  1. I will say this much -- I think the guy needs a girlfriend, but I can sort of identify with his sentiment. I grew up going to Astros games in the Astrodome and we always used to hate it when all the Cubbies fans would invade. There were always more of them than us because of that Stupid ... er Super Station. I don't remember any altercations or bad blood though ... even the Cubs fans were classy. And I'm not saying that just to suck up to the Cub fans on the board. Really.

"Walk Ons: Huskers Edge" is a new NET television special

    Hey!

Can you burn me a copy?

If I can figure out how to get my DVR to DVD (been wanting to anyway) and if I can do it legally, then you betcha. IM or email me or whatever we do here (I'm kinda new) and we'll work it out.

  3. Sitting in the stadium that day Nunn fumbled was so surreal. Out of nowhere, it started snowing & we were looking good for the W & pow! :bang:bang:bang:bang Gotta love T. Nunn. great kid. just sucked the big 1. ps, wife is a huge ut fan. we didnt talk until tuesday after that game

That was the ONE year I had season tickets. And that game was why (that and the north end zone expansion of course). Flew my dad in from San Antonio and made him wear red. He was cold. I remember waking up the next morning and not being sure if we won or lost.

  4. Nebraska has had the chances to win...

    * Buckhalter's fumble at the Texas 3 yard line...

    * Nunn's fumble after catching a first down pass...

    * The former coach built a great lead and then inexplicably took his foot off the gas; and then in the same game, the Blackshirt defense gave up 200+ yards rushing in the 4th quarter in 2007.

Yes our record has been dismal against Texas, but at least three of their wins have been due to ineptitude on our part.

    :bang:bang:bang:bang:bang

Don't forget us taking #7 Texas to the wire in Lincoln in 2002, only to have Jammal Lord throw into triple coverage and get picked off with less than ten seconds left.

OK I should read down the thread before replying. :/

Don't forget Jamal Lord's late interception in Lincoln.

  6. Cons:

It is closer to the South teams.

It is in Texas (although Austin is a 5-hour drive)

It takes the weather out of the game.

    It's 3 hours from Norman.

    Pros:

Dallas is somewhat central geographically in the Big XII.

It's an 8 hour drive from Omaha, 7 from Lincoln.

It takes the weather out of the game.

There's a lot to do in the Dallas area.

DFW is a hub, so cheaper flights and more non stops.

I'm for continuing the rotation. That way it's in the North territory from time to time, and it ends up in San Antonio from time to time. I have family in San Antonio. And yes, I do believe it's a power thing with the South teams.

  7. These predictions are a trap. Everyone here in Huskerdom will have high expectations based on these predictions, then reality will set in and there will be grumblings for change if it does not pan out. Don't fall into it. There are some big question marks going into this year but I think Bo and the Boys are up for the job FOR THE LONG HAUL!! And don't forget I said IF it does not pan out. GBR

  8. I have to say, you Clemson fans are a classy bunch. I lurk on another board and there is a similar thread there too. This was one hard hitting game. Both programs are on the rise ...

did I say lurk? I meant, uh, browse, um, peruse, that's it, peruse ...

  9. Noticed that they stopped talking speed every other word in the 4th quarter. Speed this and speed that got a little irritating.

Also thought they left they game a little quickly. What, no post-game interviews? We had Judge Judy within two minutes of the final snap.

Love livin' in Omaha. Channel 3 (local CBS affiliate) had a one hour pregame show and a one hour postgame show. That said, Travis Justice is a tool.

  10. I am lucky enough to be a foster dad to a beautiful 6yo girl who has had a very rough life, so as you can imagine my perspective on these things is a little different than some other peoples'. I call her my little girl. Sometimes she calls me Daddy, other times by my first name. And it's all good, but my heart melts a little when she calls me Daddy. Still, I am a huge Husker fan. We were all three down in the basement watching the game and my wife had to go upstairs because she could not watch it. Just as the ball was snapped back, my little girl (who was on my lap) placed her latest drawing right in front of my face. "Look Daddy", she said. Mustering all of the restraint I could manage, I gently moved her arm down and said, "That's beautiful, honey" as I watched the ball sail through the uprights. My arms flew up and she asked me if the Nebraskas got another touchdown. Yes, the Nebraskas got another touchdown. "Did they win, Daddy?". "Sure looks like it, honey." That picture is up on my refrigerator, of course.

  11. I'm right there with you. Yes, we'll be better and deeper on Defense, but have some question marks on offense. The thing that scares me is our schedule. At V-Tech, at KU, at MU, at CU, at Baylor, sure we get OU at TTech at home, but those aren't gimmies. We may take a step back from 8-4, but be better.

We may start beating a few ranked teams... :horns2

:clap Good (but unproven) athletes at qb, Lucky gone but Helu returning, better play in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Hopefully we will see vastly improved secondary play. And a coaching staff that will hit their stride at the beginning of the season. I see reason for nothing but optimism. If we are competitive in EVERY game I don't see 4 losses.
