    Bear in mind that the "Husker Prayer" isn't and never was a Husker product. It's based off a poem, and originally had nothing to do with Nebraska.

     

    Same for the "tunnel walk song" that we use. It's not ours, never was, and in fact the Chicago Bulls used it before we did.

     

    It is what it is.

     

     

    I have never ever heard it said before until the 96/97 team said it. With Grant Wistrom leading the prayer.

    Where have you heard it before at? Yes the Bulls did use the song before NU

    Just think about it, someday, very soon...they'll be a fellow Big Ten member. I cannot wait.

    Didn't ShaggyOrangeBevoBlood.com say that ND was flipping from Big East to Big 12 in all sports but football, but will play 4 to 6 football games with Big 12 teams AND keep NBC as a third tier network? (I think that they also reported that all Texan farts don't smell and oil is good for all that ails you)

     

     

    Yes you are correct and 810 sports down here in KC yesterday is saying that the big 12 will get ND and FSU. I hate ND but would love them to join the big add syracuse and stop right there.

    We've known this would be a 7pm game for some time. What we didn't know, until today, was the station it would be on.

     

    Now we have to wonder if Nebraska / Ohio State or Nebraska / Michigan, which are also slated to be 7pm starts, are going to be on ABC or ESPN. I'm guessing we'll have to beat Wiscy to get the Ohio State game on ABC, and either be undefeated or one-loss to get the Michigan game on ABC. There's pretty much no way that all three make the Network 7pm slot, though, so don't look for more than two of them to be on ABC.

    Yeah.....about that......receiving votes is nice, but it ain't being ranked. App. State is getting more love, that says something about this team. Clean up the consistancy and who knows, maybe someday.

     

    So bring back Anderson? Jeez what do you want in Darin's first year

    Benny Parker led all scorers last night in the Missouri vs Kansas all star game. He had 20 points in 15 min of action.

    Tweeked his ankle alittle bit. Our son has a classmate that played in the game (Garrett Lowe) he talked to him last

    night and said he is one of the fastest kids he has seen on the court. Could have a good one here.

    OFFICIAL Possible Basketball Coaches Thread

    Ever since Bob Davaney came and we ended up with back to back NC's Nebraska has been a football school. After Davaney Osborne gave us 25 years of success. Never winning less than 9 games a season and many of those years were 9 win seasons when a team didn't play 11, 12 or 13 games in a season. Nebraska also went to 25 straight bowl games and the Osbourne Era ended with three more NC's in his last 4 years. When your fan base doesn't really notice that BB is being played until sometime around mid-January and there is maybe 6 weeks of the season left and then combine that with mediocre teams... Well there you have it. What coach wants to come into a situation like that?

    So what came first, the chicken or the egg? I don't believe the explanation of why we can't hire a great men's basketball coach is because we're a "football" school. We have an awesome women's volleyball team--which plays to packed arenas during football season, the women's basketball team is rising, we are very good to great in wrestling, solid in soccer, swimming, and gymnastics.

     

    The women's teams are where they are due to Title IX. Ever heard of it? Schools have been told to spend money on women's athletics. Again what 'great coach' wants to come into a situatioin where his program would be treated as an afterthought? The football team wins, the basketball team doesn't. The fan base doesn't care about BB until the season is almost over. What you believe or don't believe doesn't amount to a small hill of beans. This is how it has been for over 40 years.

    Did you even watch NU basketball in the 90's. 40 years??????? . Oh by the way the Bob was sold out for most of that time period

    so don't say the fan base doesn't care
