  1. Can we just hold off on like literally every single criticism thread? We have a sampling size of one game. One game. We had years and years of games with which to criticize our last coach. Give the dude some time to implement the things he wants to. I remember the first season with Bo after firing He Who Shall Not Be Named and saw some improvements that I liked. Everyone knows, or at least should know, that a coaches first season is going to be a wild ride. I refuse to speculate on wins and losses because we just have no way of knowing how this will turn out. Y'all need to settle down, let the coaches coach and the players play. Let's give them both some time to show us what they can do. I just hope the mods have enough Preparation H stocked up, because the butthurt going around right now is pretty insane.

  2. I moved this thread to the Lounge forum since discussions of swearing, EZ-E's popularity and pandas jacking off have nothing to do with Husker football.

/wonders whether those three topics are somehow related.

    .

EZ-E swears he only brings the softest bamboo for the panda's to jack off with, so he's pretty popular with them.

    #related

  3.

Parading around a video from a game 14 years ago that wasn't even a conference championship, much less a national title game is just....sad. You have, what four conference wins in as many years since 2011? All right bro. Can we just lock this up now? I don't want this pit of sadness from some nobody team bringing down the excitement for our new season.

  4.

I curse way too much in everyday life.

But does it really need to be etched permanently in text on a searchable internet?

One thing I've always loved about this board is people are pretty good natured and civil, for the most part ... and understanding that other opinions exist, even if they don't agree with them.

There's really no good that is going to come out of allowing us to type using the same language we use when talking. :P

Taking one look around another forum or two around the 'net really helps me appreciate how civil, respectful, and well-run our beloved board is.

There are some real black holes out there. Just a shout out to the mods and everyone who helps keep this place a great place to talk the best team on Earth! Thanks for the work you put in.

He says as his sig has a panda jacking off with a fistful of bamboo.....

  5. Anyone else see the news story about Steve Sarkisian being drunk off his ass at a USC booster event? Think this will make it easier to recruit players from him? "Hey, do you want to play for Coach Riley or play for Coach Drunky McGee at USC?" http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/steve-sarkisian-apologizes-for-drunken-behavior-at-usc-booster-event-185224853.html

    I
have to think that these CA KJ 11 players AND their parents are going to be looking at this when making their decision on where to go to college and play football.

  6. Sean Taylor was good, but this is a real bad comparison for a few reasons.

1)No husker fan(and we are all husker fans) will pick against Suh.

    2) Suh was more dominant at his positions than Taylor

    3) a dominant DT is far more important than a dominant S

If you want a more fair comparison, compare Suh to another DT or a guy like Ray Lewis.

    MLB is vital

I'd still pick Suh over Ray Lewis, mostly because I wouldn't have worry about Suh holding a guy down while he was being stabbed to death. Does anyone really have a good defender to compare Suh to that was as dominant as he was in college? Warren Sapp maybe? I just can't think of another college player that single handedly dominated the college game in the fashion Suh did. I know other players have to be planned around, but you could double or triple team Suh and he'd still eff you in the a. It just didn't matter.

  7. I think Tommy had a lot of misses that night. But we ran a LOT of plays and stuck with it. The offense was really up tempo and wide open.

Kinda felt it was the same Tommy really, with a long way to go, just showing what he nonetheless had to offer in a performance to build on.

Tommy was never rattled by a few mistakes and bad throws. That seems clear -- it was Bo all along, and he was so scared of this he kept the reigns tight on his NeBoska Offense. Sound familiar?

I have nothing to contribute to this thread except that you trying to shoehorn "Bo" into "Nebraska" made me sad inside.

  8. I am confused by the creation of this thread. IIRC correctly, when the ESPN "Best College Football Team of All Time" extravaganza was going on and Kirk H was flipping sh#t out Nebraska beating out 2001 Miami, due to the crazy number of draft picks Miami had later, all of us Nebraska fans stated that being drafted in the NFL doesn't have diddly sh#t to do with having a successful college football team. Team chemistry, coaching, the system the players are playing in, and yeah sure, talent, all combine to add up to wins and losses.

You have to remember, Pro teams look at measurables and intelligence and character when drafting players, not necessarily how "good" they did in college. Look at Tom Brady. Bro was a BACKUP QB to Brian frickin' Greise if I remember correctly, but was still drafted. Is sending a ton of players to the NFL super cool? Yeah, but I'll take a 1995 Nebraska team that didn't really have any successful NFL careers, Ahman Green aside, over an Oregon State team sending 5 players to the NFL.

I get that this is the off season, and y'all don't have much to work with, especially with a new coach and new system, but settle down. We'll be ok, we're Nebraska.

  9.

Does ameers 15 fumbled also include his punt returns where he struggled with muffs for a while?

No one else is going to mention that huskinator said "struggled with muffs for a while"?

No, it's Ameer, of course he struggled with fighting off all the muffs. It'd be weird if huskinator said Ameer struggled with cradling the balls

  10. Whaaaaaat? Did we just get honey dicked?

Yeah, it sucks we didn't get a recruit we wanted, polynesian community, rabble rabble rabble, etc etc

What the hell is honey dicked? Screw the recruit thread, I NEED TO KNOW. Might explain this one situation I had when I woke up Sunday morning after a bender.

  11.

Newby fumbles too much that's why

Freshman and sophomore seasons for both..

Newby- 121 Attempts 5- Fumbles AVG.- 24.2 attempts per fumble

Ameer- 268 Attempts 15-Fumbles AVG.- 17.9 attempts per fumble

Listen, I don't know who you think you are or where you think you are posting, but why don't you take your "facts" and "logic" and "reason" and GTFO. We don't take kindly to your type 'round here.

Seriously though, it seemed like Newby fumbles more because they are always at such a damn inopportune time (not that there is an opportune time) but it was always when we were driving and really need some points and momentum and it just took the wind out of us. Kind of reminded me of that fumble Ameer had, I think it was against Iowa where he lost it on the freakin goal line. Just soul crushing.

  12. Somebody had to take Nexus' job. What the hell ever happened to him anyway?

Word is that he got caught flashing a group of nuns selling orphaned kittens down in Lincoln. Huskerboard put him on probation and said that if he follows the terms and procedures they set forth, they might let him back in if they feel like it. Supposedly he can't log into HB, look at HB, stand next to anyone who might be looking at HB, visit any other rival sites, think about Husker football, drink beer, breathe, potato sack race on sundays or have any negative thoughts about Michio Kaku's qualifications as a theoretical physicist. If he does any of those, he's banned for life, but they won't tell him until the last minute. That's just what Coach Riley's Yukon Gold potato peeler guy's sister told me.
