  1. I don't think Paulus is going to bring any New York attitude to Nebraska. He never had any problems at Duke and even supported Coach K's decision to have him come off the bench this year after he started his first three years at Duke. If that is not an example of a true leader and a good kid, I don't know what is. I would like to see Paulus get a shot at Nebraska. He can come in an be the number two or three quarterback on the depth chart and allow Green or LTW to redshirt. I don't see any negatives about Paulus being here.

  2. Sad to say, but I have personally been in Paul's shoes. No I am not an athlete at a major university, but I know what he is going through. He has let his family, coaches, teammates, friends and others down. I do not wish what he is going through on anyone right now. The thing that Niles has to do now is learn from his mistake. This is something that he will never forget and hopefully he gets his priorites straight and can get back on the straight and narrow path. What ever his punishment is either from the university, Bo, or the judical system, he has earned it and needs to pay the time.

Skersfan, I am deeply sorrow for your loses of your family members and your friends. Drinking and Driving is a horrible thing. I know now how simple it is to get a cab to drive me home rather that taking that chance.

  3. will attend UCLA's Spring Game and Junior Day...“My top five schools are USC, I like them a lot, UCLA, Arizona State, Oregon and Florida.”

Yeah but does USC like you?

Ya, I can say I dig Scarlet Johannson, Rose McGowan, Jessica Alba, and Vida Guerra. That doesn't mean I'll be getting a call.

    Hey, you never know!!!!!

Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 2%. Holds roughly 40 scholarship offers, but apparently he wants to visit.

I look at it this way, if the kid wants to visit then the Huskers have just as good a shot with this kid as anyone.

And if he comes for the spring game I'd say the odds of luring him to Lincoln go up by 10% at least.

I agree, a visit for the spring game would be huge in our chances to get Luc to come to Nebraska.

  5. Recruiting is all about selling. The coaches have to upsell our program so much to these recruits that they stop thinking about other schools or at least have a feeling that our school is so much better. We may not have the best weather but our coaches have to sell the points that the weather is not always bad, we have indoor facilities, and the NFL plays in poor weather all the time.

I work in sales and the trick is to out sell the competion. Just like recruiting is trying to out recruit the other guys. We have to find each prospects hot buttons and know their reasons for not wanting to come here. We have to push on all their hot buttons and overcome all the negatives about us.

The harder we sell the school, the easier it is to overcome the negatives. However, if we are not selling the school, we will not get the kids here. No matter what the weather is like, or how many championships we have won in the past.

  6. Anyone in fandom whose kept abreast of the new season using the message boards as source material seeking insight into the next team, would know that Lester has been off everyones radar. The 6'3" running back is emerging as #3 in the war to succeed the ones and twos. Fandom hasnt given much thought to Lester and yet here he comes....its these kinds of stories we all love, when we find out something about someone who we'd previously not given any thought or speculated about them as contributor..

These depth chart moves are always interesting, demonstrating that potential is buried throughout the roster, and the want to; can come from anywhere when that window of time is opened...

some guys just go through it, as if it were theirs all along.

You mean someone who isn't hyped to death can turn out to be the better than someone who is?! :bs:

Lester Ward was a 2* prospect according to scout and rivals. Scout had him "ranked" as the 170th best RB in the nation in '08 -> Scout.com Rivals.com

Imagine that...a "lowly" two star can come in and compete with the 4*'s...who woulda thunk it... ;)

No one when they are being recruited. Only when they are on the field and proving it on the field when it matters will they say that they expected it all along.

  7. I look for him to be moved around quite a bit during his stay here at Nebraska. With all of those redshirted linebackers getting action next year, I don't see him lining up at linebacker, so safety is probally the next step. However, we have quite a few players there already. So it could be interesting to see what happens.

  8. Channel 6 just went over the walkons and showed that Barry is being recruited as a TE.

There are 13 walkon commits so far and they expect 2 more.

and i don't think nebraska is anywhere near full-up on scholarships. expect a couple of these kids to get offers from the team if they show hustle.

More than likely, the extra scholarships will go to junior/senior walkons that have been here and are contributors to our team. The walk-ons this year will have a chance at a scholarship a couple years down the road.
