Just because we can utilize all types of players doesn't mean we don't want more speed. Ozigbo had a great season in part because he got noticeably faster.

Ozigbo didn't get faster, he got more explosive thanks to being lighter. This got him through holes and helped with better change of direction, something he couldn't do as well a year ago because the last staff wanted him as a power back. We saw last year's speed in spurts through out his early career.

He also benefited from a scheme that is described as being innovative for how they run the ball, so it wasn't all him.

But what was on him, and is my point, is that he learned the scheme and had the will and character to to succeed in it. The game is 99 percent mental as they say.

So from that perspective I have my doubts about Griffin. Maybe injuries hurt his career, or maybe it was also his work ethic, or his ability to fully learn the system.  But whatever it was, he slid down the depth chart at Oregon because of it.

So, as far as I can tell, there is nothing to be excited about by him other than that he's "fast".

He has the speed Frost wants. He has experience already in Frost's system being at Oregon so he would pick the offense up fast and be able to contribute. I dont see how it can be bad to add a kid with lots of speed when our offense is predicated on speed.

Dont argue just to argue. We need speed, he has speed. What is there to debate.

Idk, maybe there's more to it then just being fast?

    Devine Ozigbo ring a bell?

I didnt see a thread about Scholarship numbers and recruiting spots left.

Just because you didn't see a thread for it doesn't always mean you have to start a brand new one, especially when we have a forum full of excellent information with recruiting nerds ready to answer every question you could possibly imagine.

    But yea f**k the rules!!!!

Just as the title says.  Do we need to have a top 5 class, or classes to achieve success.

Success (for me) is defined by beating who we should, competing for wins against the top tier teams in the conference and being in a position to make playoff appearances.

Does the system allow for top 20-25 classes to have this that sort of success?

Historically for Nebraska, no. For Scott's system, based off what we have seen with Oregon and UCF, no. If he does sign a top ten or top five class however, things could get ugly for everyone not named Nebraska.

Hopefully Oklahoma pushes against having Texas come with them. Kansas and Oklahoma would be the best realistic scenario, imo.

This is possible, the rumor I heard a few years ago and still hear involves KU, but mostly just for their basketball program, but it miles flips the football program around by the time the BIG makes it's move then it wouldn't seem as absurd to take KU over UT as it would right now.

  6. Rumors from friends I have in the broadcast business have backed up the Oklahoma rumor. They want out, the Texas side is new though. Texas is locked at the hip with Texas tech and Baylor thanks to the large number of alumni from both present in the Texas legislature. The BIG ten doesn't want those teams or Oklahoma state.

So I don't see how Texas ends up in the conference.

I don't know any Husker fans who are sad right now.

If Frosty couldn't get us out of the slump, no one could (because after another failure this job wouldn't be very desirable anymore).  Luckily, this ship has already turned.

umm, that ship isn't turning, as you can see by the zig zag wake, it's drilling taking evasive maneuvers in the event of a torpedo attack, most likely by a submarine............ just sayin :P.
