One thing that I notice . There are very few (half ass*d) Husker fans. We are heart and soul Fans of Nebraska football. So ya bro , I guess that it is like family in a way.

I have 4 brothers and two sisters. We are all transplanted Nebraskans. We all live in Oklahoma now accept one of my bros.He lives in Omaha. We ALL wear are Husker gear just about every day. The funniest thing lately that someone did .I have a Husker lisence plate on the front of my wifes van , and a Husker draw tight cover on the back. My wife works at a hospital. She got off work the other morning,walked to our car. There was a lady in a spot a spot accross from her.She got out of her car. She said to my wife,"Why dont you just take that THING of of your car"?Speaking of the front plate.My wife said that she would call my cell phone and gladly let the lady speak to me about it. 7 in the morning Im getting into a debate about my sweet plate with a lady Ive never met. No problem. I LOVE to explain to all these sooner fans that (sooner) rather than later we will be kicking there butt again. Giving OU fans crap is my lifes joy.

From what ive seen there are proboly more slants posts and screens than long balls. Alot of bobbing and weaving . Dont get me wrong though. All of the above soften the defence up for the long one.

I wonder who is on Blakes target list. There should be some talent there.

I guess that even some of the most talented people get sucked in by drugs every now and then. I wish him the very best of luck. He was definently a powerhouse on the field.

I like recruiting as much as the next guy, what else are we going to talk about until practice starts. That being said I was just trying to point out that if this kid is a "Silent" commit maybe his verbal isn't that strong. I just don't understand why you wouldn't want to go public if you know already where you want to go. Just my view on the matter.

You hear alot of reasons for silent commiting. Geographical area. Dont want there local erea getting on them for going out of state. Seems to be the most popular. It just gives the player his moment. I know Reggie Smith was eating the attn . up last year. Thats why he kept it up.

I agree with Eric. Its the off season. At least for another month and a half or so. What in the heck is wrong with a little speculation? Lots of kids commit verbaly and then decommit verbaly. So what?There kids. We as fans of football can watch baseball, or speculate about are team, or both. The crude comments about nameless are YOUR opinion. I have got alot of knowledge from his posts. Hey everybody. Just got my ncaa 2006. Callahan took alot of crap from Oklahomans for running the (Oklahoma drill). They were p'd off because they said we were mocking them by calling the drill that. It is so ironic that in the EA sports game NCAA 2006. In the trainig mode there is an Oklahoma passing drill. I wonder if the OU fans think that EA is mocking them now?

The real drill is literally a running drill so I don't know if what your talking about is the same. It just got a lot of attention because of the name.

We are talking the same thing. I had not got that far in the game. I just read the instructions and it caught my attn because of how mad it made Stoops.

Hey Nameless and everyone else! I have been on vacation for a week and came back to find out that they shut down HTW. I was greatly disappointed Hope this board is just as good.

No worries. I think that this board is very fair , with some great people. With more and more of the HTW members coming, it is just getting better and better.

I dont think that the Sooner fans egos will alow them to consider a 10-2 or 9-3. They will act like the sky is falling . But in my mind as well , I agree with Trev. He makes sense here. Ive witnessed so much slander against us that I dont give a crap if they go 2-10. Then maybe they will stop giving Stoops bigger contracts every year just to keep him.

The local T V stations are absolutely slamming Trev Alberts from espn. He said that OU was over rated. He went on to add that Adrian Peterson wont even be in the running for the Hiesman. He went on to explain that defences will key on him with less threat of the pass. He says the numbers wont be there for old AD. I wish we could play Ou every year. They dont like us. From my prospective it is mutual.I dont like them very much either.

I can apreciate what the coaches saw in this guy a little clearer now. He just looks like an awesome athlete. I love the way he went out on that bootleg and snap off that throw into the net. I think that between Beck and Freeman that it is going to be fun to watch and see which one developes and starts 2006 2007.Either way I think the competition only improves them both.

Now that scout.com has successfully managed to shut down my Huskers Tunnel Walk message board, i was curious how many members from that board are currently on this board under a diferent username? I know i recognize Hskrnokc being one person and Pillen being another Husker Tunnel Walk member. Reason i ask is because i am trying to figure out now where the majority of the members are disbursing now that the board is shut down. I know where a few guys have gone through email, but just trying to get an idea of where everyone is.

 

What can i say, Steve Ryan is a little and could not handle someone offering free info and doing his own interviews instead of forcing people to pay to follow a team they love. Some people might think i am full of BS and not believe me when i say i do my own interviews, and some might call me a liar and say that i simply just steal the info from scout.com and rivals.com, and that's fine with me. It really doesn't matter to me whether people believe me or not, recruiting is a stressful thing, i will admit it, but it's not that hard. People are under the impression it involves all these rules and regulations and yada yada yada, but its really easy and basically any person with certain knowledge and background can do it. I will admit one thing, i started out thinking i would get the university in trouble if i didn't do a thru background check on how sites like rivals.com and scout.com are allowed to contact a recruit while the average joe has to wait around and get those updates and found out that it's not that hard.

 

Am i going to tell you how easy it is? No, because i could get the university in trouble if someone misreads something i type out and then guess who gets in trouble? Yes the University. And who do you think the University will go after? Yes me.

 

 

It been a intersting week none the less. I get an offer from 2 other husker boards to do recruiting updates for them as a free lance writer (I guess some people are begining to believe in me enough to want my recruiting articles) similiar to what a certain BRR Moderator use to do for Huskerpedia (You should all know who i am talking about, i won't mention his name because i dispise him), on the other hand, a Admin from another board all of a sudden wants to use the video i have stored on my website of Nebraska verbal recruits in addition to recruits we are interested in. The same Admin who began bad mouthing me after i decided to leave his site because he did not want members from his board following me.

 

Anyways, i guess i am just rambeling since i really don't have a home anymore. Anyways, you guys should get some new smilies. I can give ya the ones i have since i wont be using them anytime soon on a message board. Message boards take to much time and energy to run and even though i have registered a new community on EzBoard and a community on Invision, i probably wont be launching an new message board anytime soon. If anyone wants certain film on a recruit, let me know, i more then likely have it or can get it from another proxy FTP server i belong to that shares recruit videos all over the net, or i can simply just call the recruits head coach and request it (if film does exist).

Just curiously former, what plays was JD good at???? I dont think that you base your offense around the capabilities, or lack there of, of your quarterback other than in basic play selection.

I guess if I had a spring practice, a fall practice, and 11 games, I could find a few plays that he could run effectively. Any half-way decent coach could, but thats why NU went 5-6.

FF some points you make are valid. But you are very narrow minded about what the BIG picture is.

IMO, the BIG picture is winning games, going to bowls, winning championships, and a return to domiance.

Not going 5-6, trying to make your systems work, and having a top 5 recruiting class.

If you could just accept what is happening and be PATIENT. This will work. We may go through an assistant or two, but IMO Callahan is going to be here a while.Your big picture and mine are the same. We WILL be there again soon enough. And yes they could have ran the ball way more to try to improve last years imediate record. Think about it. If you twist the offense back towards where it was all the players that are trying to learn the new system are sacrificing 1 year off experience in an offense that will be permanent. Try to see all sides off this before you pass judgement so fast.

Guys being wide open and being missed happens to almost every team, pretty much every game. Its part of the game. If JD was inept at this offense, then it was the OFFENSIVE COORDINATORS job to figure out what plays he was good at, and call those in the game. He didnt. The problem is that this staff is more worried about their precious little systems and whether or not they are successful, as opposed to winning games, and making sure that the team is successful.

 

Look for more of it in the future.

I think the coaches DID figure out the plays he was good at, there just weren't very many of them. And it was too late in the game (i.e. all the 4th quarter comebacks that fell short at the end). JD just didn't have enough experience reading pass coverage and that was his undoing. Zack and Beck can run this offense they it is suppose to be run.

Like normal, you are wrong again. While JD wasnt great last year, he didnt call 55 pass plays (against CU) when the run was working really well the week before (OU). Also, JD didnt call for the D to drop 8, rush 3, and hardly ever blitz against Tech. There were also questionable coaching decisions against So Miss and ISU that led to bad losses.

Yeah, and Jammal Lord didnt call about twenty quarterback draws a game. Whats your point. I was at every game last year and on almost every play, there was a guy WIDE open. Not kind of open, not threading it in there open, but WIDE open. JD is almost solely responsible for the lack of offensive performance, and as a leader of the team, is partially responsible for the team quitting on the season. All that being said, I wish him the best of luck at North Carolina, and I feel bad about bringing him into a situation he was obviously not ready to handle.

THANK YOU so much for pointing that out. I thought that I was the only one that saw receivers that were so open they were probobly lonely. JD did the best he could for the situation he was in. I would be screaming at my TV, theres a guy open over and over. Hardly ever was the correct decision made by him. If we would have had a qb with ANY knowledge and decision making ability we would have had a vastly different record IMO. FF some points you make are valid. It is an extremely fun time to be a Husker fan now. Look at these kids that just keep coming and coming. I dont make predictions very well. But I would bet the bank that we will return as a different type of beast to the top of the ncaa. Exactly where we should be.

Leinert wont be there in 06-07. Thank god, now all that we have to put up with is the next five star quarterback.
