I can't think of the guys name, but on XM this morning, Andy Staples partner predicted Nebraska in the NC game.  Sure are a lot of high expectations for us.

I am not drinking the Kool Aid, but do expect to see a good amount of improvement.  I think we are couple of years away from that level.  I need to see improvement before I believe in miracles.

I don’t know who this is, but here’s another

Says we were 3-9  and we beat Colorado last year.  Hmmm.  Interesting.

Every game is another shootout and seems to be an "interesting" game coming down to last possession.  Predicts 9-3.  Said a lot without saying anything.

Pretty much like every other “publication” with a prediction

Kelly is good, but Frost is better, too bad he will learn that down the road when we haul in a natty while Notre Dame is getting blown out in every bowl game as they have done so many times in the past.  Good luck to him!

He’s in it for more than football.

The twitter comments from A&M fans.....haha.  delusional doesn't begin to cover it.  Claiming they will be competing for national titles before OU and he made the right choice.  I forget, was OU in the playoff the  last two years?

I think we take a JUCO no matter what, though I wouldn’t mind taking both Watt and Manning. I think it’s one of them and one more hs WR plus Nixon.

Well, we KNOW Watt WANTS to be here, so if there’s still an offer out to him, he’s N.

Notre Dame is one of the few schools where I don’t feel as bad about an in state player leaving. The others are the ones that are elite as far as education like Stanford or Harvard. If a Nebraska kid chooses Harvard I’m never gonna wonder why.

And with Notre Dame we just need to make Rudy and Catholicism illegal in the state so kids don’t grow up wanting to play there :)

Forbidden fruit makes them want it more.  I’d force feed it and make them tired of it.

My least favorite thing about following recruiting is airing out a kid's academic situation.  I guess it comes with the territory but it's disturbing to me to see strangers discussing the grades of a high school student just to make sure he can qualify to play football.  No one really knows the situation and the ones who do shouldn't be sharing it anyway.

It’s my second least favorite thing, right behind talking about injuries.  :(

Sounds like he has quite a bit of work to do.  I would say the indication is he has as much work to do as anyone we would take a commitment from.

Not that he won't get there.  But it's probably one of those things where we won't really know until at least NSD (if we let him sign) and possibly not until a year from now.

They wouldn't take him in the class if there wasn't a positive outlook. Kid has work to do, but he has this summer, all year and next summer to do it.

Thank you, both - this is what I was looking for.

I don’t want to know his grades.  I want to know if he’ll be able to play for Frost.  Vested interest on his academic situation, but most don’t need/want specifics.  it’s Yes or No.  basically.

Adrian Martinez is a great QB. And if he gets better. And if we can get the WRs to step up. And if we get improved line play. And if we find an RB to lean upon. And if the defense steps forward and if. and if. and if.

All of the ifs alone sound like, "Hey, we can do that." Add them up and they sound bad. Of course that's not how odds work. If you buy a lottery ticket 100 times, the odds of getting the winning number is the same each time. Similarly, the Huskers might have 10 problems each with a decent likelyhood of being solved. All of the likely outcomes don't add up to an unlikely outcome. Right? Tell me I am right. Please..... LOL

There there - it’s gonna be ok.  :)  just enjoy the process.

It's the mistakes that bother me. We out gained Purdue, but we got in our way enough times that they built a lead and won the game. Colorado, Troy, Northwestern, Ohio State... I could go on. There were dumb plays in each that just KILLED us. Even in the last game, against the Hawks, Nebraska had a complete blown coverage on the TE on 4th down. How does that guy get so wide open? We let him run to a spot and then turn and catch the ball beyond the sticks. No bump coverage, no coverage underneath. Zip. Nothing.

Those things were not forced on us. We shot ourselves in the foot.

So in response to would we have beaten Purdue in the tail end of the season. Maybe. But we still would have made a lot of mistakes, so I am not super confident.

Football is tough when you have expectations. It's tough in all sports to a certain degree. But you wait eight months to see your team. And then you find out they still aren't going to be any good. It just rips your heart right out.

Here’s what I said to someone ... we are back to beating ourselves rather than being beaten by other teams, as we’ve had the past few years.  It’s a swing in the right direction - knowing they’re capable of winning will eventually translate into the ACTUAL winning.

This should take us up to 62 in class rankings.

Now I am going to the Iowa State board to watch their meltdown. I am sure right about now they are saying they didnt want him anyway- the coaches started to get cold on him. He wont be that good.

I really don't follow where other teams post their fan messages, but I did find this

I used to be pretty neutral on Nebraska, but I see that Frost is going to change that.
