  1. I figured since the Frost to NU conversations are about to wrap up. I figured I would update my spreadsheet that keeps track of wins by P5 schools since the regular season is over. I'll update again after bowl season but because most of the games are done, I thought well WTH.

    1. Oklahoma - 194

    2. Ohio State - 179

    3. LSU - 177

    4. Georgia - 173

    t5. Virginia Tech - 169

    t5. TCU* - 169 (In Mtn West till 2011)

    t5. Wisconsin - 169

    8. Oregon - 167

    9. Clemson - 166

    10. Texas - 162

    t11. Florida - 160

    t11. USC - 160

    13. Auburn - 158

    14. FSU - 156

    15. Alabama - 155

    t16. Louisville - 154

    t16. Miami - 154

    18. Utah* - 151

    19. Nebraska - 150

    20. West Virginia - 148

    21. Michigan - 147

    22. Oklahoma St - 144

    23. Penn St - 143

    24. Iowa - 141

    25. Notre Dame - 138

    Bottom 5

    Illinois - 81

    Vandy - 78

    Indiana - 75

    Kansas - 72

    Duke - 68

I also thought it was interesting that Purdue will be trying for their 100th in their bowl game. Currently sit at 99.

  2. I really think Gebbia would be a great fit. Yes you want to be able to run the ball with the QB but otherwise the only other realistic look is to pull a kid in this years class. Or go get Terry Wilson.

Crazy thing was that Wilson being committed to NU at one time already shows there was some interest. Then Frost is the one who flipped him to Oregon. Feels like Wilson would be a realistic target.

The other one would be Travis Jonsen...he just left Oregon and was a 4 star recruit coming in. Went by the name Travis Waller at the time of his recruitment.

  3. As I sit here and try to type out a sane response I find my mind going to the area of "WTF??!?!?!"

Mike Riley.....gosh I hate watching NU football since you been here but dangit you are a classy dude. It's too bad it didn't work out. You may not have won enough games but you're better that Bo Peep in my book. BP can go F^$% off!

I would just say, Frost has relationships with people in Nebraska to this day. The obvious one being TO, but he knows the people in this state and at the University. It's funny to think about how this stuff gets around, but when you think where the program is you can't blame people being excited about a little good news.

There are people that went to his wedding (or were in it, can't really remember) that still live around Wood River. Former classmates. One of the kids I coached there showed me all of the pictures. Looked like a good time.

Actually was fortunate enough to have a conversation with Frost at the CU game in 2013 while he was at Oregon. Talked about how I was at Wood River at the time and he said that he saw we had gotten beat the night before. I thought it was cool that he took the time to continue to follow how Wood River does. It was a pleasure to talk to him.

If we get Scott Frost, will it feel as good as any win we've had in let's say 10 years?

If we don't get Scott Frost, where does that rank in losses we've had?

CU 2001 - worst loss I've ever seen and the biggest disappointment.

    VT 2009

    UT 2009

I rank all 3 of these as the same.

I was more disappointed about the 2003 win vs Penn State than I was about a whole lot of recent NU losses, but complete apathy set in for me after Pelini's tirade at TAMU, and his actions on the sideline every time after that made me completely despise him and his teams. The hiring of Mike Riley made it even worse for me.

    Frost is my cure.

  6. ...in the next two weeks vs Temple or USF...

Which HB poster (or posters) is most likely to go all skeptical and lobby that NU needs to look elsewhere? (I didn't want make separate SF thread but didn't want to hijack the main one)

I've never thought it was impossible that Frost would stay at UCF for another year, but the renegotiation of his salary would be interesting to say the least. If UCF dramatically upped Scott's salary, wouldn't they want a significant increase in his buyout? Frost is certainly holding some great cards in this entire situation.

This is the kind of thing that bothers me. If in 2012 in an interview, he said NU was his dream job...if that's the case, why take more money to eliminate funding toward assistants he wants.

He doesn't seem like that kind of guy to me.

CPT, so if Frost comes to Nebraska, does this do some weird spell on you intertwining Nebraska and Oregon into 1 and make you become a full-fledged Husker fan?

Frost is my numero uno Husker. I will still be rooting for the Ducks..but he would be the cure for my apathy. I would be completely invested.

  9. I was just telling my buddy over the phone that at the beginning of the year I was skeptical of this dude. Yea he coached ND's defense when they played for a national championship. Who did they play? No one. He was terrible at UCONN and there were people that were stoked for him.

I could see the excitement given that Banker was just awful too. However, with the change to a passive 3-4, and all that. Just bad bad timing for Riley.

I am stunned that people would turn this away:

    2009 Oregon 10–3 8–1 1st L Rose 11 11
    2010 Oregon 12–1 9–0 1st L BCS NCG 3 3
    2011 Oregon 12–2 8–1 T–1st (North) W Rose 4 4
    2012 Oregon 12–1 8–1 T–1st (North) W Fiesta 2 2
    Oregon: 46–7 33–3
    Total: 46–7

Well you see, they want a splash hire. Someone who is........Nick Saban.

Chip would be a great get if NU can't get Frost. Fans won't care about the alienation. Boosters might, but why? After all this time...no one in Nebraska cares about anything except being competitive and relevant. NU program is the state's life. Nebraska has literally NOTHING else but Nebraska football.

College World Series I guess....but that's not something people hold on to like NU football
