  1. I have yet to see any recruits that NU has stolen from other top programs, mostly from the likes of Houston and Ball St. Go to rivals100.com and look at the other schools recruiting these kids. Where is there any mention of Ball St? Do you actually read the stories about these kids and the schools going after them or just make them up in your head? If you look you will see some that have been taken from USC, Oklahoma, Florida, and so on. Read up then post. I guess you had better go look at Rivals, with the exception of Beck, Lucky, Bowman, Picou, and Dillard, most of these guys werent recruited by top teams. I saw UTEP, Marshall, Iowas St, Arkansas, Troy, A&M, Ok St, Arizona, UCLA, Wash St, Mizzou, K St mentioned alot. All teams that are are not exactly NC contenders. So out of 24 recruits, 5 were sought after by top teams, or are you reading a different Rivals than I am (possibly the one in Fantasy Land, you know where callahan leads NU to a National Championship)???????????????? (tongue buried firmly in cheeck).
  2. Gee, your coach, "bill the offensive mastermind" said that he and Herian had the best hands. Whats your problem with NE kids? They seemed to work well for Osborne, Devaney, and Solich. Those guys never had a losing season in 40 years, unlike callahan.
  3. Anyone else confused? The only one confused apparently is you
  4. The fact of the matter is that any coach that is worth his salt in recruiting is going to go after guys that will thrive on his football team, regardless of what their "rank" is. In my mind, that is the mark of a good recruiter. Callahan wants to go after the top guys in the country. Does that mean that every recruit is going to be the top guy in the country? No, because a good recruiter brings kids in that will do well on his team. Taylor will add depth, hopefully compete at one of the weakest positions right now and bring the level of play at that position up. That's one of the main reasons he was recruited. Afterall, he said it himself. The whole point of bringing Callahan in was NOT to have the #1 recruiting class every year. One of the points was to be able to lure kids here that would thrive, something that hasn't been done in the last 5-6 years at least. That's something that Frank always struggled with. It's real wonder he hasn't been snatched up yet. He has yet to strike fear in the hearts of top schools like USC? I guess stealing Marlon Lucky out of their own back yard is nothing to worry about. BTW, have you called these schools and asked "Hey, has Bill Callahan filled your heart with fear yet?" Check out the recruiting forum. It's neat. Problem is, Osborne was a great coach and could plug players into a system, even ones who werent as talented, and win. callahan is a horrible coach who cant teach or develop players. Most of the guys that have committed were not even recruited heavily by the top schools, like I pointed out, most of the commits from him were considering middle tier schools. Do you really think that this a talent upgrade? They have to top class right now because of sheer numbers, much like Virginia, not because of the quality of the players. Gee, I thought that pederson said (lied) that the reason he brought in callahan was to get the top players and top classes, but I suppose that was just more hot air spewed by steve?
  5. I guess we'll just forget the fact that Spurrier would love for Beck to come to play at South Carolina. Also, we'll just forget that he is the number 4 rated "Pro" style QB, via rivals.com. It's funny what you learn when you read. Are ratings everything? Of course not. However it gives you an idea of what the people who breathe college recruiting think. So in your mind recruits are only as good as the schools that recruit them? Way to stick it to players that haven't even touched foot on campus yet. Gee, we were told that when bill the Idiot was hired that he was the recruiting guru, that he was going head to head with the big boys, and taking all the big name recruits. In reality (with very few exceptions) he has "stolen" recruits from the "major programs" UNLV, Murray St, Troy, Memphis, Ball St., Arkansas, Iowa St, Kansas, etc. etc. I thought that the whole idea in getting callahan to come to NU was to bring in a #1 rated recruiting class, but when he is just picking up the scraps and rejects from other schools, that isnt going to raise the talent level. He has yet to strike fear in the hearts of OU, USC, LSU, Auburn, FSU, Miami, UT, Tenn, Mich, Ohio St, et al. BTW, I was referring to Taylor, amazing what you learn when you read!! As Snoop would say, you are on that sticky icky icky icky. I think #1 recruiting class in the nation is making everyone take notice, even "OU, USC, LSU, Auburn, FSU, Miami, UT, Tenn, Mich, Ohio St, et al." Taylor is helping provide depth at a position where the Huskers are in need of depth. Check out some of Eric the Red's post in the recruiting forum. Nebraska is wooing lots of recruits, some of them away from the other football powers. BTW, if you're a formerfan, why do you waste your time posting about something you no longer like? The #1 class in the country in early Dec. when the majority of the top recruits have yet to commit, and bill the Idiot is almost out of scholarships, because apparently, you need 7 qbs on scholarship to run the Worst Coast Offense. I have yet to see any recruits that NU has stolen from other top programs, mostly from the likes of Houston and Ball St. If callahan is such a great recruiter, why do we need 2 more qbs to go with the 2 that were here when he got here, and the 3 he got last year? I used to love NU football, spent tons of time and money on that program, have tons of memorablia and I used to plan my fall weekends around the games. I love everything the USED to be, but pederson and callahan have taken that from me, and it really chaps my @$$. I cant even tell you how p----d I am to see the program that I one loved destroyed by some a-hole with a personal vendetta against the former coach. Again, if bill the idiot couldnt pull off a .500 season with a 10-3 team from the year before, what makes you think that he is the guy to turn this program back into an annual player for the NC?
  6. OWH LJS Sorry, Steve, but you are in for a rude awakening. This is not the Huskers of the 90's, never again will be. Thanks for you consideration, though.
  7. Looks like 2 teams get really good head coaches, and we get a guy who destroyed 2 different football teams in 2 consecutive years. Good choice, sneaky pete.
  8. bill the Idiot is gonna have a tough time with these doormats, probably another sub .500 season.
  9. The last I checked Boateng hasnt committed, and Im not sure that he would go to NU. Birkel (@ 6' 3" with his 4.4 speed) is not quite a dime a dozen really good schools like Mich and Wash offered him scholarships (unlike alot of bc's recruits), and Pilkington has the best hands on the team. Just to let you recruiting junkies know, Andy was rated as highly if not more so than Wallace. callahan wont give any of Solich's recruits a shot no matter how good they are as long as his "own guys" are there. Did you hear what Birkel said about how he "runs" the program. Great recruiter, he cant even keep players there that are on the team now. What do you expect, the only good coach on the team left, why would these guys stay and have to deal with some other re-tread loser that bill the Idiot bring in? Its gonna get much, much worse.
  10. I would take everything that Lemming (callahans cousin) has to say with a grain of salt. This is great. They now have 3 middle lbs in the class and 2 outside backers, along w/ the 7 qbs on scholarship. No wonder why they are thin on the lines and in the secondary. If this staff continues to recruit juco qbs, tailbacks, and middle lb's, they will never get better than 5-6.
  11. I guess we'll just forget the fact that Spurrier would love for Beck to come to play at South Carolina. Also, we'll just forget that he is the number 4 rated "Pro" style QB, via rivals.com. 12. Wow, stealing this guy from top programs like Memphis, Maryland, Marshall, Illinois and Troy, what a huge haul!!! I wouldnt expect qb play to improve at all next year over this, no matter who the qb is. The worst coast O, especially the one run by bill the Idiot, is way too complicated for any college student to pick up in 5 years, let alone one.
  13. Gee, didn’t I recently hear "cosgrove the Magnificent (loser)" and bill the Idiot say that we need to recruit much more depth on the D line? Then they move Muy (who should be an O-lineman) to D? What’s up with that? It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if you take all of your quality depth at one position (d-line) and move it to another area (o-line), your strength just became a weakness. But I guess that the offensive genius, the guru, the greatest, the end-all be-all callahan couldn’t quite figure that one out. Is it any wonder why NU went 5-6?
  14. I wouldnt be looking forward to good results come year 4 of the "Reign of bill the Idiot", either. Have you seen the schedule that year?? It will probably be another year plagued by turnovers, lack of motivation, lack of special teams play, lack of defense, blowout losses, and lack of coaching. Im sure there will be many, many, many more excuses and places to lay the blame as to why the team is stumbling and bumbling to another losing season.
  15. By far the place where we need the most help is in the COACHING staff. With the loss of the only good, successful coach, what are they gonna do now? I wonder who the next re-tread malcontent loser will be that callahan brings in? It just keeps getting uglier and uglier. We would have had plenty of talent on the d-line if bill the Idiot didnt raid it for the benefit of the Worst Coast Offense. Just more great coaching by his band of merry morons.
  16. Wonderful, another unrated juco qb for the "recruiting wizard" callahan. Man, that guy sucks!
  17. I base my opinion that the whole staff sucks because not one of them has ever had any real. lasting success. They are a bunch of old, re-tread losers who were just (un)fortunate enough to cross paths with bill the idiot sometime in the past.
  18. Doesnt that suck, the only good coach on the staff, the only one with any record of success, and he is going to greener pastures. That should let the rest of us know just how bad peterson screwed this thing up.
  19. The last I checked callahan, Horne was one of your prized 4 star recruits. If they are relying only on recruiting, its gonna be really ugly!
  20. To Dave: I meant exception. Sorry, my dyslexia gets the best of me sometimes! To newearthhusker: The last I checked, Solich has a Big 12 ring, and a couple of BCS games, a couple of accomplishments that callahan will never get! As far as Beck, I heard Jeremy Crabtree say that this is a down year for qb's, and Beck has not performed up to expectations. Said he has been outplayed by qb's that were thought to be lesser quality.
  21. Even though recruiting looks to be improved, (#1 now), by the time it is over, they won’t be in the top 5, maybe not top 10. NU's average stars are 3.3, which isn’t much better than FS's last 2 classes (3.05/3.17), and is not nearly as good as the top teams, such as OU, USC,LSU. The last I heard, Beck is not all he is cracked up to be, and the rest of the recruits (with a few expections) look average at best. NU has 20 commits, just a couple left to give, and the top major recruits have not committed. bc's recruiting is just more hot air served up by sp. Don’t expect things to get any better while bc and co. are still here, especially with the tough schedules to come in 2006/7. Besides, recruiting can only take you so far, you need to have GREAT coaches to maximize the talent, which this staff does not have. Even if the recruits get better, who's gonna coach 'em? When bc's recruits go 5-6, who is he gonna blame?? This is gonna get much, much uglier. The best bc and co. will do at NU is a possible Big 12 North title, and a second rate bowl game. They will never, ever win the NC, Big 12, or get a BCS game, you can take that to the bank!!!! :up :up
