  1. I agree. I think Washington has just as much chance if not more than we do to pull recruits out of California now that there has been a coaching change. Sarkisian brings a lot of notoriety to the Washington program from any California kid who watches USC play. So it's not a stretch to asume that Washington will have more of a chance with this kid. As far as Montana goes, If I am not mistaken, Sarkisian has been coaching quaterbacks for years now and was almost an automatic to pull him out of Califonia. They will not be such a push over team when NU knocks on their door. Darn it. :bang

    GBR!

  2. I agree with the "wounded duck" comment about Suntrup. I didn't see one ball thrown that looked like it had speed on it. I know he has time to develop but he has to stop throwing hand grenades. It looks like if he works out arm strength he could be a pretty good QB. If he keeps throwing the way he did in the video then when he gets to college he'll get picked off a lot. As a former safety I can tell you that I loved playing against QB's that threw like that. I didn't have to work as hard to get under the ball or to time my hits. If he is going to throw "west coast style" then he needs to put a lot of zip on the ball. Tyler Gabbert has a west coast arm so just compare the two. Maybe NU wants Suntrup more as an athlete than a QB because he does have scrambling abilities. I am in no way doubting Suntrip'a ability to be a QB at the College level. I am limited to the same observations as most people, which is very limited. Maybe the highlight film is just not a fair showcase of his talents. He must have something in order to catch the recruiting eye. :dunno

  3. :box NU 44 OU 38 (Probably not but I never bet against the huskers!!!!!)

OU will pour on the score in the first half scoring 28 points but the huskers will shut them out in the 3rd qtr and OU tries to come back scoring 10 more in the 4th but to no avail!!! Nebraska scores 17 in the first half and then switch to a passing happy attack to score 27 more in the 2nd half. Thank you Nate Swift for that awesome catch in the back corner of the endzone that seals the deal!!

    Passing 380

    Rushing 125

    GO HUSKERS!!!!

  4. There was absolutely no mention of him on 10/11 news either...

I watched it also and you are right...wtf Scout showed as a solid verbal. Did he commit after everyone and not get listed or did he commit to late and not get a spot? Anyone know?

  5. Where did you read that NebraskaFan 1776?

    JANUARY 18, 2008.      PREP STAR

JOHN YOUBOTY, DE, 6-4, 246, 4.6, SPRING (KLEIN), TEXAS

“I visited Nebraska last weekend, it was cool.” said Youboty, “I met all the coaching staff. Nebraska coaches told me that I have a chance to play early. Coach Watson is my recruiter, he’s a cool guy.”

“I’m going to Louisville this weekend, I don’t know much about them.” he said.

“I’m going to announce my decision next Monday about 12 noon. I don’t know if I will have a press conference. Nebraska seems to be where I will go.” said Youboty.

“My teammate (Brian Moore) is about fifty percent with Nebraska. I don’t know what he (Brian) is going to do he is still committed to Tulsa.” he said, “I’m going to do what’s best for me and Brian will do what’s best for him.”

“What made me interested in Nebraska is that they offered Brian too. Nebraska will be on their way back, they are going to have a big and good recruiting class.”

  6. I'm pretty sure I read that he is going to choose Nebraska and that he was going to announce it Monday at noon. He has the one visit left. If his classmate decommits from Tulsa it would be 100 percent. I think we may get them both! That would be awesome. GBR!

  7. I think everyone needs to calm the thinking down that Niles is a future stud at WR.

We also need to stop the thinking that in our new offense players will not be able to contribute as early. Callahan was never willing to dumb the offense down to get players to contribute early, which kept better players behind more experienced ones who only had an advantage in time played.

First of all there is no reason to dumb down the offense. The offense is working. Second, you always put your best players on the field and so did BC. It just so happens that experienced Junior that has ok talent is just as good as a more talented freshman who has never played against an entire team of talent compared to what they were up against in high school. So why dumb down the offense when you can let that more talented player develop into the offense. I don't think anyone is over rating Niles. I know all I was saying was that he needs to stay at WR so that he will develop the skill he does have and combine that with experience so by the time Swift is gone he will be there. You can never have enough experienced receivers . Even in a dumbed down WCO.

  8. :corndance

No way should Niles Paul go to the D. We need him in 09 to be an experienced receiver. I am willing to bet that not to many freshman recruits will be able to memorize WCO routes quick enough to be impact players in 09. So that leaves Niles to probably be one of our best receivers at that point. Don't get me wrong... I am not saying that the other receivers we have, are recruiting, or will recruit are not as good as Niles Paul. All I am saying is that the odds look good that in 09 he will be a great receiver. To good to switch to CB. :restore

  9. :corndance Nebraska's offense was explosive last year and will the same this year. Coach Watson is still coaching the offense and Bo will keep him doing what he does. We have good receivers to replace the ones that are gone and Sam Keller was not that great of a loss. NU's Offense was one of the best in the NCAA. I can only think of one game we had real offensive problems. That now leaves the defense. Bo knows DEFENSES. We still have lots of talent on defense. We recruited nice last year and will do good of Feb 6 for the defense. The problems last year WILL be corrected. NU should win 10 games in 08. I truly believe that NU will be the big 12 north champs. GO HUSKERS!!
