Rhule said he was going to have a young staff. He has proven to have a good eye for young coaches in the past. Would have liked to have someone with more experience, but just going to trust Rhule on this one.

I would have to think that this is what it comes down to. We will have to keep our fingers crossed that he could learn in the fly. I am hoping the young coaching staff is able to connect with recruits

Has he even coaches receivers before?

This is the head scratcher for me, has played QB, but has never played or coached WR. How is this a smart move. Also obviously Coleman knew about this which surprises me that he was comfortable with being coached by him. I was really hoping that we would have got Dailey or someone with the history of coaching the position.

I'm really excited about Casey. He's got a great feel for the pocket and great eye discipline, keeping his vision downfield and knowing when/where to progress if something isn't open.

His deep balls look like a glaring issue but that's the only thing about the kid from that hour of film that seems like it's a worry.

I will be honest I was not excited about him coming to Nebraska, but I watched the Texas tech, Oklahoma and Kansas games today and I am so impressed with him going through his reads, how he moves in the pocket especially patience and stepping up! If we can protect him he will do great!

Like dilly dilly stated, why would he come in, redshirt, and then hope to get the starting job when he has it at UCF?  It's possible i guess but who knows.

You are correct, this is from the NCAA website:

Q: Can student-athletes transfer without penalties if a coach leaves the program?

A: A student-athlete can transfer at any time, subject to the regular transfer rules. Those rules are not waived if a coach leaves a program.

It's not in his best interest to do that at all, but hey, if that's what he wants, then go for it.  It will be awfully hard for him to win back a starting job after sitting out a year with POB/Gebbia/Martinez as a starter for 2018.

He won’t have to sit out a season.  Kids could transfer when a coaching staff leaves if Understand the rule correctly.

Admittedly I've only watched a handful of UCF games, but does this offense really use the jet sweep? I don't recall having seen it.

I will look but I do remember him using it at Oregon and vaguely remember him using it earlier this year. (I didn’t watch all the games). If I am wrong I apologize but will definitely look now.

  8. I think our offense is going to be just fine, we need to sure up our pass blocking a bit.  Defense was very vanilla!  We will have to figure out how to cover receivers and how to get any pressure on the QB!!!

I talked to his seven on seven coach last night at my kids practice here in So cal, and he said he was placed at Western Arizona and will be going to Florida after he is done. Also said Blades told him he he never wanted to go to Nebraska and that he only committed because of going against his father.

    Sounds like a mature kid.

I'm betting Nebraska told him he will qualify IF he gets his butt to work in the classroom. Spoiler: he didn't.

Mattyice that's right, he said that his mom wanted him to go to Nebraska because of Williams, and that his dad did not like Williams. He did not like idea of him going to Nebraska or Williams at all and wanted him to go to Florida.

The coach also said that Nebraska set a plan for him to get eligible and that he just never committed to following it. He thought about going JUCO route here in so cal but, that it wouldn't be good for him to be close to home.

First points of the Wisconsin/LSU game:

Field Goal by Gaglianone .... wearing #27

Just saw him hit a 48 yarder to put Wisconsin ahead and he is jumping up and down pointing to his number and then up to Foltz!! Class act and I will be rooting for him for the rest of his career

Gaglianone said Sam carried the ball over the upright and also talked about honoring Foltz.

Good win for you guys today.

Thanks for the post Badger!! Yea we had a good win, but we def have some things we have to clean up!

Your defense played lights out today and Clement ran the ball well s well!!

  12. Looked at Oregon's stats tonight from their game this week and they gave up a lot of yards in the air. UC Davis had over 300 yards passing and had the ball for 15 minutes more than the Ducks. Oregon's offense had a good game they had almost 600 yards of total offense and were very balanced with throwing and running. I really think we may have to throw a bit more to have a chance beating them.
