  1. I'm in. So how does this work?

Well the first step is creating a rad team name, then comes all the easy stuff like setting your draft board, live draft, scouting walk-ons, then setting your weekly line ups.... But really it's mostly about the team name.

  2. The 2012 CFB season is fast approaching. Anyone interested in joining a league this year can join my private huskerboard league at cbs, com. 10 teams, and all conferences with a live draft this weekend. Hope to see you there and good luck!

    League name: HuskerHolics

    Password: huskerboard

Draft: Live draft Sun. 8/26 4:30 CT

Edit: Here's a direct link to cbs.com fantasy page. That may make it a little easier to find.

  3. They took Nebraska's iconic "simple N" and applied it to Wisconsin.

    I noticed that too.

It's actually a take on one of thier earliest helmet designs. If anything it's supposed to be a throwback look for them.

    * That is a "W" at the front of the helmet; a similar red "W" was present at the back of this helmet design. This design was resurrected for Wisconsin's first game of the 2005 season, a home game against Bowling Green. - The helmet project

  4. Speaking of tall buildings... I wonder how Memorial Stadium will "stack up" against other FBS stadiums in terms of structure height. If I remember correctly, Memorial Stadium will be roughly 125' tall. Other tall stadiums that come to mind: LSU's Tiger Stadium, TA&M Kyle Field, TCU's new expansion, PSU's Beaver, OSU.

Surely the top bleachers in the East Stadium expansion will be some of the highest off ground level, right?

Iowa State has some pretty tall luxury suites going in.

    One word.... EPIC!

It's a good thing we left the Big12 when we did. There's no way we could have kept pace with the arms race happening in Ames .

  5. Johnny Rodgers hard fought 8yd TD run against ND in the 73 Orange Bowl. (Bob Devaney's last game as head coach.) The TD was his first of five he was responsible for that day, including 3 more rushing as well as a 50yd TD reception.

    :56 sec mark

Edit: Rodgers 5th score was actually a TD pass not a reception. Looks like the box score has it wrong.

  6. Sal Anzalone clarifies his original comments

Sal Anzalone had no idea of the firestorm that would erupt when his son, Wyomissing football star Alex Anzalone, de-committed from Ohio State Friday afternoon.

In the hours that followed, the story, reported by the Reading Eagle and published on its website early Friday evening, went national - viral in, fact.

News websites and blogs across the nation picked up on Sal Anzalone's comments criticizing Ohio State for allowing his son to come in contact with, and be photographed with, a known sex offender who is Buckeyes football fan.

By midnight the Reading Eagle's website had logged nearly 50,000 hits on the story.

    .../cont/...

    And the actual comments...

    .../snip/...

"I want people to understand, I have no beef with Ohio State, at all," Sal Anzalone said. "My issue is not with Ohio State: It's a great institution, they have a phenomenal president, Urban Meyer is nothing but a class act to me.

"There's nothing wrong with Ohio State; it's a great institution. When I said there was something wrong with Ohio State, I was talking about the visit - there was something wrong with the visit, not with Ohio State."

Sal Anzalone said that Meyer called Friday evening, but did not wish to provide any details about that conversation.

"We can't implicate Ohio State for what happened (during that visit)," Sal Anzalone said. "That's wrong. That had nothing to do with the university itself. I don't hold them accountable; they're not responsible for what fans do; it's not their fault."

After saying Friday that Alex would no longer consider attending Ohio State, Sal Anzalone said the Buckeyes are back in the picture, but that his son - an All-State linebacker and one of the top recruits in the nation - needs time to reassess the situation.

"With all the craziness, we want to slow down the process, calm it down a little bit," Sal Anzalone said. "There's no reason we wouldn't consider the Buckeyes. We love Ohio State. The academic opportunities there are tremendous."

    .../cont/...

Personally I think Alex just got cold feet after making a quick commit, coincidentally the creepy stalker story just happened to come along at the same time resulting in his dad making some emotional comments that were then taken out of context and blown out of proportion by the usual "negative Ohio State news = big hits" news machine.

A year from now we'll see random message board fans saying "Hey remember when that pervert who worked at Ohio State tried to molest a bunch of football players and the school tried to cover it up? I always knew the Buckeyes were shady!"

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.

  7. I can't see him ending up anywhere other than Baton Rouge.

    Wrong sir.

    As where you. :)

247 says that he is in town this weekend any chance of gaining his commitment? I know we are in the top 3 with michigan and lsu

No he is visiting all schools first.
