  1. Is it just me or does anyone else think Nebraska should hire Tyrone for a position on the football staff next year. The guy would be a solid recruiter and would bring a wealth of knowledge to the program. Despite being a failure as a head coach maybe he could be a solid assistant?

Too much time on your hands? :wtf

  2. I agree there may be a lack of speed, but what bothered me was the secondary seemed out of position, again. This seems to be something that just keeps happening game after game. Just an observation, but guys were way to open. And I wonder who Bo was screaming at, his brother? :dunno

  3. I had posted this on another post and thought that I would post it here on a new Thread. Some of you Husker fans really need to calm down. We've only played two games and our players are still adjusting to the new Coaches. We are 2-0 and there are some schools that were in the Top 25 that lost to schools that weren't even ranked. So I start here with my rant:

    :rant

Geez would you just lay off the Cotton subject...........we've only PLAYED TWO GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is Bo's first year at Head Coach and he brought in Cotton get over it. We're 2-0 and we should be 3-0 come this Saturday and then a week off before the Virginia Tech game. Have some of you thought about Cotton using different techniques on how to block and different footwork and all of that crap. Yes the game on Saturday was scary but we WON and that's all that counts.

We still have almost a whole season to improve and stuff, some of you are acting like this is Bo's 5th, 6th, or even 7th season as Head Coach. Some of you are acting like during the offseason that we were promised to win a National Championship. We all knew that we were going to have some problems mainly our Defense but our Offense hasn't been clicking and thats probably because we are teaching them a totally new technique.

"OMG we barely beat San Jose St. or Our running game is terrible and FIRE COTTON AND BO".....really people calm down and just be happy that we are 2-0. Hell Callahan started his first two games here at 1-1 with a loss to Southern Mississippi at HOME....C'mon Southern Mississippi. I would rather have a sloppy win over San Jose St. than to lose our second home game.

Sometimes it's not always the Coaches fault but sometimes the players fault too. Some players have some mental hangovers that get in the way or they're trying to do too much or think to much. When I referee football games there's times were I think to much and then I'd get lost on what is going on out there. There is still plenty of Football to be played and we still have a couple of weeks until the Virginia Tech and Mizzou games. :rant

I'm sorry for that rant but some of you just need to relax and let the players adjust to the new coaches and lets root on our beloved Huskers for this weekend and so on :bonez:cheers

Well........ok since you asked nicely :wasted

  4. I think someone brought up somewhere on the radio or something that there is a bit of an issue of teaching "old dogs new tricks" across the board. Something like the coaches were saying that during the games players were often lapsing back into their previous techniques coaching wise. Like perhaps one reason Glenn looks so good is because of this, he may be making lots of mental errors but the only technique he knows is what he has learned since spring.

Yep! I think it was Jason Peters who brought this up or someone on his radio show. You can't expect some of these guys to just chuck 2-3 years of training overnight. But I do expect them to start paying attention sometime, or else sit them down.

My opinion is Bo will start paying a little more attention to the offensive side of the house. He has got to learn to watch it all, don't become one dimensional in his coaching. :rant

  5. Getting more than 7 wins is looking harder and harder.

If the o-line keeps playing subpar, how hot will Cotton's chair get?

The difference between this years D and last years is the ability to adjust. But Helu has got to get the ball more! :bang

  6. I admit I at first thought he would be ok. But then came the West Coast offense. I just could not understand why he did not adjust his playbook to the players skills he had at the time, instead of just forcing it down the teams throat. Then when we went to Stillwater and got blown out in the second half I realized then that this bunch not only could not make adjustments but would not make them. Bo and his staff are a tremendous breath of fresh air and can't wait for the season to start. GBR! :woo

  7. I really believe that Bo made the decisions on his own, and Osborne may have offered suggestions, but what matters is the Bo seems like the type of coach that will correct hiring mistakes. I think that if one of his hires does not work out the way he plans, they will be gone. Time will tell, but it looks like the buck stops with Bo, no excuses.

  8. i know it was a bad year in 2007.,,,,thats why some many changes happen as a result of it. i was just thinking the other day, what if nebraska had played in the pac 10, where parity was very even last year. ,,,what do you think nu,s conferance record would have been,,,, i am thinking they could have been fighting washington state for being last in the conferance, , nu may have been 1-8, or 2-7... what do you all think their record in the pac 10 , 2007 , would have been???

Oh just stop thinking already :bang
