  1. I going to go with Suh. With Bo coaching him and trying to get the very most out of every player, we are going to see a dominating force on the d-line from Suh. He may not be the all-american that Dorsey was, but he will have a big impact next year and will become an all-conference player.

  2. It would be awesome to get another reciever in the mix. After this year, we really only have Swift and Peterson that have produced. Hopefully, a couple other guys step up and one very well could be Smith if he comes here.

  3. I think that we can have a successful season next year, if we have a coach that can come in and change the attitude of the players. We have a lot of talent still coming back, and if a coach is hired relatively quickly, then we should get and keep some quality recruits. The thing that the new coach needs to be is a leader. Some one that can get this kids fired up and get them to run through a wall for them and the football team.

  4. Here's a possibility that I doubt many have thought about.

Now that Ganz will be starting, might we see a few read option runs, much like they run in the spread. If we do, we're seeing an offense TO has stated he likes.

We now move to the end of the season where TO and Callahan have their talk. Look at the QBs Callahan has gone after. Witt, Lee, Freeman and Gabbert could all run the spread. Zac was a quick fix when we needed someone, and Keller just feel into our laps. But Callahan can show TO he has recruited QBs that can run the spread or some type of west coast spread hybrid.

Something will have to be done about the defense, so Cosgrove and some others take the fall and move on. Callahan stays, and we save the majority of the recruits, the offense moves on to more of a spread offense, and TO sees this as a win win so he's happy.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I don't think BC has even thought about running a read option offense. He has been a WCO guy all of his career and I don't think he is going to change it because Sam is done and Ganz is a little more athletic. He might call some different plays that takes advantage of Joey's athletic ability but I don't see an option read attack being put in this week.

  5. I understand the whole "get the younger guys some experience" thing. But at the same time, I do not want to throw seniors off to the way side. Especially seniors that have poured their blood into this program for the past four or five years. If the young players are working hard and have earned their reps in the game and have out worked the older guys, then yes they deserve to play, but they should not get in there just because we decided to play for next year and they haven't earned it.

  6. is anyone else a little surprised at the lack of trick playsbeing used this year? I kept expecting one yesterday... but it never came.

I was waiting for the halfback pass out of the toss play but it never came. Maybe a few trick plays would allow the players to have a little bit more fun. Who knows.

  7. Sure Swift could have single handedly won the game if he made the plays...and also played defense.

We all saw that Swift gave less than 100% effort on a couple plays yesterday. If it is that obvious that one player is not giving it his all on all the plays, how many other players are just going through the motions out there on the field. Are the lineman giving it their all on blocks? Are the defenders giving it everything they have on tackle's? To me it seems that effort is a huge problem with the team.

  8. Here's an even scarier thought................does anyone else feel that we are just getting by right now??? I just feel like we are right on the edge of having something really bad happen here. It's kinda scary right now.......... :hmmph

You could be on to something, but we could improve and turn the corner too. In this day and age where any team can beat another team, we need to win these close games even if we don't play well and get out played. A dominating effort in all three aspects of the game would be nice to see.

  9. Holt seems like another guy who came with lots of fanfare, but has yet to impress.

Just give it some time. WE didn't lose any recievers from last year, so there wasn't any additional playing time for Holt to get. Next year will be the year to see if Holt, Henry, Brooks, and maybe even Paul can play at this level.

i think it is a given, Brooks is a bust.

How is it a given that Brooks is a bust. Because it is his redshirt sophomore year, and he is not playing ahead of four seniors and two juniors? I think we get way too caught up in the star ratings of recruits and don't let them develop before labeling players "bust".

  10. Holt seems like another guy who came with lots of fanfare, but has yet to impress.

  11. 2nd team honorable mention? yeah, ok that is big stuff, right up their with Rozier and Rathman.

If we are going to compare all of our running backs to Rozier, then we will more than likely be disappointed everytime.

  12. I think the key for this game is for the defense to have a big play in the early going of the game. That big play could come from a turnover or sack or even a three and out from a pass breakup or stuffing the line on a third and short. Plus, it wouldn't hurt if the offense could get up by 14 points early in the first quarter and take all momentum.
