  1. Hello Huskers, Washington State Cougars and Nebraska Cornhuskers for the National Championship? Hey as a loyal Coug just passing this along. Cougs and Huskies hate one another but we respect the way Husker Nation handles itself. Just passing along this discussion in a Seattle paper that just came up spontaneously. Some programs like the Oregon Ducks have some real jerks. Not often we agree on anything. Good luck next year. These are the words of four separate posters (3 Huskies and 1 Coug). This can be found at : http://forums.seattletimes.nwsource.com/ph...=45&t=37339 My two cents worth ... Nebraska fans are awesome people! I was at Mile High watching one of the only Hawk victories over Denver there ever was in the late 90's and my friend and I were unmercifully hassled by Denver fans after we won with a late TD. We were protected by a group of Nebraska fans that were there rooting the Hawks on too. They saw our plight and were more than happy to help us to safety. If you've ever been in that situation it's not fun. I don't know why it has to be this way but it sure seems to be. Go Cougs!!! Nebraska fans and institution are great. Spent a week back there a few years ago when one of my kids was in a track event. We really felt welcome and appreciated, even though they knew we were huskies. They obviously don't read the Times in Lincoln. Nebraska rocks....always classy fans. I only wish they'd go back to the option offense. man, I love watching that. In a few years it's be a dinosaur offense that some moribund school will install (to replace the spread!) and they'll be successful and exciting and everyone will wonder what happened all the option teams in the first place! The Nebraska fans and team were/are a class act. I don't think you can say the same for Miami, so for me, that made it more fun.
