  1. So they beat Missouri who is 2-loss and allowed over 500 yards to be put up on them, half of which were on the ground. You put them up against a more solid run-game like Wisconsin's and expect less than 500 yards? Don't even get me started on Florida State, a massively overrated team who has put up an average of 300 yards in their losses. They put up 35% less yards than Clemson did against Florida State. Their offense is suspect. Wisconsin's as of now is not. They are piling it up through the air and on the ground. This Saturday they will try their offense against a possibly good defense and if they put up 450-500 yards I think people will stop considering them inferior to the almighty Oklahoma. Christ, at this point I am starting to think Oklahoma won't be able to beat both Texas A&M and Oklahoma State and has a good chance of not taking the Big XII title.

  2. Their two tight-end package is going to annihilate us. It has very little to do with Dennard/Toon. Their TEs will open up the run game and their run game will keep the TEs open. They have had one of the best string of TE performances in the last five years. A few of theirs are now in the Pros I believe.

  3. Tickets won't go down until after kickoff but even if you find nothing there, the atmosphere is worth being around. My brothers live in town and my family (other than myself) will be at a house a few blocks from the Stadium before the game. Would love to go but have an infant and it will be a bit too crazy out for her to be around. Lots of bars, lots of parties. Even if you are at a bar there watching it will be a good atmosphere. I recommend Jordan's Big Ten right by the stadium.

  4. If I am correct it is a focus of institutional cooperation and then probably collecting royalties of patents that occur from cooperative research. UW makes bank off their Vitamin D patents. Read up on it sometime. We won't instantly get more research funding. What helps is that our professors can hitch up with other professors who can provide each other with additional incentive to attract funding. Yes our research dollars will probably rise. Especially with our new centers being attractive new venues for top-flight research projects. Really the issue is we need to right the ship with the University budget by getting back to decent State funding levels and stop letting our veteran professors retire early to save a few bucks like recently.

  5. I'm not sure how/where his injury occurred, but DAMN did he get whipped into the ground by that guy tugging on the tops of his thigh-pads. Jesus I haven't seen someone pulled down like that in many a year.

My initial thought was he had the wind knocked out of him because he landed so hard.

Yeah man same for me. I figured he needed a breather and would be back out.

  7. What people fail to realize is that Wisconsin fans often wear black hoodies with Wisconsin in Red/White lettering. They also wear a navy color similar hoodie. It is not that Wisconsin just "wears red and white". They really have no unified dress code like you find at Nebraska. Wearing red would have been just as fine.

Also, we can argue who the "original" big red is until the cows come home, but only one school in the nation that I know of has the name "The Big Red" (albeit unofficially). This school is neither Nebraska or Wisconsin. Hell the local high-school there is even called the Little Red.

  8. I purchased the ESPNPlayer package the last few years. Unfortunately, it was almost impossible to find good steady streams with decent quality video. I often had to refresh the page and select the game again. I was running 10-15 MB/s internet so my connection was not to blame I think. The feeds into Poland were just horrendous. I watched the NCAA basketball tournament online, and it was the exact opposite. Beautiful gorgeous HD feeds. AND IT WAS FREE. I mean christ, I'm paying a price which is going up some 50-100% per year for the ESPN online action and the feed is lower than SD quality and the player is crap. Get your act together ESPN.

  9. You need to look at their possessions. In the first game, they had 5 touchdowns and 3 punts through the third quarter. In their second game they had touchdowns on every possession up until late in the third quarter. If you watched the games, they had much more consistent play with what appeared to be less turnovers, less tackles for a loss, less sacks, less third and longs, and better third down conversion rates. I think if we had an offense that appeared like theirs did we wouldn't have so many worriers today.

  10. If you aren't on a budget, hit up Misty's the night before. If you've got a car hit up the one away from downtown on Havelock otherwise the downtown location will do. Order the Prime Rib. You won't regret it. The location on Havelock (bring your smartphone and just put Misty's Havelock into your navigation application) has a decent amount of memorabilia you can look through. They have some of their own beers which aren't terrible but you won't write home about. There is nothing like a good midwestern Prime Rib though. Misty's ranks up there with some of the best.

  11. This is a instance of roster management. Burning redshirts on good players is not poor roster management. He is juggling schollies as we've had lean and fat years and they'd probably like to even that out a bit more. Also, this helps future RB recruitment saying that you aren't going to come in behind 3 great experienced players who still have 3-4 years left. You think we'd pull a single back in next year if we redshirted all three who are hyped players? Even if we redshirt two, you're still going to hurt our appeal to RBs for a year or two.

  12. More importantly you need to consider all of the other bowl tie-ins that the Big XII is holding. What do all of the Big XII bowls do? Who fills the Alamo and Cotton bowls? Who do they turn to? Some conferences are probably already in contractual tie-ins for a few years with their bowls. You could really screw over a number of bowls in the process.

    1. what can Baylor sue for? Can I sue people for not doing business with me?

    2. Is Baylor the ONLY freakin school that has ANY balls to stand up to all of this ...or is this a situation where everyone but them( and probably ISU) has a press release ready to go announcing their succession assuming aTM leaves and the dominoes start falling..

my head hurts. it seemes like a whole lotta people with no business or sports background making a lot of very big decisions. pretty much all of these AD/Presidents have no business background...more educational/figurehead background...no offense to professors, but running a business and teaching business are a long ways apart.

I still find it amusing that people do not consider the University systems "business". They are some of the biggest businesses in this country. How many businesses can say they have been doing the same thing for over 100 years? I'd trust most university professors with running my business than their MBA students.

  14. That pic of the Michigan practice facility looks like a render sadly. I'd like to see a real picture. That being said, comparing tOSU, Michigan, Nebraska and maybe others in terms of facilities is ridiculous. They are all on fairly similar levels with some differences between based on historic location, etc.

Reminds me of Nebraska's fairly equal facility. Circle jerk commence?
