  1. After watching our offense under our current offensive coordinator, the best thing to do would be to blitz the crap out of us. Every Tech fan knows that our OC ( I'm not going to attempt to spell his last name) can tell you that he is incapable of calling plays that make a defense pay for blitzing. We have no offensive identity with him considering how he will not continue doing something even if it is successful. An example of this is how we completely abandoned running the ball with Brandon Ore against Kansas in the Orange Bowl. Our defense still struggles with tackling and playing assignment football. Our corners are the real strength of the defense considering that they will get physical in run support and lockdown receivers. Our d-line continues to get no pressure on the quarterback and our 5th year Senior linebackers just look slow on the field. Bo shut down our offense last year by blitzing which will probably not change. To be honest, I don't have a lot of expectations for this game anymore.

  2. Terrible coaching, and a O-line that is not as good as advertised. Tyrod Taylor was running for his life yesterday since our line couldn't give him any time to throw. Our D-line is getting no pressure on the quarterback but the rest of the defense is improving.

I haven't been able to watch any of Nebraska, but you seem to be winning comfortably. Am I right?

  3. Several Injuries

    Brandon Dillard- Torn Achillies

    Jahre Cheeseman- Broken Tibia

    Kenny Lewis- Shoulder Surgery

    Ryan Shuman- Shoulder Surgery

Sam Wheeler- Coming back from a torn ACL

Shame that Dillard got hurt though. He was the only reciever in the Spring Game that played good. Heck we may have 2 former QB's and our best corner playing reciever.

Cheeseman, Shuman, and Wheeler should all be healthy though. They were only supposed to miss the spring.

Luckett and Whitaker played pretty well in the spring game. Also, no chance that Holt starts, Zach Luckett has the other spot all but locked up. There's plenty of talent at the position, just virtually no experience.

I heard that Luckett might be suspended for the East Carolina game. Holt will be the 3rd string Q.B. though. He has a big frame, but he is not that fast, and has little experience playing at any position.

  5. I voted for OU, and would have anyway, but how did a Va Tech team that lost to us make the list when we did not???

    :madash

because Va Tech is a consistently good program, and KU appears to be a one year wonder.

If a Kansas fan knew anything, they should know that we are a terrible bowl team. Our coaches treat the games as rewards instead of a football game. Prior to the Orange Bowl, our team was bowling, playing on jet-skis, etc. Vince Hall hurt his knee on a jet-ski and Cam Martin got hurt in the game as well. We expected Kansas to be a joke and it showed with our lackluster performance.

That being said, Oklahoma is the toughest game for Nebraska in 2008. :nutz

Nice excuse Hokie nation- The Jayhawk players were having fun on the beach as well. You should check out the KU beach party before the bowl game. No excuses hokie pokie, ya'll got beat. Deal with it. Now get off your mom's computer because she needs to e-mail me back. Oh, and tell her to shave. I swear she looks more and more like Chewbacka everytime I see her. :cowbell:

    :wtf:wtf:wtf

Another classy KU fan. Have fun at the Alamo Bowl this year while my team will be playing in another BCS bowl. :nanalama

That is one fan. He is the board's provacatuer in the case of the Hawks... KU fans spent quite a bit of time interacting with Va Tech fans in Miami and actually the feedback I got back from both sides was very positive. Even those smack talking videos on the internet that were like Apple commercials were well mande and very funny. While SGS takes a different tack than I do, I think we do share the frustration of being called not for real all the time. Every week people said we would lose, we did not. Everyone said Va. Tech would blow us out, they did not. SOrry if we are prickly, but KU fans have seen our team improve gradually and then break through. I am just looking forward to a good year so I can quit hearing about how lucky we are.

<-- Very funny, but Mario Chambers?

<-- They left out a few of their games, and a few of ours... (Mizzou had more than 10 wins too...)

    <-- Pretty funny

<-- Then I guess they were sure to beat us...

Funny though, very well done comedy. But, we get this a lot, and then we win, and then nothing changes...

I still think OU is the team to beat, how can they not be. Texas and OU have the most talent and win the most. Hard to argue with those programs....

What's even more frustrating is after we beat good teams suddenly everyone says they weren't that good to begin with. I guess it was just luck that V-Tech was ranked #3 in the BCS before we played them. But they weren't any good? :wtf

Welcome to our world. Remember how little credit we had going into the 2000 National Championship game with F.S.U. .

  6. This is how i predict your season will Go

Game Twelve CU Vs. Nu again This is a close game, Nu takes it in a shootout 21-20

I appreciate your prediction, but their is no way that Virginia Tech hangs 63 points on Nebraska. Their is also about a 99% chance you are in elementary school, and that you can name one player on W.A.M.U's team. :horns2

  8. Good experiences: L.S.U.- Let my group tailgate with them.

    T.A.M.U. - Very nice

Duke- J.K. they have no fans

    Bad experiences: Florida- hate em

West Virginia- Hate having batteries thrown at you, having beer bottles thrown at you, and tipping the porta john over when your taking a dumb(didn't happen to me, but happened to another fan)

Kansas- (Their fans at the bowl game were A$$ holes)

    U.N.C.- (Bunch of rich pricks)

Colorado is playing West Virginia, right? That game is gonna be brawl city.

  10. BYU @ Washington

    that's funny...

Their is no way that BYU will go to a BCS bowl this year. Their schedule is a lot harder than Boise State in 2006, and Hawaii in 2007.

    2008 BYU Schedule

    Northern Iowa

    at Washington

    UCLA

    Wyoming

    at Utah State

    New Mexico

    at TCU

    UNLV

    at Colorado State

    San Diego State

    at Air Force

    at Utah

  11. I'm going to have 2 tickets to sell... any guesses on what i can haul in for them? theyre row 69 in north end zone. I'm seein stuff goin for 200 a piece on stubhub already. Do you think the price will reach as high as the USC game?

What is the quality of those two seats. The price for seats through our atheletic department is $65 a pop. The lowest price that I can find on Stub Hub is $180 per seat.

  12. One guy's opinion (ArmchairGM.com)

It must be true. It was on the internet.

    Kansas

    FIU, August 30

    Louisiana Tech, September 6

    @ South Florida, September 13

    Sam Houston St, September 20

One great game against USF doesn't make up for another season of scheduling down in every other game.

    Kansas St

    North Texas, August 30

    Montana St, September 6

    @ Louisville, September 17

    Louisiana Lafayette, September 27

The Wildcats get a spot here for wussing out of an opening game against Fresno St, not to mention scheduling down in three games like their Sunflower State rival above.

    Texas Tech

    Eastern Washington, August 30

    @ Nevada, September 6

    SMU, September 13

    Massachusetts, September 20

The best Texas Tech team in years will be playing one of the weakest non-conference slates. Embarrassing and sad.

He also had NU vs VTech as the 5th best non-conference game.

I will say outside of USF KU's non conference schedule is weak...but good god!! Have you seen the rest of KU's schedule!?! I think you're a little too hard on KU.

KU plays @OU, Texas, Texas Tech, @Nebraska, Missouri (@Arrowhead) and @ South Florida. Several websites have the Kansas schedule as the toughest in the nation. You may want to revise your comments. 3 cupcakes isn't bad, compared to what they'll face. NU's non conference scheduleis by no means harder than KU's. South Florida would beat V-Tech by 2 TD's. Virginia Tech LOST EVERYBODY from last year-accept of course they're crappy QB's. I think Nebraska will beat them.

What websites have KU's schedule as the toughest in the nation? I want see these sources!! And don't pull up some Lawrence Journal, Topeka Herald or Jawhawk Weekly. KU plays the same conference schedule that everyone else in the Big 12 plays year in and year out. Having OU, Texas, & Tech sucks, but it's still conference play. The topic was non-conference schedule and for that KU has a weak one.

Kansas' schedule is tough, but it is not nearly as diificult as Georgia's schedule.

  13. This is true-But we beat you 76-39 so how did this topic ever come up? What's the point? KU player a weak non conference schedule. Big deal We're getting paid back this year with a trip to South Florida and Texas, Texas tech and OU on the schedule. Throw in MU and that's the #1 schedule in the country. Period.

#1 schedule in the country? Ummm, apparently you haven't seen Georgia's schedule...or any team in the SEC for that matter.

The SEC will be strong this season, if it doesn't shoot itself in the foot. Same with the Big 12. I think they are very close in the number of strong teams in each conference.

But to say Kansas has the #1 (toughest) schedule in the country is crazy talk!

Better watch out for Sam Houston State with Rhett Bomar. :koolaid2:

  14.

    Texas Tech

    Eastern Washington, August 30

    @ Nevada, September 6

    SMU, September 13

    Massachusetts, September 20

The best Texas Tech team in years will be playing one of the weakest non-conference slates. Embarrassing and sad.

mostly agree *except* for the SMU game. june jones just took over there.

be interesting to see a jones v. leach.

I bet that SMU vs. Texas Tech will be one of those 3 yards and a cloud of dust games.

  15. NU will not be favored against Va Tech. I agree that Glennon is the one that a Husker would want to see start, but I am pretty sure Taylor will be redshirted. Nebraska will get smacked in the face by our defense in 2008 with our offense doing nothing behind Glennon. In 2009, it will be a blowout with Tyrod Taylor dominating.

  16. Our conference is terrible. We are the only quality team in our conference.

Boston College- Below average without Matt Ryan

    Maryland- Below Average

    Duke- Awful

    North Carolina-Awful

    Georgia Tech- Average

    Florida State- Rebuilding

    Miami- Rebuilding

    NC State- Below Average

    Virginia- Average

    Wake Forest- Average

    Clemson- Overated like always

Virginia Tech- Down from previous years, but probably the conference champs

The Big 10 (11) has Ohio State who might go to their 3rd straight BCS championship game, Illinois who is improving, Underated Wisconson, and in a few years with Rodriguez, Michigan.

  17. Reesing is a solid QB, but I wasen't blown away with how he played in the two games that I watched (Missouri and Virginia Tech). I know he had way better games that year, but you are talking about those two games as the toughest two that your team played all year. I respect Kansas but they will not go 10-2 this year. 5-7 may be a little harsh, but since the Big 12 is probably going to be two BCS teams this year, Kansas will not get one over Missouri or Oklahoma. Missouri deserved a bid more than your team last year. Heck, I wasen't so sure if my team deserved a bid until I learned that instead of preparing for the bowl, we were playing around on Jetski's and goofing off. If you don't think I'm serious, play us in a few years when Glennon is gone, and Tyrod Taylor is not a freshman. I would rather play Kansas in a few years instead of the home and home with Kansas State. Except for in basketball, our team couldn't stay on the floor with your team.
