xxx=moonshine when its on a bottle

Im surprised you dont know that, being from a state that grows a ton of what moonshine is generally made of

We feed it to cattle to make awesome steaks!

I've had those steaks and I'll admit, they're pretty damn tasty.

'Omaha Steaks'are probably the best, you can have them shipped.....link

Sorry Mr Zebop, but I have to disagree with you. Although Omaha Steaks are pretty damn good. The best steaks are the ones that are on a different type of feed then the ones that get sold to the packing houses, Just have to have the right conections I guess, But then you would have to talk to us hicks outside of the city LOL. :thumbs

  2. We've cooled some on a 5-star DE that could contribute right awawy?

    It is true.

I think there is a bigger need for another DT in this class than getting a third DE.

Wow that's really surprising, considering they aren't sure if Ankrah will play DT or DE and Ankrah in an interview said that he would play where ever the coaches think he would best suit him and the team. I think it would be a mistake as well cooling on this guy, unless he is not taking us seriously.

  3. Wow, I watched the video and this kid has some serious speed. It would be a great get. I believe I remember watching an interview on KETV (Omaha News) Sports with Bo and he was talking about the recruiting class and said that he is hoping to bring in 23 new recruits (I think that's what he said) and also that there would be a few that it looks like might not make it to Lincoln.

I wish I could find that somewhere, but I can't.

  4. Cody probably deserves to be about have a 5.9 RR.

Rollison is a 5* talent who no one recruits due to have completely awful grades. If he had the grades he would be recruited by every school in the country.

What a waist of talent. the guy is lethal and he didnt even run much.

That's to bad, Hopefully he will get his head on straight (A little late is better than never) and go to a school and succeed. I would hate to see anyones talent go to waste, espeacially of that caliber.

Well I hope when Cody comes in and will make an impact both on and off the field. The better get, if this is the case. Not saying Rollison is or was looking at us, but I would much rather have the 4 star talent with good grades than the 5 star without the grades. It always seems as though they are in less trouble with the law or others when this is the case. Not always, but usually. IMO

  5. After listening to the game and hearing how good Rollison is, do you believe that Green deserves 5 stars??

Rollison sounded pretty darn good, but was it the fact that Rollison's team is that much better, or is Rollison that much better. I thought it sounded Like Green had a pretty good game. Just wondering. :dunno

  6. It makes me excited for the years to come when Pelini gets the guys he wants in there and we can have another great defense like '03 or '99.

Pelini didn't recruit those guys, Frank did. So I don't know how you can call them his guys. He is just a great coach that got them to play at a high level.

    :yeah

I know I am getting older and my memory seems to skip around a bit, but wasn't the 2002 D horrible with pretty much the same guys as 2003? :dunno

  7. I guess you don't know a F**KING thing about scheduling, but if you come up with the $1,000,000 guarentee to get them and the $300,000 BUYOUT to get them out of their non-conference games that are already scheduled .... by all means HANDLE IT!!!!!!!!

What makes this thread any different then any of the other hypothetical ones on here? People saying who they think should play, I mean come on they don’t have any power of that yet it is common on here. People saying what kind of offense or defense should be ran, once again no say in that but a regular occurrence. What color uniforms the team should wear, last I check nobody has the power to do that but it is brought up at least 2-3 times a year.

Where people think we should be ranked, who should win the Heisman, who should be Team MVP, what bowl we should go to, Helu over Lucky, Witt over Lee over Spano, how to redshirt players, what recruits to get, who should be the coach, what Bo should wear, when to pass out Blackshirts, etc. etc.

My point is there are plenty of things brought up on this board every single day that none of us have any say over or have any real knowledge about, however we still bring them up and discuss them. Does that mean “………… by all means we should HANDLE them”? No it doesn’t. It means this is a message board made for discussing your views and getting other peoples input on the whole ordeal. I for one thought this topic was interesting and something different to think about besides the Clemson game. But that could just be me.

Once again if you don’t like a topic you don’t have to respond to it, you don’t even have to read it. That being said if you do choose to read it and respond we just ask that it is done in a respectful manner.

Thank you for cleaning this up, for a second there I thought I took a really really wrong turn onto the big red board :bang

I really think that would be a good way to figure out the future schedules with some anyway. :dunno

  8. The coaches will find the best fit for him. But man that burst of speed he has in the open field is just crazy. I think with that and the power he shows he would make an excellent go to guy at WR. If he can run some of the routes like Swift and Petersen with that burst of speed that would be dangerous. Welcome aboard!!!

  9. I suggest you tell the past 8-9 National Championship teams that recruiting quality athletes does not matter.

It is not the end to end all, but you have to have the talent to succeed. Even our coach made a comment or two about it recently.

But again most of BC's classes were not that high on stars, they were high because he took large classes. Total points not average.

I agree you have to have talent there is no doubt about that, but I think that when you have coaches that can take players with lesser star ratings and make them play to their potential that is the key. The problem the last few years wasn't the fact that we didn't have talent it just wasn't used in the right ways like they are now. I think overall looking at the recruits red shirted and the incoming recruits I think we will be just fine. :thumbs

  10. IMO, It isn't all that bad that there is more competition now then there used to be in the big 12. This staff did a good job coaching this year with the players that they had and could see a big time improvement in the players who struggled last year. This will help with recruits. I think the competiton between schools now will prove who the best coaches are not only by the type of recruits they get (as far as stars), but also how they are able to produce with their players.

  11. Not only Do hope and think that OU will win, i really hope that he is wrong about the Husker game as well. It would really suck losing to Clemson after all of them have been tagging along the past few weeks on this board. It will be a great game I am guessing, and the way it seems they have some pretty good fans as well. GBR

  12. I think it'll be Z. Lee. But you cant overlook all the reps Spano got this year on the scout team with all the same guys that are gonna be the future WR's. If theyve built some chemistry this year, watch out for Spano in the spring. JMHO

I think that Spano has really been overlooked. It really will be interesting to see who will be the starter next year. At this point as far as I see it, it is a toss up and should be interesting to see who folds and who will make it through the competition. All in all it should make them all better.

  13. So i see alot of talk about the off season. Good to have in mind since nebraska has the bowl game left and that is it. I am a bit disturbed though. All this talk about "system"????? Especially at the Qb position. Yes joe ganz knew the "system" and that made him ok as qb. BUT what about athletes? What about putting the best athlete at a postion? lee and witt may very well be the starter next year. great let them battle it out. but what about green.. before we write him off as redshirting, give him a chance to at least make a run for his money. he is having an outstanding high school career and at this time i believe in the semi finals for state. no one told Terrelle Pryor that he had to sit out a year because he didnt know the "system" do you think because terrelle pryor didnt know the system that he isnt a good qb? that kid is a stud! and sure he is going through some growing pains but his osu buckeyes are 10th in the nation. sure they play in a crap conference but thats not the point right now. For as long as i can remember teams like ohio state, usc, alabama, florida, texas, ou so forth and so on.. PUT THEIR BEST ATHLETES ON THE FIELD. "MAKE PLAYS!'' sure there will be some mishaps along the way. but dont you get better and learn more efficiently when you fall flat on your face? just some food for thought.

Since when do the teams you speak of put their best on the field? Applewhite was hands down a better QB than Sims ever though of being at Texass. Who did Mack play? Well, it sure as hell wasn't his best.

I was just in a conversation about that the other day. It was absolutely rediculous that Sims started at all that year or even played really when Applewhite was clearly the better choice. I often wonder if Money may have been involved. <_< Oh well I am just hoping that never happens here!

  14. I absolutely believe that Suh would be really hard to replace. He played outstanding the second half of the season. What people have to remember the rest of the line benefited from Suh as Suh did from them they played well together. The first responsibility of the D-line is to plug the middle to help free up the LB's and then pursue with penetration to the ball carrier or QB depending on the situation. IMO Steinkuhler was very underated this year and did a good job and so did Alen and Potter, but Suh IMO is something special.

It will be hard to see Ganz go. I think his charector outweighed his talent and that's why he ended up being so good. I do think that we will find a suitable backup to replace him though.

  15. I don't want to alarm anyone, but do we need to be worried now that Lane Kiffin and the Vols are going to be going after Green now that they told Bryce Petty that he does not fit their new offense and have their eyes on a few other prospects? We were going after him early I guess before he gave his verbal and was still solid to the Vols until now. I read the article on Kiffin's conversation with him on Sporting news

I don't think Cody Green fits into Kiffin's offense either if Taj Boyd didn't. Cody says he is not taking calls from other schools anyway, so I'm feeling pretty good he'll be N. Besides, he's got to be on a campus in January so not a lot of time to take other visits with the holidays approaching.

FYI Rivals will be re-evaluating him in January so he might still move up on their ratings.

Thanks for the confidence boost. I read that this morning and though OH NO!! LOL should have laid off the coffee earlier maybe. :thumbs

  16. I really don't think that most of the CU fans (not all) are smart enough about the game to really talk much smack and be able to back it up anyway. IMO they just pretty much like to cause problems for fun

  18. The one thing I don't like about Joe is is interception throwing at the worst possible time. The Texas Tech game would've been huge to win, if Ganz had just thrown that ball away, we'd still have a pretty good chance to pick up 10 yard on our next 2 plays and continue a drive and win against a top 10 team for once. Thats what really got to me about Joe is that TT game. However in his other contributions have been great he has really been our offense this year.

I am positive your not saying there is a good time to throw an interception. I think that I agree with what you're trying to say(I may be wrong I guess too) but I think that Joe is a very good QB but sometimes his decision making ability is lacking, espeacially when things are happening very fast like they were that night with the rush. That's what separates him from Bradford, McCoy, and Harrell. IMO Otherwise I think that he is exactly what I said; not a great, but very good QB. I think his charector makes Joe who he is though.
