I changed my tune after the ccg. I felt that wats could have put Martinez in a position to succeed ..... or at least not fail so badly ....... there at the end. I went from "the coaches know more than I do" camp to believing it's time for him to move on.
Edit: stupid android spell check.

It would be nice to say, "their defense played great," instead of, "our offense sucks."

Heard that too. Read about it here:
I've been rick rolled for the infinite time.
Saw the YouTube link and decided there was nothing there for me.

Yesssss.

I posted this on another thread ..... if the cotton is the best non bcs bowl, it only makes sense that the ccg loser will sometimes be the logical choice. The logic of not wanting the same team to come back does not make sense to me.
-
both teams are bad, zona and uw. i am surprised insight passed us up because even though we have more losses, we are the better team in that we won the north. i never understood why a team that is not good enough to make it to the ccg is better. it seems like the ccg loser is being punished for winning their division.
my question is, why is the cotton bowl not even an option?
This, many times over.

Beebe Drops Trophy on Toe, Kicks It Over to Pelini Then Slips Out Back Door.

As a Cowboys fan he reminds me of Bill Bates. He works harder than anyone else, plays harder than anyone else, does whatever he's asked to do, and is the consummate team player.

Athens just got a Trader Joes...does Texas hate us too?
Omaha's Trader Joe's opened a few weeks ago. Lincoln's opens in a couple of weeks. Nebraska is almost like a real state now!
ok, this has to be a first for Texas. There is no Trader Joe's in Texas (that I know of) and we want one real bad. How is it that a town of 1 million and a town of 250K (Omaha, Lincoln) can get one and Houston or the rest of Texas can not? We have 4-5 million people living in this city and not a single Joe's in sight. Hell, Omaha (except employees at some insurance company) and Lincoln can't even get a Chick-Fil-A or a Whataburger. BTW- if you have never had Whataburger you are missing out!!!! BoB rules at breakfast and midnight and beyond.
We also are still waiting on Carl's Jr. but I hear those are coming real soon.
Gawd I miss Whataburger. If I ever move back it'll be for Whataburger. And the beach.

While bagging up a pair of peppermint shrimp and a neon dottyback, a trusted source in Lincoln has told OKBlitz.com Sports Director Dean Blevins via text message that Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez "isn't gonna go..." and that he would "be ineffective if he even tries to play." He then asked if Dean needed any replacement filters or zooplankton suspension.
I must know the story behind this lol
Hehe wow, it is probably buried well within Rumorville now (is that even still accessable?). Long story short, in the before time, in the long long ago, when Pelini's coming here was just a rumor, someone claimed to have heard from Bo's "saltwater aquarium guy" that he needed to move his aquarium and reef and whatnot to Nebraska... or something very much like that. So if you ever see someone say anything about a "saltwater aquarium guy," it's a euphemism for, well, "highly unsubstantiated, 9th hand rumor."
But .... it turned out to be true.
Just stirring the pot fellas.

I have NO source...link...etc.... in fact this is just my opinion based on absolutely nothing
Actually, from my coaching experience and dealing with many athletic injuries (which obvioulsy makes me an expert )........... if the turf toe is truly what is bothering him, you can pretty much not only count him out of this game, but list him at 50-50 at best for bowl game. I am not sure how many "board posters" realize how many running backs actually miss 5-6 games or more with "turf toe".... Taylor is a running back playing qb...
Plus, I will give this rumor a little credit. On 1620 USC, they were visiting with a Vegas guru and said that the line on the game went up almost 2 pts today. Now OU favored by nearly 6 or more. That is a HUGE jump as far as Vegas is concerned. When they asked the guru what could make the spread jump that much in a day, he mentioned that it "could be" because of the rumors/knowledge of Taylor NOT playing. He said Taylor not playing would definitely be worthy of a 2-3 pt swing.
In 97 Ahman Green had turf toe and played all year. There are many levels. Not unlike a Led Zeppelin album cover.
I just hope this means Watson skews the plan to run right at them, and not sideways.
Don't know much about turf toe but I love your Led Zeppelin analogy.

The limp is his normal walk, it helps him with his running
Depending on the extent of his injuries, I hope they dont put the needles in him to make the pain go away. Id much rather lose a game than run the risk of long term injury to a talented kid that has been beat up mentally by the fans, and physically on the field.
Agreed 100%.

Nice to see an okie fan start a thread with class and have it turn into this.

I don't get the logic of the Cotton Bowl not taking us if we lose next week. If the Cotton is the best non bcs game, then the B12 loser will often be the logical choice. If that's a problem then why have both games in the same place? Moot point after next Saturday anyway.

I don't know anything on this topic, but I heard from a highly reliable inside source that Zac Lee will never play QB again for Nebraska.
Did you mean Taylor Martinez? Zac Lee looked good out there today. Was surprised to see him throw.
That's called sarcasm?

Beebe's remarks don't point to a conspiracy to me. It was however a very stupid thing to say. They indicate that he does not choose his words carefully. This to me is a sign of a poor leader.

Chatty writes some pretty good stuff but my opinion of him and his material is always framed by an article he wrote a a couple of years ago. I don't remember the game but Chatty wrote about Bo's decision to kick a field goal rather than go for it. Paraphrasing, he said "I've had 3days to think about it, and I finally decided that Bo should have gone for it to make a statement." I've always thought this was lame considering that we won that game, and that he pondered it for a long time before deciding Bo should have "made a statement." The guy seems to hover around reality so that you're not always sure what he's saying is substantial.

Unfortunately I think it's going to take every writer in the state of NE to write articles like this every day and specifically call out coaches by name before Bo will do anything about it. I just don't see him making any coaching changes, and that's too bad. Hopefully I'm wrong, but unless the entire state shows up at memorial stadium threatening to not buy tickets if nothing is changed, I just don't see a change coming.
What do you basethat on? This ain't Callie and Cos here. I don't think we can say yet whether Bo has the cajones to make a change like this.

me thinks this new wrinkle C. Pelini speaks of will be the unveiling of Eric Martin at DE?
or too soon?
God I hope so. That would be epic.

This thread lost its amusement factor about three posts up.

I was at that Alamo bowl with my dad and remember telling him that zac's getting killed out there, that they should get him outta there before he gets killed. And then he leads the effin comeback. He was tough as nails and full of class.

Isnt the Holiday bowl A Higher tier bowl game then the cotton? If so How does Baylor make the Holiday bowl and we make cotton?
Cotton is higher than holiday. I believe it is the highest non bcs bowl for the b12. And this year they changed the pecking order so the holiday is lower than the Alamo.

I think that Taylor and Bo and Watson and everybody else already know this. If Taylor doesn't start that game that means he's too injured to play. IMHO.
What do you want? Watson OUT or IN?

Sorry, just getting back to this. I felt that dropping Taylor back when we were in field goal range, and he's not been making good decisions, was stupid. Either you take it out of his hands as you said, or have some type of designed run. The sack took us out of fg range. Sure you want the first down, but pick a play where failure is not so costly.
