  1. I dont' post often unless I have something useful to say, so: To all the nonbelievers, the naysayers, the doubters, the haters, the Sunday morning coaches, the armchair quarterbacks, the arsehats who booed our team and left the game early, the message board nutjobs who couldn't see the positive in a 70 point win over the #1 team in the country: Remove your Husker gear immediately and burn it. Get the frack out of our stadium and stay out; sell your tickets to real fans or give them to kids. Stay off our message boards. Get out of the Husker Nation and crawl back into the hole you came from and stay there. I would say wear burnt orange for future Saturdays, but not even that team deserves you. Let the real fans enjoy our team's victories, and support them in their stuggles. You are "N", or you are out. That is all. HuskerFanCO
  2. If you call the ticket office they have tickets available for the 09/04 and 09/11 games. I beleive these are "visitor" tickets that were not purchased by the deadline and they are now being released; they usually go fast. They haven't released this on the web site yet. Cheers, TR
  3. I have a friend from work who is a diehard Sooner fan (as is his dad, a Sooner fan for 55+ years) and they are travelling to Lincoln next weekend for the first time to attend the game. Now he is a classy Sooner fan who stayed loyal during their bad years and always talks with respect about the Huskers, so I want to make sure they have a great time. Now I have only been to 2 home games in the last 10 years, both times with my daughter, so I have lost touch a bit with the best stops to hit up pre and post-game (especailly for a pair of adults). Any recommendations on where they should go? They are looking for recommendations for Friday night as well as Saturday pre-and post-game. It would be great if they could find some classy Husker fans to tailgate with as well. The friend is stilla bit of a partier though he is middle-aged, but since his dad is going I probably need a good mix of crazier vs more laid back options. They are looking for restaurant ideas as well, not sure if the old stand bys still hold true. Thanks ahead of time for any advice to pass on to them. TR
  4. Agreed, game ball goes to "House of Spears!" The only argument from me is that Bo should have called time out at the beginning of the 4th quarter and handed out Blackshirts on the spot! TR
  5. This team has heart: no self-pity, no giving up. I like it. I think Zac did some growing tonight and stayed tough (I could almost hear some of you calling for Green to go in). He avoided bad mistakes and did not collapse under the pressure. And Defense: I don't care what color you are wearing at practice Monday; you are Blackshirts to me! Some things to work on: some sloppiness on special teams and still too many penalties, but I will take a scrappy win in bad weather against a ranked team on the road any day. From deep in Buff territory, TR
  6. Got some too! Thanks for the heads-up. Let the retro uniforms and 300th sellout celebration begin! TR
  7. I am so glad Ron Brown is back: Q: "What will be the philosophy of this staff?" A: Relentless. There will be a relentless pursuit to the football on defense. There will be a relentless physicality on offense, where players will not only block, but every player will block. When Tom was coaching, even quarterbacks blocked on the backside of a toss sweep. Nobody runs out of bounds. You don’t just run out of bounds unless you’re in a two-minute drill. You take on ball carriers, and you fight for extra yardage. And you don’t take punishment – you give punishment. Everybody blocks downfield. Wide receivers block like crazy on the perimeter. Linemen get up off their block at the line of scrimmage, and they go downfield and block. " http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB...;ATCLID=1431189 Almost brings a tear to my eye. Can't wait until fall. From the Pagan Buffalo Lands, T "Don't wear the Red if your Husker Pride is dead."
