  1. Do we have many commits going to the Rivals camp in St. Louis this weekend? I think I heard Bookie is going to try to get a 5 start camp invite on HOL. Jurgens and Mapieu as well. Good chance to get Masry a rating change. Maybe Wildeman would be going too?

Bookie Radley Hiles, Cameron Brown, Masry Mapieu, Cameron Jurgens, and Will Farniok.

  2. Clouse stated Carson and Goodrich are top priorities in Missouri. Said Parella and Diaco went to Carson's school and really impressed. Carson said he feels most comfortable with Nebraska and Ohio State (Larry Johnson is a stud recruiter) wants to decide after senior season.. Carson is definitely being looked at for DE..

  3. Anyone have a link to his periscope a while back? It was sometime shortly after the spring game if I recall correctly.

Another thing I was wondering, he is primarily going to be a db but do we put him on the field for some offensive plays? He has great hands so I was wondering if anyone knew if he would play any offense or if he wants to strictly play defense.

He did a Facebook live a week after the spring game. It's a great watch but it is over 2 hours long. It's under Husker Football Nation. Click videos. Also has a Q&A with Lamar Jackson and Tommie Frazier.

  4. You guys missed the real drama today! Came here expecting to see it... please hold

Edit: He deleted all the tweets :( He got in a huge beef with Nick Pickett, a high school senior DB signed to Oregon. We were big suitors at the end of the year last year, and people got the impression we slow-played him pretty hard. He tells Manny that #GBR is sh#t, etc etc

Anyways, they go back and forth, and then Keyshawn comes in and essentially publicly calls Nick out on not having a committable offer. It was hilarious

Can't believe I missed that!! I dont follow Pickett because he was an idiot after committing to Oregon. Always thought he was better than he really was/is. Rahyme Johnson too. Never minded Lenoir and wish he would have been N.

  5. So there are two silent commits plus someone committing within 24 hours?? Love it!! Guessing Goodrich is within 24 hours with Joshua Moore and ???. 15 is a tiny class. 20 looks improbable now even with probable attrition.

  6. This kid is the reason why we are slow playing QBs for '18...We have a very, very good shot at landing him. Has us ahead of FSU for now as his favorite.

Agreed.. Bookie said last night that he didn't think they were going after an 18 guy but brought up Gunnell for their guy in 2019. Said he just got done talking to him about it. Not sure if he was talking about Riley or Gunnell.

That sucks about Pledger. Was hoping Bookie could at least convince him to visit and maybe change his mind.

He said he wants to still take his OV. Bookie said no youre not, im not going to let Coach Riley do that. The exchange was a little weird between them. Like Bookie was getting a little mad. Pledger also was giving Bookie crap about giving back to the fans so much. Said fans dont do sh#t. Also brought up the 62-3 OSU game. After seeing that facebook live Im kinda glad he is going elsewhere.

Yeah definitely not the same kind of kid as Bookie. Bookie knows it's a waste of time for Nebraska is Pledger takes an official. Did mention 62-3 after an OSU commit was making fun of Oklahoma. Really funny when Bookie brought up that all the QBs at OU have been arrested and then about Mixon. Mom called him Bookie, early enrollee, will wear 44 at NU, doesn't plan on RS, planning on graduating and declaring for the draft in 3 years, hates Iowa (he was funny), plans on returning kicks, will throw the bones this year, first interception in college he's running the ball straight to D. Williams, won't leave if coaches change. He went over a lot in two hours.. Yes I had a lot time on my hands!

  8. If anyone has Facebook Bookie did a 2 hour live segment where he answered questions from Nebraska fans. It is on Husker Nation Live. Some really good stuff. Hates Iowa with a passion. Called 2020 stud Johnny Wilson and 2018 prospect Joshua Moore while doing the interview. TJ Pledger is his roommate. Definitely sticking with OU. Might have said Nebraska had another IMG commit until Bookie gave him a dirty look and shook his head. Bookie is just a classy guy. Unbelievable kid.

Weird, I follow HS football too and notice talent is low as ever. I think you're confused because RC football is not good.

What was your former name Matty?

I will trust your assessment on S.D. talent, but if Sodak coaches he may know a little more about the talent aspect of SD. Of course coaching isn't everything, but I will say both of you have valid points. He says talent is getting better or is on the uptick, while you think it is not as good as he thinks it is. Both are fair points, but I would presume that the talent is getting better toward that area(SF) of SD because it is getting bigger if I am not mistaken.

Lets see how good Farniok will be when he gets to N, we could potentially see both Farnioks on the line at the same time during their Huskers careers and that would be cool to watch!

Yes, the flaw is that he comes from the part of state where FB is getting worse and worse and possibly assumes that reason is because SF schools are getting better and better... not sure that's the case. The Rapid Schools typically get beat by ~45ish when they play the SF schools and that's been the case for years and years and years.
See that would be a flaw if I didn't coach in Sioux Falls until the last 5 years.. I have been on both sides of it. Talk to the coaches down in SF regularly and those opportunities that they get they are taking advantage of them. Which I think is awesome. RC schools suck compared to SF schools. Don't have the commitment or the resources. Baseball owns RC and always will.
Thank god then. Yes, baseball and wresting out west. Also, had a good hoops team this year out in RC.

So, what is your reply to the lack of D1 guys coming out of SF if the talent is so high? (See couple posts up)?

Hoops team chokes every year. It's a given unfortunately. I said in the last 5 years the talent has gotten better. Which it obviously has. Gerry, Farniok, Farniok all to Nebraska is pretty good for a state that's population is smaller than Omaha. Show me the D1 athletes 5 years before. I can think of Reiff and the two Farniok but that's about it. Never was impressed with Schmidt when he committed to Ohio State (transferred to Cincy maybe). Vandenberg is at Iowa. I know Nebraska has more D1 prospects but I said this 2017 SFW could probably play with any team in Nebraska this year. I'm not saying that South Dakota is loaded with talent but that SF area talent pool is getting deeper and deeper. P.S. O'Gorman should be in the highest class with the way they recruit kids!!

  11. I'm also from SD.... see my former name.

I have a hard time believing a team in SF would play their best lineman at C.

Matty you have been wrong on this thread before.. and you're wrong again. Sanford Health had put millions of dollars into athletics ( Avera did shortly after as well) These guys have professional trainers that they must use. The kids pay per month. Coaches have nothing to do with it other than see the attendance. Last 5 years kids in SF and the surrounding areas have gotten bigger, faster, and stronger.

  12.

Typically, o-line film is pretty bland to watch. I am damn impressed with this kid. He has good speed and is always Hustling down field and hitting anyone and everyone in his way. I like this kid and surprised he is only 3 star.

I like him a lot, but his competition in SD right now is very poor.
What does hustling to hit anyone and everyone have to do with poor competition. Also the talent pool in the Sioux Falls area actually is getting better and better. All 4 SF teams plus the likes of Brandon Valley Tea and Harrisburg are growing. SIoux Falls Washington will be king for the next two years as they return I believe 18 or 19 of their starters from last years championship team. They would give most Nebraska teams next year a run for their money. Unfortunately I coach on the other side of the state but get the "pleasure" of seeing SFW atleast once a year. BTW Gatorade Player of the Year was SFW RB.. He's a sophomore.
  13. Order of wish list between Goodrich, Addison, and Williams? May get all or a few but whose the biggest get since ratings don't always tell all.

Based off defensive highlights I go Addison, Goodrich, and Williams. Addison has the 6'5 length and comes down the line on the run. Would like to see his 40 and other agility times to see if he could being the FS. Goodrich is just an all around good athlete with great playmaking abilities. Williams tackles too high and was actually impressed more with WR highlights. That being said taking a really talented WR and turning him into an elite D-back is always a possibility.
