  1. Swagger is the word used because it is what it is, if you dont have swagger then you shouldnt be playing the great game of football...

Just another word for confidence but I agree. Even though it is the "in" term you gotta have swagger.

  2. When you look at the commits already scored and look at the offers that are going out you can see that the coaches arent settling for just anyone. They are hitting with the big boys and with success I might add with some absolute studs.

Anything can happen. It s a LONG time until signing day but I feel that we put a quality team on the field and win consistently , this could be a class that elevates us an elite player with some very high profile recruits.

  3. I would say Hardrick probably is a lock to start. You don't bring in massive JC transfers just to sit the bench and watch Mike Smith/DJ Jones play ahead of you.

I would agree. That and Hardrick is just an angry hardnosed player. Hell of a motor.

  4. screw texas and the ncaa.

all the ncaa is doing is going to cause colleges in the future to not announce who the coach is going to be when the current coach decides to retire from football.

next i see the NCAA putting restrictions on coaches that have the title "Assistant Head Coach"

    100% agree.

  5. Its funny that all of this "Talent" and "Dominance" the Longhorns seem to claim has amounted to 2* Conference Championships and 1 National Championship. If Reggie Bush wasnt an idiot and tried to pitch that ball to L. White Texas wouldnt even have the one National Championship. With all that talent they claim they have they better put up a lot more than what they currently have. Texas will finish 2nd in the South this year behind OU.

    Agree

  6. I have an Insider pass to ESPN because of one of the fantasy football leagues I'm in. Comes with the league somehow. All I can tell you is, you're not missing anything if you're not an "insider." Their inside information amounts to a bunch of speculation and retread stories.

The people on this board are more "inside" than anyone at ESPN. We have people with real on-the-ground knowledge of these teams, while ESPN has some staffer sitting in a cube at Bristol. Who do you think is more "inside?"

Can anyone remember the last time they heard about breaking news about Nebraska - or any other college or pro team - and it came from ESPN's "inside" source? I can't, either.

Every piece of breaking news or need-to-know Husker information I have needed has always come from HB. Other than that, the LJS and OWH do a pretty good job. I mean, you can't get any more "Inside" then actually being in the state of the team you're covering.

Castille leaving broke here, the Suh accident broke here, Burkhead's foot injury broke here, etc. etc. I even wonder if some of those news guys jump on here in the morning to see what's going on. :w00t

What you are saying has merit. They do watch for copyright infringement on all Husker sites so Im sure they get their daily scoop here first like all of us..:horns2

  7. Huskerboard members,

Thanks so much for your continued support. We take your comments very seriously. Several people have mentioned facts and stories that you read at huskerpedia as much of the reason you will venture to the other site. Do you think it would be benficial for us to have something like that here?

A page of statistics or at least links to finding them? If not this, what would put us over the top, far and away the best, complete board out there?

Give me feedback on that...any and all!!!

As always, we appreciate you guys being part of the board.

I think if there was a box on the main page, an aggregate of links to Husker related stories, that would be pretty darn handy. Just nice, clean, and simple. One line description/source type thing. Kind of like what yuo find on the main page at huskermax, but I think it could be put in a small box, a la the status update thingy. I'd rather have every husker related story at my fingertips rather than what joeblow is having for dinner. (which I am guilty of posting regularly.)

I agree with the above. It would also cut down on multiple people posting the same article hopefully.

  8. I think I remember you saying your son in a pitcher correct?

Kind of a coincidence but my oldest son who is a senior in HS plays 3rd and pitches. My 6 year old plays the pitcher position in T ball. Supposed to have a tourney this weekend if it doesnt snow.

Is he the one that plays at Carl Albert? I think remember someone on here saying their kid played at CA. And keep your younger one at pitcher, it's the best position on the field. This year was supposed to be my senior year at Wayne State but had surgery on my elbow earlier this month that is going to keep me out for the year.

You are correct about my oldest. I remember your advice about having a strong base to pitch. Thanks for that. My son has worked on his leg drive towards home.

My 6 yr old is like a gift. I get to do this all over again with him. For an old fart like me it is dream come true to get to experience these years with him. I know I am biased but the youngster is a hell of a ballplayer already.

BTW..Heres to you making a full and speedy recovery and you kicking some tail when you get back.:cheers

  9. The kid has some speed, so this will work out for him. I would enjoy seeing him running down the sidelines for a TD.

I'll just enjoy seeing someone catch the ball consistently. Anything after that is all gravy, baby!

Yep that would be refreshing indeed.
