but not great. The only real team in the Big-10 is Wisconsin.

Me thinks you will change your mind sometime this coming Saturday.

nu in a good year, 8-4 and thats a strecth, bad year-8-5...i sometimes wonder if carl penili is any good as a defensive cord? there will be some teams figure out how to stop tmartinez, and that will hurt

  12. well, i live in phoenix, and i joined the big 10 network to see the game today. my impression from the game, defense did not look good, at times it did, but overall, it gave up 400 yds.....also, nu is missing the iback running the ball consisently, i was suprised how the iback was stopped continiously for little gain. if you believe nu will go unbeaten, better get a new life...they will loose some games. not sure how many, but they will not go unbeaten
