Anyone have any experience with dogs. We picked up a dog from the Humane Society 3 days ago and today it bit my wife. It has been snarling alittle at my children. Some people say that training will fix this but im not so sure. As my wife is headed to the ER to get a rabies shot im asking you if this is a dog i should keep around and give another chance or send it down the road. No im not stupid but im trying to understand if the dog felt threatened and lashed out.

  Take it in for a rabies test first to see if it is infected. Your wife will not have to have rabies shots if the dog is not infected. Then take it back to the shelter. I agree that it sounds like this dog has been abused-poor thing.
